In the news is outbreaks of H5N1 the deadly birdflu . Keep in mind that the 1918 Spanish flu killer of 50 million, started in France. So the 2007 birdflu is finally in France where it started its outbreak in 1916 or 1917, some 90 years ago. Why does Europe and France have any significance? It has significance because climate and temperature play a major role in how the virus becomes epidemic. Somehow viruses have a temperature control. They are like humans in that they are most active in the proper climate and weather. Perhaps in the future we will be able to trace the 1918 virus back to Asia, where it likely started to be a problem of say perhaps 1910 or 1911 or 1912 and when it finally made its way to Europe of the World War One camps in France, that the Spanish flu finally evolved into human transmission mode. So now that H5N1 is in France and Germany by July of 2007, it should, characteristically evolve into a Spanish 1918 type virus. So I suspect that for the next 2 years the amount of news and data of birdflu will become to dominate the news and will put the USA elections into the shadows and even shorten the Iraq War. For how can you be fighting a war in Iraq when you have panic in the streets of Europe and USA. Also, there is this possibility. Suppose birdflu entered Iraq of the Spanish flu variety of 1918. It is possible that Iraq would settle down itself in the presence of a birdflu pandemic. Not saying that birdflu targets insurgents. But that birdflu may unite all the Iraqis to solving birdflu. |
