37 deaths out of 72 cases gives a Case Fatality Ratio of 51%.

Either this is very bad news, or most cases are going under the radar (or being swept under the carpet).

I'm sure this behaves like other flu viruses and has milder cases that go unnoticed or undiagnosed, but it still causing severe illness and death in a large number of people long after cases should have begun to tail off. This is a serious pandemic contender, and the speed at which it's developing is definitely noteworthy.

Maybe time to start giving it serious consideration and give your preps the once over - just in case.

"Any community that fails to prepare, with the expectation that the federal government will come to the rescue, will be tragically wrong." Michael Leavitt, HHS Secretary.
