Spain investigating three possible cases of Swine Flu

All three cases are people who have recently returned from Mexico

The Spanish Ministry for Health says it will take 48 hours to confirm whether three suspected cases of Swine Flu, reported in Bilbao, Valencia and Albacete, are the same virus which has caused more than 80 deaths in Mexico.

All three cases are people who have returned from Mexico with ‘flu-like symptoms’. One young man is being treated in quarantine in the La Fe Hospital in Valencia where his condition is described as stable, and the patients in Bilbao and Almansa, Albacete are reported to be responding to treatment.

In a press conference on Sunday afternoon, Spanish Minister for Health, Trinidad Jiménez, said that there was no emergency situation but passengers returning to Spain from Mexico were being asked to fill in a questionnaire at Barajas Airport.
