Does anybody have thoughts as to the availability of electricity as compared to the way the electricity is created? Hydro, Coal, Nuclear, etc. My thoughts are that coal powered will be the first to go down given the supply chain needs. Not sure about nuclear or hydro. |

Possibly coal, but very well could be natural gas turbines, due to supply / pumping / transmission issues. Not sure how much coal is kept onsite for a disruption. |

Hydro typically is used to meet peak power demands - in my state anyway. It works well for that since it is easy enough to turn off and on. Having that ability prevents building new power plants to meet peak demand and that holds down costs. I believe if other sources of power went off line that hydro would help some people but probably very few. I would agree with your reasoning regarding coal fired plants - they are labor intensive to support compared with hydro or nuclear. |
