I know I'm really late posting this month, I have been working and vacationing in Florida, so have just been really busy. One awesome thing I was able to do since I was in Florida and we drove, I was able to bring back a baby orange tree, lemon tree and palm tree for super cheap. I have been wanting to order them forever from the seed catalogs but they were so expensive. So I am excited about getting those planted when we get back. I'm also anxious to see how our garden is doing since we have been gone. We ate spinach and onions  in our salad before we left. What is everyone else working on?

We've been eating and selling Asparagus for several weeks now! All the trimmings I blanch and freeze for cream of Asparagus soup later in the year! We have some good customer/friends that pay us $3.00/LB and we deliver every other day along with eggs and fresh salad greens. Strawberries are blooming! Sugar snaps are starting to climb trellises and we planted some tomatoes today, Mortgage Lifters and Big boys! Poke is comin on! Almost time for poke sallet!
Buy more ammo!

We got home last night and got to see the garden this morning, we had a lot of spinach ready and some onion greens we can cut and use, a little bit of lettuce is ready. We were only gone 10 days but everything has grown so much. We thought we lost our pepper plants and tomato plants to the freeze, but the pepper plants and one tomato survived.

I just found this article online.  As a guy who witnessed the ML King riots in Chicago as a young boy, the author's logic seems compelling.

We all prep for many reasons, and we need to realize that we should prep for ALL of them (possibilities)!

I planted out my (few) tomato seedings in the unheated greenhouse to early, and now I am having to grow more seedlings to replace the ones that died.  However, the chili plants, grown and planted out at the same time are doing well - so they must be much more hardy than tomatoes.

[The chili seeds were from last year's crop, now I need to practice saving other seeds.]

We have eaten radishes, spinach, green onions and lettuce so far, it's been nice to have fresh salads and just go in the backyard to pick everything. The carrots should be ready soon, the broccoli is growing nicely. Tomatoes and strawberries still have awhile.

We have decided next year to go much bigger with the garden. So far we have been getting enough salad for 2 people about every other day, spinach, lettuce, raddish, green onion salad. The tomato plants are just starting flower.

Swedish government gives prepping advice, under the pretext of "preparing for war" -

Salmon balls, tea lights and wet wipes. These are just some of the things Sweden has advised every household to stock up on in the case of war.

Its government has sent leaflets to 4.7 million households explaining how to best prepare for various major crises.

These include terror and cyber-attacks, natural disasters, serious accidents and military conflicts.

Those who prepare improve "the ability of the country as a whole to cope with a major strain", the booklet reads.

"Think about how you and people around you will be able to cope with a situation in which society's normal services are not working as they usually do," it adds.
