Do not trust Kim Jong Un. We are back to three options - Nuke them - Strangle them economically - or accept them as a new nuclear power.  It is a stall. Nothing tangible is required or has been done and especially in terms of developing biological weapons.

North Korea’s military has 300 to 400 attack drones capable of carrying biological and chemical weapons that could reach the South Korean capital of Seoul within one hour, according to a high-level defector from the isolated regime ruling Pyongyang.

The claim from a 42-year-old former third secretary who fled Kim Jong-un’s regime in 2015 coincides with heightened international concern over a different threat from North Korea: mobile, medium- to long-range missiles that Pyongyang has tested with increasing frequency.

After successfully launching one of the solid-fuel missiles Sunday, North Korean leaders said they are ready to begin deploying and mass-producing the Pukgukson-2 projectiles, which Pyongyang says are capable of reaching major U.S. military bases in Japan.

comment: Hitler was talking peace as they prepared to invade Poland. The only leverage we had to enforce an economic sanction on North Korea is China and we are currently implementing tariffs to offset a $500,000,000 dollar trade deficit. That is enough to finance the entire Chinese military budget.  In the meantime, a virus may already have been released in the U.S. and we have no defense against it.

Our health care system is abysmal and falling apart - the Obama disaster whose premiums may triple in some cases. Not a good time to get hit by a bio-terrorist attack.

There is no doubt that Kim Jong-un will use chemical and/or biological weapons of mass-destruction. The government knows he has them.

Press Statement
Heather Nauert
Department Spokesperson
Washington, DC
March 6, 2018

On February 22, 2018, the United States determined under the Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991 (CBW Act) that the Government of North Korea used the chemical warfare agent VX to assassinate Kim Jong Nam, in the Kuala Lumpur airport.

These sanctions are in addition to existing U.S. comprehensive sanctions against targeting unlawful North Korean activities. The sanctions took effect upon publication of this determination in the Federal Register on March 5, 2018.

The United States strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons to conduct an assassination. This public display of contempt for universal norms against chemical weapons use further demonstrates the reckless nature of North Korea and underscores that we cannot afford to tolerate a North Korean WMD program of any kind.

Imagine if the North Korean regime is about to fall – perhaps to an internal coup. What would happen to North Korea’s 13 (or more) types of biological weapons? The head of the FDPMU team asked me directly for a list of the 13 bioweapons. They are as follows: Bacillus anthracis (anthrax), Clostridium botulinum (botulism), Vibrio cholerae (cholera), Bunyaviridae hantavirus (Korean hemorrhagic fever), Yersinia pestis (plague), Variola (smallpox), Salmonella typhi (typhoid fever), Coquillettidia fuscopennata (yellow fever), Shigella (dysentery), Brucella (brucellosis), Staphylococcus aureus (staph), Rickettsia prowazekii (typhus fever), and T-2 mycotoxin (alimentary toxic aleukia).

That’s another point one of the FDPMU team members brought up – the scenario in which North Korea doesn’t use its biological WMDs, but rather sells them. Pakistan was mentioned as a potential buyer. ISIS, al-Qaida, China, Iran, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, drug-trafficking cartels and other state and non-state actors could all be cited as possible outlets.
