Can be used to monitor sick family members in your home. Lessens your exposure, alows you time to take care of your self so you keep your self healthy, and more able to give better care.

Great idea. Being new grand parents we have one transmitter and two receivers. Terrific aid.

Be sure to get the AC/DC model and have plenty of spare batteries. If power goes out you can still use it.

walkie talkies are also good to have.  Not only can you use them in a sick room, but if phone lines are down, you can communicate with loved ones.  Good for earthquakes to.  The new ones go about 5 - 10 miles.

As to walkie talkies, lethargic and/or very ill patients may not be able to key the mic.
