Hi everyone...I haven't seen this posted anywhere, so if it is already, I apologize.
I see a lot of people asking how to set up a room or area for a sick person in their family. This is very important! I was thinking it would be good to have some information and visual aids that show people who aren't familiar with donning PPE and removing it in an isolation room. I was trying to find some information about this, and I found this. I think it describes it very well. Now, many people may not have the yellow gowns that people wear in isolation rooms, but people could come up with other things to use, such as a garbage bag fashion like an apron, etc. Something disposable would be best. Anyway, if anyone is interested, I could go on and on about setting up a room, what to have in there, disinfecting stuff, etc. If anyone thinks that would be useful information to have, please let me know, and I will write something up. In the meantime, I'll attach a good article I found that describes the routine nurses and health-care workers use to don PPE and remove it to care for a patient in isolation. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dvrd/spb/mnpages/vhfmanual/section4.htm Sorry again if this has been posted already. Another post here got me thinking about this! |
