Based on *******Flu Tracker I understand that two major genetic chances need special attention. D225G showed up in Utah this August. I understand that H274Y showed up in Mississippi and Louisiana in November. D225G means the virus-receptorbinding takes place in the lungs ? (This is a question). H274Y means Tamiflu does not work any longer. Both changes were not around in 2009, if I'm correct-meaning H1N1-virus now are a bigger danger.
I also inform myself on recombinomics-site. H.Niman will try to find out sequences of newest cases. Am I correct in expecting further changes that might make vaccinations less effective. Based on ******* I have the impression that H1N1 was a big problem in Mexico last months, also deadly. Is the virus in the southern US the same virus as in Mexico and Canada ? It will only be a matter of time before this H1N1 will show up in Europe.

Another difference compared to 2009 is the number of other virusses and the increasing resistence of bacteria increasing chances for co-infections. Timing is also not good with Christmas/New Year and school-restarting in January.
