Some may have noticed I deleted most of my posts and replaced them with a period (.)

Much of my adult background is in high end computing and networking.

IMO AFT is being sniffed and archived and algorithm by many from .Gov ect ect ect.

The tone here has changed... Why? AFT is a blip on the .Gov radar...

I would bet Albert knows this, thus the change in the tone of the board.

Some very technical info for you to ponder on below:

divide and conquer, keep the little people busy tactic…

Just in case you did not know .GOV has supercomputer farms that scan our phone calls, emails, blogs, websites, email, ect ect ect.

Divide and Conquer?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divide_and_conquer

Divide and conquer (derived from the Latin saying Divide et impera ) may refer to:

Divide and rule, in politics, sociology and economics, a strategy to gain or maintain power

Divide and conquer paradigm, in computer science, an algorithm design paradigm based on recursion

Divide-and-conquer eigenvalue algorithm, in computer science, a class of algorithms to find the eigenvalues of Hermitian matrices

Divide and conquer algorithm

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divide_and_conquer_algorithm

In computer science, divide and conquer (D&C) is an important algorithm design paradigm based on multi-branched recursion. A divide and conquer algorithm works by recursively breaking down a problem into two or more sub-problems of the same (or related) type, until these become simple enough to be solved directly. The solutions to the sub-problems are then combined to give a solution to the original problem.

This technique is the basis of efficient algorithms for all kinds of problems, such as sorting (e.g., quicksort, merge sort), multiplying large numbers (e.g. Karatsuba), syntactic analysis (e.g., top-down parsers), and computing the discrete Fourier transform (FFTs).

On the other hand, the ability to understand and design D&C algorithms is a skill that takes time to master. As when proving a theorem by induction, it is often necessary to replace the original problem by a more general or complicated problem in order to get the recursion going, and there is no systematic method for finding the proper generalization.

The name "divide and conquer" is sometimes applied also to algorithms that reduce each problem to only one subproblem, such as the binary search algorithm for finding a record in a sorted list (or its analog in numerical computing, the bisection algorithm for root finding) [1]. These algorithms can be implemented more efficiently than general divide-and-conquer algorithms; in particular, if they use tail recursion, they can be converted into simple loops. Under this broad definition, however, every algorithm that uses recursion or loops could be regarded as a "divide and conquer algorithm". Therefore, some authors consider that the name "divide and conquer" should be used only when each problem may generate two or more subproblems.[2] The name decrease and conquer has been proposed instead for the single-subproblem class.[3]

The correctness of a divide and conquer algorithm is usually proved by mathematical induction, and its computational cost is often determined by solving recurrence relations.

Or

Divide or Conquer: How Great Teams Turn Conflict into Strength.

Every team is only as strong as its weakest relationships...

Work relationships are like the weather everybody talks a lot about them, but most think they cannot do much about them. Such fatalism soon becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, resulting in mediocre and frustrating teams at all levels. A master adviser to teams, Diana Smith persuasively shows how those who truly care about performance and relationships can simultaneously nurture both.
Peter Senge, author, The Fifth Discipline

How relationships among leaders determine the success or failure of any organization

No one would dispute the idea that relationships matter in business. Yet despite their obvious importance, they remain largely a mystery. Why do some conflicts get resolved quickly while others lead to permanent animosity? Why do some relationships grow stronger over time, others more fragile?

Most of us never even think about our relationships, at least not until they get into trouble and by then it may be too late. Convinced that others have attitude problems, we focus on getting them to change. But that never works; it just convinces our colleagues that we are the source of the problem. What we need to change, are the patterns of interaction between us.

Now it is up to Albert to show us how to build working relationships that are flexible and strong enough to survive the toughest challenges.

AFT may not have a supercomputer farm with high power algorithms to disseminate all information posted in its threads. But we do have the human factor and common sense.

Let us use it!

So what if the .gov is watching us? I would expect they would be. They have people that do nothing but search websites all day long for the "different" types of websites that are not the norm. They will know we are not "harmful or a threat" they are more interested in child porno, gang recruiting websites, white supremecy websites, militant groups that type thing. I assume they check out all websites that are a little different and I think this would qualify. You have to agree we are much smarter and better prepared than the average citizen Smile  so that makes us different than the average citizen. So why wouldn't they watch us?  They can do all the checking they want on me, they won't find anything negative.

Sometimes you find a needle in a haystack by stepping on it on accident.

IMO someone hit a nerve. Even in conspiracy theory there is some truth.

Most of the folks here seem to be law abiding tax paying good people, That does not mean one of us did not post something that struck a nerve deep into a truth that somehow compromised an event or strategy that was never supposed to be revealed.

I have never had bad intentions here. But I fully admit sometimes I dig to deep. Others dig also.

TMI  (To much information)

To tell the truth I don't even want to know what it is anymore. I am just trying to protect my family as most here are trying to do.

To TPTB that have been offended or exposed. I don't think anyone had any bad intentions, Just a shovel with a handle a little too long. I filled my hole back in OK? Let it go!

Be careful what you ask for, Ya just might get it.

P.S.

Will work for a few bunk beds and some cheese deep in NORAD'S Cheyenne Mountain.

Ya know how to reach me... LOL

The times, they are a changin'  Bob Dylan

I have noticed here in small town West Virginia that the over all stress level is pretty up there.  For awhile many of my friends were simply not answering their phones. Now they are answering and they don't sound well. Bluebird is ill and this always puts a damper on my world considering right now there are other factors in play. My niece just began crying for no apparent reason, my cousin hadn't slept for three days, and a few of his friends were pretty depressed.

To put it in a nutshell something is up- something is not quite right. The challenge- and I mean challenge- what is going on with Swine Flu?

You must admit, since Avian Flu seems to have gone underground, and a Pandemic was declared and we are waiting for the second wave to hit in August- the question is how exactly do we determine when the Second Wave hits.

Nice little maps with outbreaks and cases in each state?  Totals in .gov websites for the total number of cases in the U.S?  Trying to track the flu when schools are out.  We had something going on in Yucatan and Mexico- maybe beginning of second wave and zip- its gone. 1,000 cases nearly in just a short time. Someone posted a red alert, they were heading towards the outbreak, and would be keeping us posted?

Well, I admit it. I felt that Spielberg twinge, waiting on the mountain for the mothership, we are on our way to check and see and then- silence.

We are family (some song tune runs through) but the site was zooming. I would look at members on line or whatever and see 30 or 40 in both news and discussion, thinking - okay- we have liftoff- we are finally after years heading into the event.

And yours truly as well as some of the other members had 3,000 to 4,000 posts. Not by design, but M.C. on many issues and topics was literally all over Google.

Had been monitoring Time magazine and other mainstream and stuff was coming up that was posted here. Lines, phrases, content, topics.  Then in my last two issues of Time magazine it was as if Swine Flu has disappeared from the map.

It swamped Australia, swarmed Europe, is in 136 countries, and finally was Pandemic. Doctors and nurses and health professionals were coming forward and posting intriguing stuff. And then I started seeing this wierd phenomena. It would be like someone would post outbreak in X country, so many deaths and then in a few moments that post would followed by now these are the basic signs of Swine Flu?

Been there. Done that. The basic signs of Swine Flu minus really nuts and bolts outbreaks and case numbers are all over sites on the net.

How many cases of Swine Flu are there in Australian population today? How about Canada?

We are given a challenge here. We can't know the number of cases unless a doctor diagnoses a person with Swine Flu and reports it. He can't diagnose it unless a test is run and it comes out positive. Through the world in many places they have stopped testing, at least giving out results.

This has happened before. We were tracking the Swine Flu in the outbreak in Mexico. We were nearing 200 cases or more. It was 2 A.M. and I was looking for stuff and suddenly pages began vanishing. I knew it at first because my engine started giving me page after after page of "Aunt Audrey's Blueberry mix" where there had been school closed in Chili with flu infections increasing exponentially. In my state the cases tripled in a few weeks.

There was a brief line in Times about how powerful the blogs were getting at picking up news. How more and more people were going on the net to find out what was happening. And I guess the next step- that AFT was becoming one the, if not the top talk sites in net world.

One million cases in the United States or more.

I barely wrestled the fact it is spreading through Korea indirectly from canceled flights in South Africa.

Scuffling of sand in the playyard, but major spread of a Pandemic around the globe. People want to know what is happening.

Please allow me to explain why posts on this message board are getting search engine hits.  I assure you it is not because we are being watched or targeted or anything "sinister".

People go to a search engine and are typing in "swine flu" or whatever.  Ok.  Well, swine flu is currently a big, hot search topic.  Up until very recently there were probably not a lot of websites that were discussing swine flu.  Probably some history of the 70s fiasco dealie and not much else.  But then the "new/current" swine flu hit and people started talking about it and started turning up on websites everywhere.  With me?

So then the search engine "sorts" for relevancy and will spider the web and then crawl websites where the term appears.  It will then rank the search engine results based upon several factors such as the number of times the keyword shows up on that site with the assumption that if it is mentioned 100 times on Site A but only 1 time on Site B, it's going to show Site A first because it is more weighted to the search term..

So this ENTIRE site has mentioned swine flu many, many times and thus is ranking higher in search engine hits.  That's just for the very basic "swine flu" searches.  If people are entering even more targeted keywords such as "swine flu deaths" or "swine flu Australia" or "swine flu news", etc. then this site, because of the multiple times those search strings are "hit" when the engine spiders, is going to come up even moreso.

Very simple really, it's just how search engines work with the bazillion websites out there.    In fact, bloggers and web designers know that this is how search engines work and purposely "load" their website with their market specific keywords so that they will rank higher and get more visitors or shoppers or whatever.

Amazing... the Id you have is 3 days old and you have 5 posts in all.

I have been doing SEO work for over ten years. What you speak of is called keyword spamming.
Yes it used to work ten years ago. Spiders report to a series of servers running algorithms
now.

Please preach to a choir that has not had singing lessons.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Typically, the earlier a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

The acronym "SEO" can also refer to "search engine optimizers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or Spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization

If it was that simple anyone could get a #1 google keyword position.

A #1 keyword position can be worth millions of dollars per day. Sorry to say you are wrong.

It's not keyword "spamming" to optimize your website.  It is a perfectly legitimate and respected practice utilized by webmasters the world 'round.

Obviously, the more popular a search, the harder it is to get a good ranking.  Search engine results also weigh how long a website has been up, how many visitors it has, how many other websites link to it, etc.  I was merely giving a basic "How Search Engines Work" run down because someone asked.  I can more than hold my own with you in a battle of how search engines work if you wish, but it would probably bore everyone else.

It is indeed possible to get a #1 Rank depending on what keywords you are targeting.  As I said, the most popular ones have millions of established websites already.  But niche marketing is highly effective if you have a very specific expertise or product.  Blogs and message boards in particular are highly favored in the search engines because the content is fluid and there is so much text involved for the crawlers to scan.

This site is a perfect example of organic traffic.  The site is self keywording itself every time someones types swine flu in a post.  That's not spam.

As for me being new here... um, so is the swine flu.    I am sure a lot of new people besides myself are finding this website because of that simple fact.   I have a family I want to take care of.  There is a pandemic and people are rightfully investigating it and will land here.   Just because the flu just happened and I only recently found the website does not mean I don't have contributable knowledge in some areas or helpful advice in others or a right to speak here or ask questions here.

I may not know all the ins and outs of H1N1 or what food everyone should be trying to stock right now - and I haven't asserted that I do.  But I definitely know how the internet works.

I didn't attack anyone or in anyway behave disrespectfully.  I live by the Golden Rule and unfortunately am sometimes let down to find that others do not.  At any rate, other new people are coming here besides myself and will continue to come here now that there is an imminent flu situation about to erupt.  I would hope that they will not be afraid to contribute for fear of being attacked.

Before many were born here, many of us started, using 256k modems, building the essence of html, and watching a fledgling child called the Internet hatch. Now into the 3rd generation of 'web users' we have predicted its collapse in 2012 due to the explosive web traffic and use.  http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/communications/soa/Internet-infrastructure-to-collapse-by-2010-/0,130061791,339284006,00.htm It is the demand for analog information, communicated at incredible bandwidth and consumption of os speed into the petaflops and ectaflops which will demand the equivalent of multicore devices equivalent to tens of thousands of chips in a single chip the size of teacup.

Also not far off there will be an alternative to the Internet as you have come to know it. With the coming of the super, light, and quantum computers- and instantaneous communication devices- using muon spin sensing to send messages without wires or time delay, optical circuitry and most of all a complete break from digital in chips and programming to pure analog (light modification in speed and even nth dimensional data storage) the new age of computer technology already either in development or testing will make what is now, archaic and forgotten. Most of the knowledge people have or use in programming code is being replaced by socket, and beyond that with AI and finally SI.

Many of us oldsters, lurk, and watch and follow the evolution, the postings, the discussions and heated debates. The screen you are looking at will be replaced with a retinal implant projection device, the mouse with a peel on floating mouse on your hand or hardwire device with hardwires you. There will be no more keyboard, mouse, and movements of your eyes and changing in brain wave patterns will connect you to the Matrix.

Great changes will occur within the next 12 months and many will rise and fall within the political sea. Those of us who knew everything in 1978- had to year by year relearn as technology raced forward like a starship.

One thing has not changed much in the last 2,000 years. Human nature. And with the augmentation of our society with sentient intelligence it will be challenged, but human intelligence is flawed, dangerous, and reflected in courses of action and war which make others, if there were others out there, definitely disinterested in contact.

The knowledge of any age and time or technology is like mist. It comes and then is replaced by ohter knowledge making most of the former irrelevant.

Stars rise and fall, and some watch, some chronicle, and some search to find the truth amidst it all.

The illusion is that of knowledge while the circle forever expands telling us each day how much we really don't know at all.

For the moment we face a quandary. Traacking a Pandemic in which knowledge is being withheld from the public and thereby making it difficult to report or know what is happening. THe cord has been cut in terms of counting, testing, or reporting to the public, but it continues to be counted, tested, and reported to those on the inside.

THe development of a vaccine which can adequately address the rapidly mutating super virus which may evolve has a knife in its cloak for a medical-drug-insurance complex which thrives upon human misery and disease. In developing this vaccine, you would in effect also possibily develop the cures for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and even cancer. This would in effect wipe out hundreds of companies, jobs, and billions of dollars of private and government revinue. It is a difficult choice, like handing an Uzi to a caveman. This kind of technology could wipe out the need for much of the medical treatment and even many doctors, and bring us to a new age of health and extended lifespan.

The choice. If we are faced with a series of Pandemics, not one, and also waves of disease which travel with it, then we must develop what has been suppressed from development for decades. Just as tooth decay could have been eliminated long ago with coatings and treatment thereby making denistry an almost extinct practice, curing the virus has its side effects. For one, in a grossly overpopulated world, to some, not I, the virus is a friend.

256K modems? 256K DSL or dual channel 128k ISDN? That technology is not that old. Many people are still on 56K. I started off using 110 baud acoustic coupled modems.

Without an EMP or nuclear war the internet is not going to collapse in 2012. We were charged in Kilobytes, then Megabytes, Gigabytes and now Terabytes. My first servers cost 10,000 times more per terabyte compared to what they cost now. ISP's are already charging people who use excessive bandwidth. If anything the internet is just going to get faster and faster just like it always has. You will need to pay more if you want more speed and you use Terabytes per month. Plug in a 15 year old modem. You'll remember how slow things really were. 1000's of times slower.

Also, does Al Gore know that you created the internet?  He seems to think he did.

Estes Rockets. LOL When I was a kid I remember trying to make a 3 stage rocket with E, D, and C engines. It had 20+ engines in it but I forget to put a E6-0 in the first stage and it self destructed after the first stage.

Oh and my idiot friend taped a 12 gauge shotgun 00 Buck shell to the end of an arrow. You know "Exploding Arrow" He shot a rock 20 feet away and the Exploding Shell somehow came back at him and ripped up his knee.

OR "CRAZY WACK JOBS".
Probably come up close to the top on Google ;)
