To have a lawful system of immigration we cannot allow or accept everyone who wishes to do so.  As we move into the year 2017 - which now once again nears a close - The American citizens deserve to have a dream as well - a better economy and jobs. As companies have moved offshore and millions of jobs have been lost - what had begun as bringing people into California to help harvest crops and serve as low paid slaves to the rich - has now overwhelmed the economy and the medical system. After 3 generations of welfare, food stamps, and open borders, it had to end.

The executive order issued by President Barack Obama was unconstitutional and exceeded the power of  the Executive branch what should have been handled by congress and now - they have a responsibility to do so.  It was illegal. The Judicial branch is not elected -yet have an important part in the balance of our democracy.

Propaganda is propaganda. Calling them Dreamers and saying it is a tragedy - is to ignore that unemployment is an issue for citizens of the U.S. who are competing to have the very jobs the illegal immigrants have taken away.

This, for some legislators is a bitter pill - for them to have to take the responsibility to advance the interests of the American people.

Oh yeah - taking back all those jobs on farms and in meat packing plants that legal citizens are itching to fill at less than minimum wage and no benefits. Whoo hoo...Beer

So families get broken up, and US educated kids who often only know this country will be deported. No big deal given ALL the benefits that ending DACA will bring.

But, but, but MS-13, rapists, bad hombres, right?

What he said, only with exclamation marks!!!

One of the least attractive human traits is to automatically eschew blame, by blaming someone else.  I knew a drug addict who tried to claim the local witches had cursed her disabled child - whose problems cold not possibly stem from her mother's perpetually altered chemical state.

It can't be my fault - that would be too nasty - it must be someone else - lets see who looks likely - MEXICANS!!!  How very handy -  Lets build a wall and keep them out.

The sad truth, for those not too stupid/self-deluded to see it, is that immigrant, minimum-wage-and-below labor, from the poor but not lazy, both powers the US economy and gives a nice leg-up to those who otherwise would have no appreciable economic future - except to join the drugs trade.

Again, PUT THE BUCKET DOWN, MED; YOU ARE A NICE GUY - IT DOESN'T SUIT YOU.

I am going to have to learn what the expression "put the bucket down means - especially now that it is a macro.

So far, can't find it.

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/bucket

It is illegal for a president, for whatever reason, to bypass Congress who has voted a bill down, and use an executive order to make up his own laws.

This issue has been referred to Congress where it should be dealt with. They can do whatever they please and be as liberal as they can muster the votes for... or is that the real problem?

Congress has an approval rating now of 10%

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/03/politics/republicans-congress-approval-drops/index.html

This is current. Their eyes are more fixed on the 2018 elections than serving the American people - and many of them - the legal Americans.

Obama "Targeting Dreamers is wrong and cruel".

reply:

Ignoring the citizens of America in favor of illegal immigrants is targeting most of those in our country is is worse than cruel. It is killing our industry, the jobs, and our economy. We do not need a minority powered nation versus people simply elected for the stance on issues not racial and special interest groups.

I watched as a bloodless war took over my birth state and residence in California. We rented to over 3 generations of people many of whom never worked and had to go into some of the most dangerous neighbors armed to collect the rent.

While fair and decent to many people, helping and giving people time, referring them to places to get food and clothing, still by the end of the last decade in many parts of San Jose, whites are the minority.

They are turned away from universities, denied benefits, jobs, contracts, housing, and many services which are given preferentially to those of color.

The U.S. cannot afford to support an endless stream of unregulated people into our country.

Now illegals were getting social security from a system almost gutted and soon to fail.

Stephen Miller, a spokesman for Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, a leading Republican opponent of Obama's executive actions, said making immigrants illegally in the U.S. eligible for Social Security and Medicare "is an attack on working families."

"The amnestied illegal immigrants are largely older, lower-wage and lower-skilled and will draw billions more in benefits than they will pay in," he said.

Congress has the freedom to fix this. They should be the ones to deal with and have been given time to do so.

Socialism does not work. It never has it never will. There is always an elitist group who control and the masses which suffer waiting for it to work. Look at Russia. We did have a good medical care system until they put million of illegal immigrants on it.

As for the box, steps down. Sometime you have to be heard above the irrational screams of the truly demented. I may need it another day.  And let's face it, all of our days are numbered. We must do as much as we can - while we can.

Once again, America shows how a good Christian country looks after the NEEDY....

GOD BLESS American.....

I can understand changing things, ,but not punishing children you have LET IN, you can't send back children to a country that they never lived in, that's inhumane....

a friend of mine has all but had to close his landscaping business
they ran all the Mexicans off
and he couldn't find any white boys to do the work

TRUE STORY

You must admit, it is interesting discussing things here. I do read what people post and I understand about the whole dynamics of landscaping businesses, child care, maids, and people coming here to work for what other people cannot support their families with.

You might be interested in knowing I picked prunes, apricots, and even cabbage - strawberries with spraying planes flying over us and got ill, and had many friends side by side in those fields which are now Apple Computer.  I even learned Spanish and was in Mexico and people were decent to me and could understand me.

There was a war and the White man lost. I wasn't a poor white boy - but to my father - who worked days driving a truck and came home with sweat turned to salt - he said - first you learn the value of a dollar and then you use your skills and you will never have to do hard labor again.

Well, he was right. Although working triples or an ambulance for days seemed like hell.

Things must change. Those unpopular educated people with history books point out that nations in the past who have had slave revolts and why?  Egypt - they brought the Hyksos in to work for nothing
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyksos

and finally who marched out with all the spoils for gold to build their new calf?

I am a Christian and sure - I feel for all the children who bear the curse of their parents coming into America illegally. Can we just give them all blanket immunity?

That was basically what happened. Get out of deportation free card.

The problem the Congress is having is that no matter what they pass to save money, it will cost them votes. They have built up this massive infrastructure of handouts and we are now maxed on our budget and if they don't get with it, the government will shut down.

The media is basically confused. Obama did a "I can't do this it wouldn't be legal" (he was a lawyer - he knows law) and then he did it.

They can have all the close ups and rallies of illegals and I feel for them - yet we have to get control of our borders and we can't just give blanket amnesty to everyone who made it across. More will come if we do and it will never end.

So, perhaps some poe-white-boys like some computer CEOs I know who are unemployed will be hitting the gardening circuit. I see a lot of them in Walmart and glad to have the job.

if Trump is correct about the unemployment rate being only 4.4%
then we are easily at FULL employment
are these "dreamers" taking all the high skilled high paying jobs ???
I think NOT

maybe the problem is with the H2B visas being offered wily nilly ???
big corporations LOVE hiring foreign computer techs at skimpy wages
maybe that is where the REAL problem lies ???

even Trump has hired,on NUMEROUS occasions foreign workers hasn't he ???LOL
and Ivanka produces most of her clothing line where ?
overseas of courseLOL

and then there is this

Twitter Jeers After Melania Wears $2,250 Italian Dress in Pic for President Trump's 'American-Made' Post

I already explained the bucket, Med.  I will try again.

We cannot kill the xenophobia tree, it is growing in our genes.

We can choose to water or prune it.

Would you like that one in small words as well.

Once again - Hillary did a 180 on her thoughts on DACA.

If you all are going to rant about Trump forever, with Hillary out on the book trail - it's my turn.

Not really. She is in the news today and her book is out and the issue on DACA is very relevant. What one really has to do (my Mother was a hard core Democrat) is determine from all this waffling - is what the Democrats honestly believe and would do if they got back some seats in Congress.

From a totally objective view, there was no good candidate for president.  It was the lesser of two weevils.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weevil

If they had put Colin Powell up on the ticket - maybe everyone would have been happy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Powell

I would have voted for him and I feel he could have been presidential. Also as a four-star general - he would make a good commander and chief during these nasty times with North Korea.

Eisenhower was good.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_D._Eisenhower

So where has this quality of person gone?  The Swamp won't let them in. They try and shoot down anyone who would be a powerful person and as a result we had an election similar to Star Search or American Idol.

It was time for the gong - but there was none.  Sanders, although a serious socialist, was still better than Hillary. In classic Clinton machinations, Sanders was dispatched by treachery from his own party.

Closing line here -

We need people with ideas not criticism or big scandals. We need good ideas to solve terrible problems - not a lot of comedians imitating Trump.  America needs to get it together and stop fighting each other or we all will be speaking one of several other languages daily.
