I live in the rural west of New Jersey.  We experience outages during a normal winter.

I think most people will not go to work during a raging pandemic.  Power stations will have to operate with a skeleton crew and line/transformer maintenance may become almost non-existent.

My backup plans:

  • Diesel Generator (6000w, 30amp) more reliable than Gas, and I can use my home heating oil (500 gallons), pretty loud
  • Solar Panel (123w, 7amp) with Portable Battert/Inverter (1500w, 60 ah), silent

It's not so much the apocalypse... but the credit card bills Shocked
