Yes, the first one is funny.  I posted this stuff here in the Off-Topic Discussion forum because of the nature of the subject matter. I think it's better than posting it in one of the primary forums on AFT, yes?  As for the second meme...I lived in San Francisco in the mid-80s and watched as hundreds of people died from AIDS. Everyday the San Francisco Chronicle, the Examiner, and the BAR (Bay Area Reporter) were filled with obituaries of dead people. People that I knew and liked. Once so vibrant and alive, San Francisco was like a ghost town, with people very afraid of this new deadly illness. President Reagan was in office during all this, and not ONCE did he mention AIDS until 1987, and only then, I suspect he did because the issue had become a global nightmare. So, the second meme was not funny. Not at all. But it serves to illustrate a message of "Never Again. Never forget". And it also serves notice to the right-wing movement that we will be watching them. Which brings me to my next post.... |

I see no flaw in your argument.
Regarding the last meme: Those who know me know I never back down from defending the innocent in any fight. If my 5ft tall mother were to wantonly attack a 6'5" wrestler, I would have to defend the wrestler... then badger both until they became friends. That's my flaw. ...and the situations are most often none of my beeswax. :( |
