I can't help but feel we are in the calm before the storm. There have been so few confirmed people with this virus in other countries and yet people from China have been flying in and out without restriction until very recently. I know incubation is 7 - 14 days but I did see something on the FB page that mentioned 22 days. That would certainly explain the lag in numbers. I also saw reports of people who were tested and came out negative, only to be tested a few days later and be positive.

I fear there'll be an explosion any day.

Those who got it wrong, for whatever reason, may feel defensive and retrench into a position that doesn’t accord with the facts.

Agree. It's only a matter of time. Give it two more weeks from today, by 2/18, I predict, we'll know if it became a Katy-Bar-The-Door pandemic, or into concerning, but locally controlled, outbreaks.

Quietly help your friends and family prepare. If it doesn't go exponential as quickly as China, and be able to develop effective treatments, we'll count our blessings.
