Finding a Flu Shot in the Bay Area

Empty vials of H1N1 vaccine sit on a table during a drive thru H1N1 vaccination clinic at Doctor's Medical Center November 5, 2009 in San Pablo, California. California public health officials say that shortages of the H1N1 vaccinations may make it imopssible to vaccinate people at risk of contracting the H1N1 flu. County health agencies across California have received less than 45% of the vaccines ordered.

2 Counties Report New Flu Deaths

The flu has claimed the lives of more Bay Area residents in Alameda, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, health officials report. Four of those reported dead Friday were from Santa Clara County. Alameda and San Mateo counties reported one fatality apiece. That brings the Bay Area tally to 40 flu-related deaths this winter season. Friday morning, Dr. Ron Chapman of the California Dept. of Public Health, said that the number of deaths statewide had jumped by 56 to a total of 202 confirmed deaths for the season. Four of those deaths were of young children.
Here's a Bay Area county-by-county breakdown:

•Santa Clara County - 14 deaths
•Alameda County - 5 deaths
•Marin County - 2 deaths
•San Mateo County - 5 deaths
•San Francisco - 3 death
•Contra Costa County - 5 deaths
•Solano County - 1 death
•Sonoma County - 4 deaths
•Napa County - 1 death
