Maybe all of us need to step back and think this crisis through a little more throughly, some things are coming to mind  I want to share.

The longer the crisis lasts the larger the group you need to survive well will be.  Each of us is building up a supply of survival capital but I doubt than any of us are rich enough to build a big enough stock to last this whole crisis out on our own.  The improvident neighbors many of you fear may actually become an asset if you handle things right.  Unlike a point disaster this one is most likely going to drag on for months and months, the longer it lasts the more energy you're going to need and the more risks you're going to take.  More people means more energy and wider spread of the risks you can do.

Once we know the time frame from infection to onset we'll be in a position to start forming communities, communities to share the work loads and risks.  I figure communities will evolve where the core sends out scavengers and protects their families while their gone and also while the scavengers wait in quarantine prior to retuning to the group.  Sharing work and helping each other is going to the best way survive, like it or not.  It's better to work than to try and live off of stored capital.
