Does anyone have experience with these?  I got a bunch and am looking to repackage and store some of my food in them, but I read somewhere that they are not good with an oxygen absorper.  Something about the ziplock seal not being tight enough.

Also, are they all food-grade?  I just assumed they are, but it's something simple as a bad storage container that can really ruin your stash.  And does the mil (thickness) of the bag make a difference?

Florida girl,

I didn't know that mylar bags had ziplocks. . . I thought that you ironed them to get the seal.  Is there material on the other side of the zipper so that you could you iron it AFTER you zipped it??

Wow, mylar bags with ziploc ... where'd you get 'em at?

You didn't say what size you had, so I'm assuming they're gallon sized or slightly larger..  What you could do is fill up your mylar bags and remove as much air as possible.  Then put them into buckets, add your oxygen packets (about 1 - 2 per bag), "burp" it and seal it up.  IMO, it won't hurt the packets if your only going to open the bucket for a minute to remove a bag from there.  Then you can just reseal and "burp" the air out of the bucket again.
