In the midst of war torn Syria. This is a bit lengthy but it is a first hand video of the fighting. There is no carnage, but the images of destruction makes one wonder, what would happen if this happened in America?  Not to get all political, for the media has been pretty quiet about our recent EO confiscation of firearms in the U.S. and some militias still trying to form. Perhaps taking the guns away might make it impossible for people to defend themselves should we see Anarchy in the streets. It is very hard to really see who are the heroes in this conflict. Are there any really?  This should have been resolved years ago by a strong statement in military policy instead of the denial of the problem. Whatever the reason, whoever started it, this is the end result of war. No one thinks this kind of thing could happen in America. It could.

http://southfront.org/syria-bbc-fabricates-again-uses-recycled-photos/

The western media tries to describe Russian bombing in Syria as war-crimes. The same media ignores the ongoing flow of oil from IS-held area's to Turkey, the financial support from countries like Saudi Arabia wich still goes on-to IS.

Starvation has been used several times in this war by both sides. Assad is a cruel dictator. But chaos is worse. The plans for "government-change" go back to 2006, come from the US (and go to the Bush-era).

War is a crime. Not only in Syria but also in Yemen, Congo, Nigeria, etc. The people who make money out of war belong in prison.

Southfront also has pictures of what are supposed to be IS-fighters in the (nazi)AZOV-battalion in the Ukraine. Proberbly also propaganda. http://southfront.org/isis-militants-among-fighters-of-the-ukrainian-battalion-azov/

The face of war is a terrible one. These are disturbing videos and you are advised about that. They are not gruesome, but they make me feel terrible that we cannot do something to help these people. Many leaders simply do not care how this effects the people. In the displays of tough action and power people are dying and many of them are children. Just because this is not in America and these are not people families or here does not make it alright. If something is not done - beyond the butchery and carnage which is all over the the mainstream - this is the real news and face of war and should break peoples hearts.. emotional... choked up... it does mine.

It's not over.  As we approach 2016 - the question remains for the United States. Other nations are moving in to take a greater role in stopping ISIS in Syria.  Will we? The role of GIM (CWN) Global Independent New is growing. Perhaps not boots on the ground, but this is a war to put the "Real News" out there. Smart phone on the fronts of emerging and continuing world conflicts will tell us what is happening beyond the mainstream media.

Christmas 2015: Will Syria & Iraq Become Washington's Stalingrad?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-12-22/christmas-2015-will-syria-iraq-become-washingtons-stalingrad

2016 is going to be an interesting year
and not in a good way either
if the petro dollar collapses
it's good bye American way of life for the MAJORITY of us
"working poor" will be the new norm

"Our foreign policy is designed to perpetuate the failing petrodollar system"

"I hope I'm wrong but I fear Washington is trying to provoke a war in the Middle East to cover the coming collapse of the Petrodollar system and the American economy when the dollar is no longer the world reserve currency. The war is necessary to blame the coming dollar and debt collapse on Russia and China rather where it belongs on Wall Street, the central banking cartel and Washington political establishment"

http://www.debka.com/article/25087/US-bows-to-Russian-demand-to-keep-Assad-in-office-Israel-follows-suit

Almost a month went by and then, Tuesday night, after a day of dickering with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov culminating in a joint conference with Putin at the Kremlin, Kerry confirmed this evolution in US policy. The focus now, he said, is "not on our differences about what can or cannot be done immediately about Assad." Rather, it is on facilitating a peace process in which "Syrians will be making decisions for the future of Syria."

The shooting down of a Russian plane above the Syrian-Turkish border area was made possible by twa AWACS-planes leading the Turkish F16 to the Russian plane. One of the AWACS was NATO, the other Saudi. http://www.voltairenet.org/article189600.html (in German)

https://www.rt.com/news/325825-sarin-gas-syria-turkey/

Addressing parliamentarians on Thursday, Erdem showed a copy of the criminal case number 2013/120 that was opened by the General Prosecutor's Office in the city of Adana in southern Turkey. Speaking to RT later, Erdem explained the basis of his accusations in detail.

The investigation revealed that a number of Turkish citizens took part in negotiations with Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) representatives on the supply of sarin gas. Pointing to evidence cited in the criminal case, he said that wiretapped phone conversations proved that an Al-Qaeda militant, Hayyam Kasap, acquired sarin.

“There is data in this indictment. Chemical weapon materials are being brought to Turkey and being put together in Syria in camps of ISIS which was known as Iraqi Al Qaeda during that time. These are all detected. There are phone recordings of this shipment like ‘don't worry about the border, we’ll take care of it' and we also see the bureaucracy is being used,” Erdem told RT.

Based on the gathered evidence Adana authorities conducted raids and arrested 13 suspects in the case. But a week later, for some inexplicable reason, the case was closed and all the suspects immediately crossed the Turkish-Syrian border, Erde says.

The Bagdad-Government will see this act as an invasion. Iraq has a long stretched border in the south with Saudi Arabia. The KSA, U(nited) A(rab) E(mirates) and Qatar have been supporting IS. So to claim they now want to fight IS is false. They want a Sunni-state in western Iraq/Eastern Syria. Turkey wants Mosul-region for drinking water and oil.

If there would be such an Saudi/US invasion of Iraq that would give "very severe stress" on the Russian-Iraq-Syrian-Coalition (RISC) and China. Egypt did sign a treaty with Russia over a nuclear power plant to be build by Russia.

If this "news" of possible plans by the US/KSA to invade Iraq has any thruth it will make Bagdad ask for Russian, Iran support. A NATO/Gulf States invasion to support IS would than bring the world very close to a "larger scale confrontation" that will not be limited to the Middle East.

The presence of IS in Libya, Afghanistan, Ukrain (only possible by large airlifts) is already a serious escalation. Western leaders only can "sell" such a large war with more "terror-acts" for wich their own "intelligence" can be blamed.

The US is to send some 10,000 troops to Iraq to provide support for a 90,000-strong force from the Gulf states, a leading Iraqi opposition MP has warned. The politician said the plan was announced to the Iraqi government during a visit by US Senator John McCain.

During a meeting in Baghdad on November 27, McCain told Prime Minister Haider Abadi and a number of senior Iraqi cabinet and military officials that the decision was ‘non-negotiable’, claimed Hanan Fatlawi, the head of the opposition Irada Movement.

“A hundred thousand foreign troops, including 90,000 from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Jordan, and 10,000 troops from America will be deployed in western regions of Iraq,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

She added that the Iraqi prime minister protested the plan, but was told that “the decision has already been taken.”

The missiles "targeted two major terrorist positions in the territory of Raqqa," Russia Today quoted Shoigu as telling Putin. "We can say with absolute confidence that significant damage has been inflicted upon ammunition warehouses and a mine production plant, as well as the oil infrastructure."

Raqqa is the de facto Syrian Islamic State jihadist group.

The Russian Defense Ministry, posting on its Facebook page, said the strike was conducted as part of a coordinated increase in the intensity of Russian strikes against the Islamic State and other extremist targets operating in Syria ordered by President Putin on Dec. 5.

comment: The use of more sophisticated weapons is significant. These are also tests of delivery systems which could be used if things went nuclear in the war zone of the Mediterranean.  This is similar to what I posted as they launched missiles from the Black Sea.  Facebook  currently has a user base of 2.6 billion people.

On Sunday, the US-led ‘anti-ISIS’ coalition poundend the Syrian Arab Army’s positions in the province of Deir Ezzor. 1 soldier was killed and half dozen others were wounded.

According to the reports, the military camp belonging to the SAA’s 137th Artillery Brigade in the village of ‘Ayyash was a main target of the US warplanes.

After the US air raids, the ISIS militants started a full-scale offensive on the villages of Ayyash and Bgelia in this area.

http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/12/08/putins-next-move-on-the-grand-chessboard/

According to a Star and Stripes article on December 7, 2015, Syria has accused US Led Coalition aircraft of hitting a Syrian Army base and killing three soldiers in an airstrike on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Not only has the USG denied this attack was theirs, but has actually blamed it on the Russian Federation.

Has America now become engaged in an open act of war against Syria along with all the covert acts of war brought against Syria using their surrogate mercenary army ISIS?

ISIS foreign contingent in Syria doubles, study says

DEBKAfile December 9, 2015, 9:25 AM (IDT)

The number of foreign fighters among the ranks of Islamic State in Syria has doubled over the last 16 months and now stands at approximately 27,000, who are mostly from various Arab countries, the US-based Soufan research institute said Tuesday. The largest group is Tunisians, accounting for about 6,000, with Saudis (2,500) second and Russia (2,400) third, followed by 2,100 fighters from Turkey and 2,000 from Jordan. The study also claimed that about 5,000 ISIS fighters come from various countries in Europe, with 20 to 30 percent returning to their countries of origin. Among the Europeans are 1,800 French, 760 Britons, 760 Germans and 470 Belgians, the study said.

Russian notice to US and Israel of cruise missile fire from submarine

DEBKAfile December 9, 2015, 9:08 AM (IDT)

Russia gave the US and Israel advance notice before launching the Kalibr cruise missile Tuesday from the Rostov-on-Don submarine upon its arrival in the eastern Mediterranean opposite Syria.
The missile was aimed at the ISIS Syrian base at Raqqa.

Russia beefs up its Armenia bases near Turkish border
DEBKAfile December 8, 2015, 10:24 AM (IDT)

Russia has deployed seven attack and transport MI-24 and Mi-8 helicopters to reinforce its air base in Armenia near the capital, Yerevan, the RIA news agency quoted Russian Defense Ministry as saying on Tuesday. Russia also has a military base in Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia in the northwestern part of the country close to the Armenian-Turkish border. The air base was set up in 1995 and since 1998 Russia has been stationing there fighter jets MIG-29

Turkey inserted its commandos into border regions of Syria inhabited by Turkmens, while Russian Air-force started hammering their positions immediately.

Russian bombers in this operation were escorted by nine Su-34 fighter jets, that flew along Syria-Turkey border.

Turkey scrambled F-16 , but their pilots didn’t even dare to interfere with bombing of their own on the ground, reports online portal Fakti.

http://www.debka.com/article/25067/Under-secret-Moscow-Cairo-deal-first-Egyptair-passenger-flights-to-Damascus-Aleppo

A new secret pact has taken shape in the Middle East. Last week, the offices of Russian Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi secretly formulated a tripartite accord for strengthening the ties between Moscow, Cairo and the Assad regime in Damascus, DEBKAfile’s exclusive military sources reveal. The pact had its first visible manifestation in the unannounced landings last Wednesday, Dec. 2, of the first Egyptair passenger flights at Damascus international airport and Aleppo in northern Syria.

A Russian advanced Kilo-class submarine has appeared near the Syrian coast, according to a source in the Russian MoD cited by Interfax. The Rostov-on-Don sub is equipped with modern Russian Kalibr cruise missiles.

In mid-November, there were reports of the same submarine allegedly striking targets in the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa.

I agree Med, I think there is a bit of ostrich syndrome here.  "If we nibble at the edges of the problem it might just go away."

I know I am unusual here in that I like Obama, but he is not up to this challenge!  Bush (who I detested) would have done a far better job.  There is a time for peacemakers and a time for warmongers.  Obama is the wrong man for this job.

Sadly, I cannot see the situation getting any better, I actually forsee it getting much worse.  I think the threat will continue to be underestimated until we are all caught up in civil wars and then a global one.

This is a bit harder to deny. There is no doubt there must be some type of increased military response from the U.S. in Syria or all credibility will be lost. Yet, it is more important to address the situation of a growing Isis (when will they ever stop calling them Isil) which now proves to be a clear and serious threat to Americans on U.S. soil.  Will they evaluate the concern for a loss of control in Syria for a much wider and serious threat to the world by Isis?  One thing is for certain - the mainstream media are not accurately reporting the news.    Medclinician

US-led coalition warplanes have inflicted a missile strike on a camp of Syrian regular troops in the Deir ez Zor province, killing three soldiers. Damascus has slammed the incident as an “act of aggression.” This is the first time coalition planes have hit Syrian troops.

The Syrian government says three of its soldiers have been killed in an airstrike by the US-led coalition created to allegedly target Daesh Takfiri terrorists.

In a statement on Monday, the Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said 13 troops were also injured when four US-led coalition warplanes fired nine missiles at one of the Syrian army’s posts in the central-east of the country in Deir Ezzor Province. ttp:

http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/paris-attacker-abaaoud-offers-insights-into-is-strategy-a-1064902.html

In terms of media coverage, Abaaoud had been Belgium's best-known jihadist, and yet he nevertheless managed to travel back and forth between Syria and Europe without raising attention and would ultimately conduct the Paris attacks together with an entire group of other jihadists. Few others have reported as openly on social media about their adventures in Syria as Abaaoud. In Dabiq magazine, an official propaganda organ of Islamic State (IS), he had boasted in January that he could "plan operations" and come and go as he pleased despite the fact that "my name and my picture have been all over the news."

Is the Worst Yet to Come?

Thomson says that, according to his research, an Islamic State unit led by a Frenchman is currently preparing attacks in Europe. After the terrorist attacks in Paris, Western intelligence agencies intercepted communications between Abaaoud and Islamic State leadership in Syria. There had been similar clues after the attack in Beirut the day before and also after IS brought down a Russian jet carrying vacationers over Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. When IS issued a claim of responsibility for the Paris attacks a few hours later, it provided no information about the perpetrators. But German authorities say this is standard practice for IS: The order is issued by the leadership, but it is then carried out solely by the terrorist cell.

'Islamic State Is Acting in Europe'

It's a disturbing development. In contrast to al-Qaida before it, terror attacks on the West had not previously been a part of Islamic State strategy. Instead, the group had limited itself to expanding its territories in Iraq and Syria and establishing state-like structures.

"Islamic State conceives itself as a state, it acts like a state -- and it employees bureaucrats whose jobs do not differ much from those in the West," writes terror expert Neumann. It provides five to seven million people with food, child care, heating oil and electricity and is seeking to be the "perfect welfare state," he says. Observers say that IS covers up to $2 billion in annual financial needs through oil sales, donations, taxes and the seizure of assets. Neumann refers to it as a "loot economy."

The former commander of US Special Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq said that without the Iraq war, the Islamic State wouldn’t exist today, according to the German newspaper Der Spiegal. He also blamed a poor emotional response to the 9/11 attacks.

“First we went to Afghanistan, where al-Qaeda was based, then we went to Iraq,” Flynn told the newspaper in an interview.“Instead of asking ourselves why the phenomenon of terror occurred, we were looking for locations. This is a major lesson we must learn in order not to make the same mistakes again.”

General Flynn, who served in the US Army for more than 30 years, was stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2004 to 2007. He said he regretted his role in the Iraq war and said the terrorist attacks on 9/11 led the US to create disastrous military polices. The US invaded Iraq after administration officials – including President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Secretary of State Colin Powell – presented false intelligence about Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction program and alleged links to Al-Qaeda.

The wars in Libya and Syria are the outcome of the Obama administration. The Bush administration is the main responsible for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. NATO partners followed the US in most of these choices.

IS is armed, trained, funded, by the US/NATO via Turkey and the Gulf states (other reports also see a role for the Ukraine, Georgia and Israel a.o.).

What "went wrong" is that Russia started to get involved. IS has over 7000 fighters from EU countries, over 20.000 fighters from Russia, also fighters from China. IS is now showing up in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Libya, Nigeria-all countries linked with oil/gas (transport) and proberbly getting logistical transport etc. from NATO ?

“The reason the U.S. government was operating in Libya is absolutely critical to this debacle because it reflects where America went off the tracks and literally switched sides in the GWOT,” points out Lopez. “This is about who we are as a country, as a people — where we are going with this Republic of ours.”

“There can be no greater treason than aiding and abetting the jihadist enemy in time of war – or providing material – weapons, funding, intel, NATO bombing – support to terrorism,” she continued. “The reason Benghazi is not the burning issue it ought to be is because so many at top levels of U.S. government were implicated in wrong-doing: White House, Pentagon, Intel Community-CIA, Gang of Eight, at a minimum, in Congress, the Department of State, etc.”

The State Department and the CIA did not respond to requests for comment.

Clinton was asked about the gun running operation when testifying before the House Select Committee on Benghazi in October. The Democratic presidential frontrunner claimed she was not aware of any U.S. government efforts to arm jihadists in Libya and Syria.

Clinton did admit to being open to the idea of using private security experts to arm the Qaddafi opposition, which included al-Qaeda elements, but added that it was “not considered seriously.”

Members of the 2011 “Gang of Eight” mentioned in this report included: then-House Speaker

Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL)

 Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD)

Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)

 and Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA).

Lopez is the vice president for research and analysis at the Center for Security Policy and a senior fellow at the London Center for Policy Research and the Canadian Meighen Institute.

Echoing a Benghazi resident who provided a first-hand account of the incident, retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Dennis Haney, a CCB member, suggested to Breitbart News that Hillary Clinton’s State Department armed some of the al-Qaeda linked jihadists who may have killed the four Americans in Benghazi.

(Dutch Josh)In other words: The US organized the murder of the US ambassador in Libya who was giving arms to IS and Al Queda terrorists as a US strategy to fight terrorism. Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama should be kept responsible also for this murder ?

“The Obama administration effectively switched sides in what used to be called the Global War on Terror [GWOT] when it decided to overthrow the sovereign government of our Libyan ally, Muammar Qaddafi, who’d been helping in the fight against al-Qaeda, by actually teaming up with and facilitating gun-running to Libyan al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood [MB] elements there in 2011,” explained Lopez. “This U.S. gun-running policy in 2011 during the Libyan revolution was directed by [then] Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and [the late Libya Ambassador] Christopher Stevens, who was her official envoy to the Libyan AQ rebels.”

To avoid having the funds tracked back to the Obama administration, the arms flow to Libya was financed thru the United Arab Emirates, while Qatar served as the logistical and shipping hub, she noted.

“In 2012, the gun-running into Libya turned around and began to flow outward, from Benghazi to the AQ-and-MB-dominated rebels in Syria,” Lopez added. “This time, it was the CIA Base of Operations that was in charge of collecting up and shipping out [surface-to-air missiles] SAMs from Libya on Libyan ships to Turkey for overland delivery to a variety of jihadist militias, some of whose members later coalesced into groups like Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIS [also known as IS].”

Jabhat al-Nusra is al-Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate.

“The downstream consequences of Obama White House decisions in the Syrian conflict are still playing out, but certainly the U.S. – and particularly CIA – support of identifiable jihadist groups associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, Jabhat al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham, the Islamic State and other [jihadists] has only exacerbated what was already a devastating situation,” declared Lopez.

Some of the other weapons that eventually ended up in Syria included thousands of MAN-Portable-Air-Defense-System (MANPADS) missile units, such as shoulder-launched SAMs, from late dictator Muammar Qaddafi’s extensive arms stockpiles that pose a threat to low-flying aircraft, especially helicopters.

“It’s been reported that President Obama signed an Executive Order on Syria in early 2012 [just as he had done for Libya in early 2011], that legally covered the CIA and other U.S. agencies that otherwise would have been in violation of aiding and abetting the enemy in time of war and providing material support to terrorism,” notes Lopez. “Still, such blatant disregard for U.S. national security can only be described as deeply corrosive of core American principles.”

Libya Amb. Stevens was killed by jihadists in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, along with three other Americans.

Already a small number of Russian troops is fighting not far from Latakia. Putin wants results and not enable "other powers" to re-arm IS (or "moderate opposition"). Iran and Iraq may be starting to get ready for a major battle as well.

Such a major development would need backing of China. Russia could coordinate with Israel to keep away Iran and Hezbollah from Israels borders.

The official story is that Russia does not want Russian soldiers fighting a groundwar in Syria. Only to "speed things up" it may be needed to start a ground war.

Turkey (NATO) controls the Black Sea-Mediterreanean Sea-connection, Bosporus. Russia could send supplies via Iran. A "sever escalation" will have effects on the relation between NATO (supporting supporters of IS) and Russia, Iran.

Putin's strategy is simple. First deal with IS in Syria and Iraq. The picture I am getting is that Russia is blocking transport-lines to Turkey. IS can not longer sell oil, can not longer get their supplies from Turkey. There are other oppositiongroups opposed to the cruel dictator Assad. But to solve "the problem" they are paying a high price.

I guess Putin will start pushing IS to the south across the border towards Saudi Arabia. They also created the problem. The corrupt Gulf-kingdoms are no better than the Assad dictatorship.

Turkey will see more internal unrest. The Russian sanctions, the break down of tourism (also from the west, even it was for free I would not go to Turkey for a holiday) and growing protest from large groups may bring the Turkish Army to "restore order".

Israel is giving medical care to alqueda-fighters from Syria http://www.voltairenet.org/article189411.html

Several journalists who were participating in a media tour organised by the Australia/Israel and Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) were able to visit the Ziv Medical Centre, in Zefat (North Israël). The hospital has at its disposal a service specialising in war traumatology. It is government-run and linked to the Israeli Defence Forces. In this context, it treats Syrian « refugees ».

While the rest of the group - the assistant chief editor of theDaily Telegraph, Ben English ; the journalist from Seven News, Alex Hart ; the political reporter from Sky News, David Lipson ; the chief editor of the Australian Financial Review, Aaron Patrick ; the head of the political column of the Sydney Morning Heraldand The Age, Bevan Shields – followed the organisers, a famous journalist from News Corp, Sharri Markson, stayed with some of the patients in order to hear their stories. She was thus able to confirm that more than 500 of them are members of Al-Qaïda, wounded during the fighting in Syria. She was able to note the details of the manner in which they had been transfered to Israël to receive hospital care, and then sent back to continue the jihad in Syria. She was then arrested by security officers.

Turkey's president has said he is "saddened" by the downing of a Russian combat jet by Turkish forces on the Syrian border last Tuesday.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he wished the incident had not happened and hoped it would not happen again.

Qatar has bought sophisticated military equipment from Ukraine on behalf of ISIS. The operation took place in late September 2015, just before the Russian military action against the terrorist organization. It was approved by the US embassy in Doha. Officially, the new emir is not involved in the war in Iraq and Syria.

http://www.todayszaman.com/diplomacy_turkmens-re-take-control-of-kizildag-hill-from-syrian-forces_405491.html

Turkmens living in the Bayırbucak area near Turkey's Yayladağı border gate withSyria on Friday morning regained control of Kızıldağ (Red Mountain), one of three strategic hills that had fallen into the hands of the Syrian army on Thursday.

After an exchange of heavy gunfire between the Turkmen groups and the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad early on Friday, the Turkmens had re-taken control of Kızıldağ by 6 a.m. Turkmen forces also captured two tanks from the Syrian army.

Yesterday, the Syrian army deployed armored vehicles, heavy machine guns and troops to Kızıldağ after recapturing it. The hills have strategic importance for the Turkmens, as they overlook 10 nearby villages where Bayırbucak Turkmens live.

(Turkmens did run to Turkey during Syrian/Russian attacks but returned from Turkey after those attacks)

Syrian forces -- supported by Russian air and land forces -- started a military ground operation in Bayırbucak this week, where there are about 50 Turkmen villages, and have been pounding the mountainous area where Turkmens live. Turkmens are an ethnic Turkic group living mostly in Syria and Iraq, along with Arabs and Kurds.

http://www.todayszaman.com/anasayfa_diyarbakir-bar-association-president-killed_405573.html

"I have just learnt that Bar Association President Mr. Tahir Elçi died and a policeman was martyred," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at a meeting in the northwestern province of Balıkesir, adding that an unspecified number of policemen were also injured. “This incident shows how right Turkey is in its determined fight against terrorism.”

Diyarbakır Co-Mayor Fırat Anlı earlier wrote that Elçi was killed on his Twitter account.

Witnesses said a man started firing at a group that included Elçi, other lawyers and members of the press as Elçi was delivering his statement, a Doğan news agency reporter told private broadcaster CNN Türk. Police teams in the area fired back, sparking a gunfire, he said, adding that a journalist was also wounded.

Elçi has been in the news recently after he said in televised remarks that the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) is not a terrorist group. He was detained in October and was awaiting trial for comments he made during a debate aired on CNN Türk television.

Although he declared that Russia would not go to war with Turkey for “stabbing it in the back,  DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources report that since Wednesday night, Nov. 25, Russian heavy bombers and warplanes have been hitting every Turkish vehicle moving or stationary inside Syria.

They bombed the Bab al-Hawa border crossing, located on the Turkey-Syria frontier, as well trailers and tractors parked in an area belonging to the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation, on the Syrian side of the border.

It was this group (a terrorist association in disguise) that five years ago organized a flotilla to break Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip. The lead-ship the Marmora was boarded by Israeli troops and 12 “aid workers” were killed in a clash, an incident that sparked a major clash between Ankara and Jerusalem. Erdogan then insisted he had never heard of the organization although their strong links were uncovered.
Putin has made no allegations. He simply sent his bombers to destroy the organization's vehicles and plough up their parking area on the Syrian side of the border. He also refuses to take calls from Erdogan.
All these circumstances are features of a very active war waged between the two countries - albeit on Syrian soil - since Turkish warplanes downed the Russian Su-24.

I was also trying to post a link to VeteransToday in wich the role of Turkey in Latakia/Syria becomes more clear. Erdogan is using Turkish minorities in Syria to fight against Assad with Turkish aid.

Johnray1, the Iraq oil wells may have been out of any government control since 2003 (after the US/NATO invasion). IS proberbly took over control, but it might be the same "warlords" (former officers Iraq army from Saddam Hussein era, Baath party) that are doing the deals with whoever wants to do those deals.

The more oil on the market, the lower the price. Russia is only involved in the region a few months. Since Russia is producing oil their interests are in decreasing oilproduction to raise energyprices.

A shipment of 800 huntingriffles from Turkey to the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Question: Who did send those riffles and who would recieve them. Other question: There proberbly were more shipments.

The official story is that the terrorists that killed 130 people in Paris bought there weapons in Germany. Was that German part of a scheme linked to Turkey ? (That would link the Parisattacks to Turkey>)

Terrorist-cells need a source of income. Were do they get their money from ? If the Paris attacks needed 200 people to plan and prepare (a Debka-story) you are talking about a lot of money. Now IS has a lot of money, lots of weapons, but then there is also the logistics; to get "the means" in the "right" place.
