My impression is that this H1N1-virus is not the same as the 2009-version and therefor is widespread. People who have had the 2009 form or vaccination seem to be not well protedted. (I also read that on H.Niman's info).

This H1N1-virus seem to be spreading to Europe. Spain already seeing many cases (according to google flutrends). The European CDC is also mentioning an increase in flu in Iceland and Scotland. Is the form in Spain from Mexico and the form in NW-Europe from Canada ?

So far NW Europe did see a lot of storm but no winter. This is going to change. With that also the flu-season will get more severe here. In my opinion the info from the US and Canada is very alarming. Schools will (try to) reopen tomorrow wich will bring more cases (with long incubation-times).

What worries me most is that in the official counts H1N1 will be under represented. People die due to pneumonia, heart/organfaillure but not due to the flu in the statistics. If an ECMO-machine to keep a person a live needs 35 staff, highly specialized, to keep functioning, lets hope that staff does not get the flu !
