This is a question for the women who use a Diva Cup. The gentlemen may wish to avert their eyes.
I just bought one of these things and am using for the first time. I bought size "Mommy" since that's what I am. Am having trouble getting it comfortable. It feels crampy when I have it inserted. Plus, I'm having trouble with "twirling" it a turn in either direction, as per Step 4 of the directions (the step that's marked "IMPORTANT!!!"). It's just too slippery to get a grip of. Any advice for a newbie? Thanks! |

Yeah, I bought "Mommy size", too. Sorry, but I have tried it for two cycles now and am less than pleased. The little stem is too small and slippery to grab, and removal is dry and painful. I'll keep it in case the long term BF quarantine etc. really happens. Until then....back to the old reliables.

Try the Keeper. Longer stem, softer silicone.

Ahhh for the love of Dog, They lure ya in with hockey stuff. THEN they tease ya into keep reading with a line like "The gentlemen may wish to avert their eyes". . . Lordy, a woman tells a guy to hide is eyes and ALL he can do is keep reading, looking for interesting pictures or bad husband jokes. . . I feel used and cheap. . . . |

Believe me, I would have preferred to PM this, if there was anyone to PM it to. But hey, you guys DO know everything, don't you? Guess I should have titled this post "Mom's On Her Period" and then the men would have scattered like scalded cats. |

I will be honest with you; I have never even heard of a Diva cup until
now. I must not get out enough! I think that I will just stay
with what I know. It looks like an uncomfortable device.

Think I'll just wander back over to the ELECTRICITY and COMMUNICATIONS aisles...
Actually, I think this the proper forum for your question. Didn't someone else recommend to stock up on Viagra and condoms? Edited by 2ifbyC - April 21 2006 at 7:37am |

It occurs to me it may be worthwhile to tell what the Diva Cup is in case someone wants to look into it for herself. As for all you ginger-ale-spewing smarty pants, you can just go about your manly business.
Basically, it's a reusable silicone cup to replace tampons and maxipads. It precludes the need to stockpile those items, freeing up precious storage space and funds for extra rice, woo hoo! Depending on your flow, it can pay for itself in 3-6 cycles. It is taking a bit of practice to learn to get this thing inserted properly. If you are reading this because you're having trouble too, I found it helpful to insert the device as far as I would a tampon, contrary to what the poorly written instructions advised. Hope this is helpful to someone. |
