I ordered some powdered milk, powdered eggs, powdered margarine and powdered cheese yesterday from a website - it has free shipping for orders over $75. I ended up getting the powdered milk (non-fat milk) for $1.50 per pound with shipping - it ended up being $30 for a 2 10 pound cans of it. Is this a good deal? Just wanted opinions before I ordered any more...if any of you want to check it out, here's the link:

FYI, those are not 10 pound cans, they are number 10 cans.  10# is 10 pound, #10 is number 10.  #10 is a size, not weight.

Says it makes 4.75 gallons.  At Sams, you can get a 22qt box for well under $10.  You are paying for the packaging.

Allow me to suggest canned/dehydrated food for long term, and balance with cheaper, but just as useful "store stuff" for shorter term.  My powdered milk in the box is dated 2008.

22qt box at Sams club is $7.39.  That's 5 1/2 gallons of milk.  For $24 you can get 16 1/2 gallons.

It's good to have a mix or both.  You can use the boxed stuff in baking and making hot chocolate...
