Well, I don't care for either one, lol. But, no it's not a joke. Most of the people I know are voting for Trump because they are sick of the same old crap in Washington, which with Hillary in office, you can be assured of. I think I will be voting for Gary Johnson.

I'm a lifelong Republican, first voting for Gerald Ford in 1976. I support the down-ticket Republicans, but they made their bed by accepting Trump as a candidate, so whatever happens will happen.
Good news about Hillary is she is 70, so she will be a one-term President, and Congress will be able to control many of her ambitions if the Republicans can hang on. If not, look for assault weapons bans, ammunition bans etc. I could see a Hillary-packed Supreme Court trying to damage the Second Amendment, but she seems to be safer than Trump, who is just nuts.

I was listening to a BBC political satire show on the radio and one of the panellists said that no matter what Trump does, Americans would still prefer to vote for a sexist, stupid, racist man than vote for a woman.

I always wanted to be able to vote in America's elections - after all they affect the rest of the world and that includes me.
But for once I am glad I can't. (I would have voted for Hilary - Beelzebub would get my vote over Trump. - and I would never have forgiven myself) My sympathies America.

It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness - J.F.K.
In America we have a basically flawed election process which only allows the incompitent and leaders who can be manipulated from behind the scenes into office. If Hillary is elected, we will see no change and 4 more years of Obamaness which will probably nearly destroy America. It is all words as Trump said, although I distance myself from him and his inability to avoid setting his own traps. Hillary is clearly untruthful and I recently put up a video showing her lying for quite a few minutes. As Trump said (and I am not a Trump supporter) it is all words. The difference in many cases is that Trump does not have the real political disasters of working with people who caused the rise of lsis, made Iran into a super power by ending the sanctions, or paid ransom money to Iran which was used to finance terrorists. There are real acts as well as the willful destruction of emails which was a criminal act and anyone else would be in jail. Whatever happens, many people, and some not so silent, are tired of the lies, deception, and a growing trend to defy law and order, attack those in other states, and promote which are really highly racial agendas as bad as any discrimination of the past. Americans are not ignorant. They are thinking and they are deciding. No candidate will be thrust down their throat by the media, special interest or paid for commercials. In the end - if someone compitent is not put in the White House there will be anarchy. People will riot. It is wrong. But it well could happen. Medclinician |

Why do all the Hillary people ignore the fact that Bill Clinton and Hillary covered up his rapes of young women!
It is strange that liberals can ignore that fact but because Trump did some locker room talk he should be lynched. Can't you people see this is all in Hillary's plan get people all upset about NOTHING so she can win and make America a Socialist Country to finish what Obama started! |

Flumom, what do you mean "his rapes of young women"? Monica Lewinsky was 20. That makes her a fully grown woman, old enough to have sex, get married, be a mother. I understood that she willingly had an affair with Clinton. I have read from more than one source that Clinton is utterly charming and women find him irresistable. Monica obviously fell for his charms. Where is the evidence he raped her?
As far as the age gap goes, there are dozens of well known older men who have younger girlfriends and it's not called rape. It might be morally dubious, but if she's willing........

PRIOR TO GETTING MARRIED, I had a very checkered past. (I am a happily married, faithful wife.) This gave me insight into male behavior on a grand scale. Clinton was both charming and very sexy! Trump is physically gross and gives me the creeps. BUT, and it is a big BUT, power is sexy. Many women would throw themselves at either: and some of those would then use past liasions as a power fulcrum or to attempt blackmail or compensation claims.
Frankly, so what if either are mysogenistic or "easy". The qualities required in the leader of any country have no link to their sexual mores, but to their political ability to do the job. The fact that Clinton was a disaster as a husband, should have had no affect on his presidency. The same applies to Trump today. Private is private and public is public. The rest is none of my (or anyone else but Hilary/Melana's) business. What worries me about Trump is his aggressive approach to business. This is not the same as forceful: The point of gunboat diplomacy is to show - not use - the gunboat. He scares me! I understand the lack of faith expressed in the status quo. I completely agree with it too. But, not him!!! A loose cannon in the current frosty international relations is a step too far into the fire.

Americans are way too uptight about sex and private lives and personal lives are two at least somewhat different things one can be a good leader yet a failure in the personal dept the thing that really bothers me about Trump is the underage girls I mean really,to deliberately walk in on teens in various stages of undress sends the ICK factor OFF the chart imagine having someone like that in your family you wouldn't let "Uncle Donald" in the house and definitely NO babysitting |

Here is a sobering article about how the nuclear triad (land, air, submarine based nukes) are administered by the US President.
I have my fingerprints on several Minuteman III ICBM missiles from my days in manufacturing in the 1970s, and these are now the strongest weapon in our arsenal. If Trump gets the keys, well, anything can happen. I don't trust this guy, especially with his bromance for Putin and other strongmen. Hillary ain't perfect, but I don't think she poses an immediate security risk to the USA, despite all the email stuff. Hillary as President and a Republican House is about the best we can hope for over here.

I try to stay out of politics on AFT and Facebook as it serves no purpose. Nothing I say or do will change the outcome of a major election, but I do risk losing friends over it.
This is one I wasn't going to touch either, but I do have to say that it's starting to resemble Charlie Sheen's megalomania meltdown. And there's something Donald Trump might want to consider when he's on one of his early morning Twitter rants against his own party and it's leaders - they probably have dirt on him that Democrats might not necessarily have access to. And with more and more people throwing their hats in the ring despite his lawyers attempts to gag the media outlets reporting on it, I only see this getting more unpleasant and sordid as election day approaches. I can't really say much about Trump's stance on many issues because I can't figure out what they are. Apart from the "33,000 emails/ISIS/China/ISIS/border wall/ISIS/Muslim ban/ISIS/Bill Clinton" lines he throws out in answer to any question (whether it's relevant or not), I really don't know what he proposes to do if he's elected. He skirts around everything, and offers no solutions other than "something terrific", or "you won't believe it". And if he does take a stance, it invariably changes without explanation in a week or two, or he characterizes it as a joke. I have little love for the GOP, but I'd much rather have a (somewhat) civilized fight between two candidates that want to debate real issues than this rapidly worsening reality TV mess. Politically, Paul Ryan is as far from me as it's possible to be, but he doesn't deserve his tenure as House Speaker to be remembered like this. The old guard of the Republican Party must be going crazy trying to regain some semblance of control, and the damage and divisions within the GOP are going to take a long time to heal. And I bet they're already drafting new rules surrounding presidential nominees, and how much control they have over them in the run up to the election. They're not letting this happen again. |

In my office I have a rule: No religion, no politics and no music! You can believe anything you want to outside the office, but leave those three at the door. They just cause too many arguments. I try to stay away from religion and politics here too. Arguing on line seems to me to be a fools errand. The only thing I will say is: Please vote!

I was going to agree with you, arirish - except for the music part. Then I remembered a coworker at a previous job who's favorite was the Electric Slide song. Like playing it continuously for hours at a time kind of favorite. He'd play it on an MP3 player with a battery powered radio transmitter so he could hear it through the speakers of a boom box we kept on the desk. And he'd hit the back button just before it finished each time. Over and over and over. Hearing it once was no fun - dozens of times without a break every day, over the course of many months, was sheer hell. Thankfully (and not just for that reason) I don't work there anymore.
He was one of the boss's favorites and I definitely wasn't, so complaining wasn't going to work. I ended up buying myself a transmitter - a more powerful one - and without hooking it up to anything, I'd turn it on and place it under the the table below the radio when he started using his. Tuned to the same frequency and inches from the antennae, the static from mine drowned his out. And he never figured out why |

The question really is - if we are on the verge of a nuclear war - who will be able to deal with our enemies and effectively stop it? It has nothing to do with who slept with who, which seems to be a bigger issue than health care, immigration, and America's desperate need to strengthen it's military.
This is typical campaign soap opera. Neither Bill Clinton or J.F.K have a good record on this and both were womanizers and cheated on their wives. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/21/magazine/how-gary-harts-downfall-forever-changed-american-politics.html?_r=0 The Hart episode is almost universally remembered as a tale of classic hubris. A Kennedy-like figure on a fast track to the presidency defies the media to find anything nonexemplary in his personal life, even as he carries on an affair with a woman half his age and poses for pictures with her, and naturally he gets caught and humiliated. How could he not have known this would happen? How could such a smart guy have been that stupid? Of course, you could reasonably have asked that same question of the three most important political figures of Hartโs lifetime, all Democratic presidents thought of as towering successes. Franklin Roosevelt, John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson were adulterers, before and during their presidencies, and we can safely assume they had plenty of company. In his 1978 memoir, Theodore White, the most prolific and influential chronicler of presidential politics in the last half of the 20th century, wrote that he was โreasonably sureโ that of all the candidates he had covered, only three โ Harry Truman, George Romney and Jimmy Carter โ hadnโt enjoyed the pleasure of โcasual partners.โ He and his colleagues considered those affairs irrelevant. comment: It is very simple - and several of my friends and I have discussed this. Race and gender have become primary considerations in candidates from president to Congress. We are about to follow the lead of other nations and put leaders by race or gender. If Hillary were not female, but male, she would not have the kind of support she does in many areas and all this public outcry about Trump the perv would not be in the headlines. Fox and CNN are gunning Trump down as well as the Republican Party. They don't want him in. He will bring about real change and destroy the corrupt people that are in place all over and ruin it. I am surprised he hasn't been shot. America is caught up in the net of their own ridiculous electoral vote mockery of pure democracy. There is no need for it. Gerrymandering districts for control by special social groups is not fair. No special interests should get special treatment and they are lining up for the "Hillary Clinton" administation. Wall Street is terrified Trump will get in. Currently the nearly open border of America is causing a drastic influx of drugs and criminal who cannot even be sent home. The loss of massive jobs to companies who betray America and manufacture offshore is killing our country. It will be found as more wikileaks come out that Hillary has two faces. "What have we got to lose?" Everything. The world is watching America and is really concerned. What happened to them? The leaders and the richest economy and most powerful nation on Earth. The clock is ticking. Where is choice number 3? Medclinician |

Thanks! I'm very concerned not only with Drumpf's bombastic oratory, but with the popularity of it across broad swaths of America. I was under the mistaken impression that the US had come a long ways from its sordid past, but am rethinking that. This is a fascinating map that indicates where his voters tend to reside....mostly white, rural, gun-owning America. Nothing wrong with any of that, but they are being sold a bill of goods with Drumpf. |

yes, I will be voting FOR Trump and proudly because I know (thanks to wikileaks with proof!!!) how disgusting the Hillary camp really is. Trump is not and never has been a sexual predator! I'm not dumb enough to fall for the left's usual tricks thank goodness.
He will FIX America and go back to smaller, less invasive government instead of the overreach and growth of government the left wants. A nation without borders is NOT a nation. We do not need the EU style of open borders, I mean really, it's done so well for them right? There's a reason BREXIT went thru despite predictions it would not. |

and Hillary is so much better why???
He says it... she does it. She has a waaaayyyyy worse reputation by those who know her behind the scenes than Trump does. Her public persona does NOT match her private persona. That woman is said to have a mouth that makes sailors blush and she is a major sexual pervert who goes for both men and women and in larger demand than her husband. Do you want someone for president who as a candidate and sec of state has a habit of finding associates "dead of suicide" (and questionable ones at that) all the time? Go against and die. There's a reason someone posted a picture of dead fly on fb the day after the 2nd debate and had added the caption "this is the fly that landed on Hillary during the debate last night... it was determined he died of suicide" and people shared the heck out of it. Wake up America! I'd rather have a crude man who wants to fix things and who has nothing to gain from being president than one who wants to be president so badly that she will do anything to get it and once there wants to change our country to something our fore fathers would roll in their graves over. I mean they tried so hard to set up our laws and architecture to prevent people like her from doing what she wants to do.

umm ... I think you mean women who are accusers are coming out of the woodwork. Yeah, read wikileaks, talk to those who have gone up against the Clintons (assuming they are still alive) and find out the truth. There's a reason that no one ever filed a complaint until now. Typical democrat tactics!!! and nothing more.
Trump is not a womanizer, abuser, etc. He has no class in his public talking but he is full of class behind the scenes. I'll take him any day over Hillary and her lying and conniving self! I can't wait for him to take office.

I prefer a loose cannon to someone who does nothing at all but talk and allows an ambassador to be tortured and murdered while the WH sits and watches and tells the miliatary to 'stand down'. We're a laughing stock thanks to those bozos and we'd continue to be with her in charge.
