This is a peer-reviewed-journal scientific report due for publication in December this year. It details the fatal case of an infected man in 2014, a non-fatal case in Kansas in 2015 and the subsequent research into the virus resevoirs in that location and to analyse both how and by what vector it infected humans.
They want more information/data before drawing rigid conclusions, but preliminary hypothetical answers suggest that not enough ticks are infected with the virus to explain the cases and therefore there must be another vector. |
