what's a Putin? I don't know no Putin Russia's involvement in U.S. election was personally headed by Putin—and Trump http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016...utin-and-Trump our President elect-a pathological liar "Trump’s 2016 claims to not know Putin contradict his previous statements. China is already testing the USA in preparation for the Trump administration....I have to wonder if PRC isn't going to make a move against Taiwan upon Trump's inauguration? (If I were PRC, I'd seriously consider it!)
(CNN) In seizing an unmanned, underwater US Navy drone in international waters off the Philippines on Thursday, China has thrown down a North Korean-style gauntlet to both the outgoing Obama Administration and the incoming Trump team. While media reports are still sketchy, it appears that a Chinese naval vessel was close enough to a US oceanographic survey ship to launch a small boat to grab the scientific drone as the American vessel was preparing to retrieve it. That would mean a ship-to-ship level of intimidation, and not a snatch-and-grab action in isolated waters. |

Nah, he doesn't want distractions from his HUGE plans for America! This concerns me: The rules package also treats the disposing of federal lands as budget-neutral, which some groups contend could lead to giving away federal resources. This is exactly how the oligarchs got rich after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Drumpf is learning well from Putin, who is himself a wealthy oligarch. |

This is absolutely false and wrong information. This relentless hatred of our president elect is going to bring violence and hatred to our streets and the false information pumped out by mainstream is 100% wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfsGn4-ic3Q The Wikileaks documents were not from Russia or the result of Russian hacks. They were given by a person who was upset by what was done to Ted Cruz by the Democrats and wanted to stop Hillary. It is that simple. A big lie - is still a lie and how can one even begin to believe mainstream media anymore. Currently there is a plan to restructure and reorder the CIA as an agency which has become political and biased. There is no smoking gun and if there had been they would have shown it and named names as far as who did it. There are several Russian groups who hack and attack America and also many other countries and make money doing it. The "style" of hacking can be used by a teenager to get into documents. When I had talked to Kevin Mitnick years ago trying to work with him to improve our national security, he spoke of how easy it was to do so much. https://www.mitnicksecurity.com/ He talked to me for a long time on several occassions and is one of the experts in the field of hacking. It really is annoying to see the media post things they know nothing about based on sources that are not given or even verified. It is lies. Misinformation. Propaganda. Will there be a blood violent revolution in America? This kind of talk and unwillingness to move on to try and build our country and defenses will no doubt cause it. What was done by Hillary Clinton was treason and criminal. The DNC hired people to start violence at Trump rallies and has plotted a campaign of misinformation and personal attacks for years. There is no defense for this. The FBI dropped the investigation because of political pressure. It will not end when Trump is in office. Like this thread, it will continue on with more violence, more hatred and more division and discord until finally we do have violence in the streets in many major American cities. It will eventually reach the people who comfortably sit and feel safe behind their computers as crazy people come into their neighborhoods, their homes, break into their houses and torture them. Look at the lies told in the Wikileaks not how that usb stick was gotten - what was on it. My fear when President Trump takes office is that the violent racist liberals who cannot accept defeat will will split our nation and bring out the worst fascists in history to deal with them. Then we will be at war - and all our enemies will stand up and cheer - you go Trump haters. Destroy America. Medclinician |

The Russians have been hacking us for decades. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that out or do we need proof. We do it as well and also have tried on many occasions to influence governments, take down leaders, and created the Mujhadeen to take down the Soviet Union with Afghanistan. We have financed revolutionaries, provided weapons and even drugs, and this has been going on all my life. That this spying exists is no newsflash. Of course it does and Trump never said it didn't. In fact, the spying that goes on our own network by our own people on our own citizens dwarves anything done by Russia. No one is safe on the Internet. There is no privacy. China hacked millions of documents a few years ago and not a word has been said or any congressional investigations. The obvious is there is more to life than agonizing over Trump's tweets in the mainstream media. There are issues and real problems to be solved in America and he may go a long way in doing that. Imagine if you will, a man who is not a movie star or lawyer or totally owned by anyone, who is actually trying to change things for the better becoming president of the United States. A person who actually will keep many of his campaign promises and help the working people instead of special interest groups - everyone - on a day like any other day - today - you have just crossed over into - The Twilight Zone Medclinician |

We'll see, Med. I don't consider Trump to be much of an advocate for working people personally - he has a long history of refusing to pay contractors and apparently walking away with a clear conscience, causing financial hardship for many, and putting some out of business. Coal mining communities will find out soon enough if their faith in him was justified or not.

The point is at one mall in Manhatten Beach, there's two Macy's at either end of the mall. A couple miles down the road in Redondo Beach there's another Macy's, and a couple miles further down the road there are two Macy's in Torrance. Seems like it would make sense for a company to consolidate, and save a ton of money on labor and rental fees.

what a surprise U.S. intercepts capture senior Russian officials celebrating Trump winhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/us-intercepts-capture-senior-russian-officials-celebrating-trump-win/2017/01/05/d7099406-d355-11e6-9cb0-54ab630851e8_story.html?utm_term=.97ecaca808ab The ebullient reaction among high-ranking Russian officials — including some who U.S. officials believe had knowledge of the country’s cyber campaign to interfere in the U.S. election — contributed to the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Moscow’s efforts were aimed at least in part at helping Trump win the White House. Other key pieces of information gathered by U.S. spy agencies include the identification of “actors” involved in delivering stolen Democratic emails to the WikiLeaks website,"Assange got played " |

Here are some possible reasons: a) Putin is still furious that Pres. Reagan (my own personal hero) was a primary force in driving the collapse of the Soviet Union. Putin, who was a protege of Yuri Andropov at the KGB, wishes to rebuild the Soviet empire through force, deception, economic leverage (natural gas pipelines to Europe), cyberwarfare, and any other means possible. Nothing is off the table to Czar Putin. b) Putin had a personal grudge against Hillary Clinton for her vocal support of anti-Putin protesters in Russia as well as her involvement to unsettle Russian client states such as Iraq, Syria, Libya and so forth. He is also furious at NATO's expansion, which Hillary supported. c) Russian tampering in elections has been established in Ukraine and other countries. I'm not so sure that Trump is a true Nazi as much as a simple bigot/racist/sexist who is adept at lying and manipulating public opinion. If anything, the US Nazis are manipulating Trump by inserting Bannon into the White House. Sorry, I'm a Reagan era Cold Warrior, and Pres. Reagan must be rolling in his grave. I have long supported stronger relations between Russia and the USA, but only on terms that strengthen national security and reduce the risk of nuclear warfare. Putin is smart, tough, talented and resourceful, and he's a very competent enemy, unlike most of the Soviet leaders in history. |

As I was saying back in November, 2016.....http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ukraine-russia-rebels-war-donetsk-avdiivka-wait-for-trump-reaction/ Iran has seen fit to start "testing" Trump: Also, this from Iran: Trump will probably think he needs to respond quickly and with force in Iran's case. In Ukraine's case, he seems happy to go along with Putin. This is not good.... |

Not good at all, Chuck. We stand a good chance of destabilizing Iran, one of the last countries in the region that hasn't yet descended into sectarian anarchy, and giving them good reason to walk away from the negotiating table. After that, I see nothing but war in Trump's game plan. The nuclear deal might not have been to everyone's liking, but it was one of the few times in recent history where the US, Europe, China, Russia and Iran itself were pretty much on the same page. The lack of diplomacy now coming from the White House means we're unlikely to see that kind of accord any time soon.
Russia has been seriously eyeing Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for quite a while now, conducting “snap” military exercises numbering 30,000-80,000 troops along the borders with it's Baltic neighbors. With Trump's trash talking of NATO, it's becoming more and more likely that Russia will attempt to invade, confident that the US will refuse to act. Between the Middle East, the Baltic States and increasing tensions in the South China Sea, it's getting to be a much scarier world - and all in less than two weeks. |

Just to comment in short; Obama did manage to loose friends of the US like Turkey, Philipines, Egypt, in less than two weeks Trump brutalized relations with Europe, insulted (again) Mexico, escalated relations with Bejing-China and the relation with Russia is most serving Exxon.
Clinton in my opinion still would have been a biggerdisaster if she would have gone for a US-no-fly zone over (Russia/Iran) controled Syria. Trump is a symptom of a much larger problem not only in the US but in most western countries. The gap between politicians and what the public expects from politics is to wide. The US could need another Roosevelt (Bernie Sanders could have played such a role). Russia will try to gain influence in Europe via politics. Right-wing parties in Germany, France, Netherlands seem te get funding from Russian banks.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) - “We’re going to war in the South China Sea in five to 10 years, aren’t we? There’s no doubt about that,” Steve Bannon, the new Chief Strategist and senior counselor for the United States President Donald Trump, said in an interview nine months ago. The former executive chair of Breitbart News, a far-right media, has risen to become one of the most powerful men in Trump’s administration, and his political views have become more influential than ever. Many have expressed concern that his hard-right and aggressive opinions will have an extraordinary sway in Trump’s governing. He was said to be an important figure behind the recent travel ban. During a radio interview, Steve Bannon made comments that the United States will soon go to war with China over the South China Sea dispute. The remarks, though made in March last year, resurfaced at a time when U.S.-China relations have heated up after Trump came to office. “We’re going to war in the South China Sea in five to 10 years.” “There’s no doubt about that. They’re taking their sandbars and making basically stationary aircraft carriers and putting missiles on those. They come here to the United States in front of our face – and you understand how important face is – and say it’s an ancient territorial sea.” He also noted that he believed a “major shooting war in the Middle East” will happen again. “Our big belief, one of our central organizing principles at the site, is that we’re at war,” he said in November, 2015. “You have an expansionist Islam and you have an expansionist China. Right? They are motivated. They’re arrogant. They’re on the march. And they think the Judeo-Christian west is on the retreat,” Bannon said during another radio show February last year. Bannon’s views are coming under increased scrutiny given the
unprecedented power handed to him by Trump, who, in the days leading up
to his presidency, had made anti-China rhetoric the focal point of his
trade policy. |

Thanks, JD, good article! I've recently been mulling the "sandbars as aircraft carrier" analogy....during the Cold War, Nakasone referred to Japan as an "unsinkable aircraft carrier" against the USSR. We shoved our carriers in China's face during the Clinton years (he sent three carrier group to make China stand down against Taiwan, I thought one would have been enough). It was very embarrassing for China, who are trying to build up their navy. They have one blue-ocean carrier and are building more, but these are not easy to operate. The "island as aircraft carrier" is spot-on. |

Why Nobody Cares the President Is Lying
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/04/o...ht-region&_r=0 "By now, it ought to be evident that enemies are important to this administration, whether they are foreigners, refugees, international bankers or the press. But discrediting independent sources of information also has two major advantages for Mr. Trump: It helps insulate him from criticism and it allows him to create his own narratives, metrics and “alternative facts.” All administrations lie, but what we are seeing here is an attack on credibility itself. The Russian dissident and chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov drew upon long familiarity with that process when he tweeted: “The point of modern propaganda isn’t only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking, to annihilate truth.” "In that world, the leader becomes the only reliable source of truth; a familiar phenomenon in an authoritarian state, but a radical departure from the norms of a democratic society. The battle over truth is now central to our politics. This may explain one of the more revealing moments from after the election, when one of Mr. Trump’s campaign surrogates, Scottie Nell Hughes, was asked to defend the clearly false statement by Mr. Trump that millions of votes had been cast illegally. She answered by explaining that everybody now had their own way of interpreting whether a fact was true or not." |

Exactly what Hitler did in the 30s. Again!
I have asked myself why so many otherwise incredulous, intelligent and caring Americans fail to see through this. I also asked myself why so many otherwise incredulous, intelligent and caring Germans failed to see through this back then. ..........................................................................................................................................Probably the same answer.

How do you tell if a politician is lying?
His lips or pen are moving. |
