Deadly dog disease Alabama Rot hits the CotswoldsGloucestershire has seen a spate of Alabama Rot cases this year Vets believe a dog in the Cotswolds is suffering from serious illness Alabama Rot. The George Veterinary Hospital, in Malmesbury, said: "Unfortunately, we are currently managing a dog which we believe has the condition referred to as Alabama Rot." Anderson Moores, specialists in the disease, announced on Tuesday the UK's Alabama Rot death toll is 37 in 2018, and 160 since 2012. Last month dog owners across the country were urged to keep their pets away from muddy areas, to prevent them contracting the flesh-eating illness.
