Interesting. I wonder what's behind the sudden appearance, and subsequent decline? It certainly hit the ground running in that part of the world.
Without diminishing the personal tragedy of the victims, I never felt Zika was going to be a major public health issue, but as unpredictable as this virus has shown itself to be, it would probably be wise not to drop our guard yet. If nothing else, it will help with other vector borne threats like West Nile, chikungunya, dengue fever, and malaria. |
