Has anyone stocked up on mouthwash..kids and I have cold and when I went to see doc today he reccomended that I get mouthwash and soak our toothbrushes in it..never thought of it..the germs on your toothbruch can cause you to get the cold back...I change ours every month, but have never thought of the germs on toothbrushes..we wash hands alot and I clean essentials..but just thought I would pass the knowledge on...

Listerine is what I've always used, and have lots of, yes they say via your toothbrush you can recontaminate yourself. Infact, I've read a few articles on if you or the family is sick and having a hard time getting rid of the bug to soak the toothbrush in disinfectant mouthwash. It makes sense! I have little ones and they can be pretty absent minded about what there toothbrush comes in contact with, with me I am a bit OCD(obsessive compulsive) about toothbrushes since they do go in our mouth. So once a week a spray the brush with my bottle that has my diluted bleach in it and rinse them really good. I also change the brushes every 3 mo's or so. At the dollar store you can get a big spray bottle fill it with water and a bit of bleach. I clean everything with it! And I must say we don't get sick too much around here!
