Hi everyone, I.m pretty new to posting here, but noticed that there hadnt really been any new threads or posts on the subject of disinfecting for some weeks. It's possible that I'm not looking in the right place, but Id' like to hear some thoughts on how we might disinfect any canned goods, fruit, vegetables, etc. that might be purchased after the pandemic begins, if indeed, it does. I consider myself a "conservative" prepper with about 6 weeks food, water and supplies, but ample protective gear (masks, gloves, etc) should I need to venture out later for more. Obviously, we'd run the risk that any store bought goods would probably have been touched multiple times by others before we bring them home. I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows a safe way to disinfect these items. Thanks in advance! |

The sun will disinfect items if left exposed to its rays. How rude of me!
Hello and welcome to the forum. Looking forward to exchanging ideas

Legacy, welcome aboard. Any canned item wipe down with an anitseptic disposable cloth, make sure contents come to a full boil. Handle everything with gloves. |
