Last summer I found these gallon sized glass jars at a yard sale.  They were in perfect condition but the lids are mettle and starting to rust.

Does anyone know where I can get new lids? or how I can make them air tight for food storage?

I don't know if you ever found the answer to your question but I have an idea. Could you put plastic wrap or mylar over the jar and then tighten the lid on the jar? I can't guarantee that it would work but it might be worth a try if you can't find new lids for them.
