Just figured I'd throw this out there.  If you all recall the financial crisis that hit last year or so, you may recall how the Gov't came out and said it was all contained to subprime mortgages, etc, and not to worry.  We then learned, as time went by, that the banks were basically bankrupt (and still are, IMHO, though by changing the mark to market jazz, they have hoodwinked a lot of people), etc, etc.  Then we had Secretary Paulson come out and said that the U.S. financial system was basically sound, etc.  Fast forward to his testimony on the Hill re the situation at the time, and they, and he, thought we were heading towards a Mad Max type situation (at the time).

Point?  Don't listen to what they say, watch what they do, and draw conclusions from that.  We now see that the CDC is mixing H1N1 with H5N1, to see what happens.  Prudent?  Yes.  It might also be an indication of what they think will happen next.  Your mileage may vary.

Liten to what they do, not what they say....very good advice, that can be applied to many areas of life.  I particularly keep that thought in mind when it comes to political and military happenings (or non-happenings) taking place around the world.

The tail wags the dog in terms of listening i.e. media versus watching twitter and direct contact information. You must first verify, and it is hard, an event has even really happened. Creative media totally make things up at times for the lack of news and the need to fill space.

A biblical quote by their fruits you shall know them - is your best bet. The final outcome of a series of actions is whether it is good or bad. Look at the campaign promises. Look at what has been done to fulfill them. Promises get you elected. Failure to come through leads you from a Nixon landslide victory election to disaster.
