Urgent Care clinics are generally cheaper than seeing your regular MD,at least here in the States
plus -no appointment necessary my employer also has a Nurse Practicioner available 5 days a week to see minor health issues cost is only $20 we also have telemedicine available, see a doc on your smart phone without leaving the house course this is only for minor aches and pains |

FluMom - Yes, our hospitals are all building Urgent care units! In our country if you can't afford to go to a doctor you go to the E-room! When a person in the U.S. with no insurance goes to the Emergency room it costs the hospital thousands of dollars! Most E-rooms can't turn people away so E-rooms get backed up and real emergency's don't get the attention (even with very good triage) that they deserve! People die because poor people with a non-emergency problem are clogging up the system! If you are having a heart attack you don't want to die because someone with a broken bone got there before you! Hopefully, the Urgent Care Unit is taking the pressure off the E-rooms! During a true pandemic, even with these new units, the entire system WILL collapse!

I have noticed that there are LOTS of Urgent Care/Emergency facilities being built all over the Denver Metro area. What do these people in the hospital business know that we do not know.
There are so many of these facilities going up I do not know how all of them are going to make any money. Are they getting ready for a deadly flu epidemic or some other type of epidemic or, are they seeing that regular doctors are declining and people will need a doctor on every corner to see when ill, or are they just greedy? Are any of you seeing this in your large city areas? Is it just Denver or all over the U.S.? Something is going on I just don't know what. |
