ElverBeen busy, working 2 jobs and doing overtime daily in one. If your talking about unemployment, we need to get people trained for the jobs that do exist. The second job I have just can not find people to work (IT). Its crazy I can take as much overtime as I want there is just not enough qualified people. I think a lot of people are sitting around waiting for some low end factory job to come by and grab them away or agriculture which just is not going to happen. Yesterday I worked 18 hours, day before 19 and they just keep calling me for more, have to turn them down so I can get a breather and a nap, not exactly a spring chicken if you know what I mean.
On your question, this thread is pretty much a political theatre post so lets just keep it there. Besides its way more fun to play in conspiricy land than reality. Now if I understand this right, my company hits their corporate profit limit on 4/30, so then I'll be laid off, get to collect 99 weeks of unemployment. Then when that runs out I'll file for welfare & food stamps. Some of my co-workers are probably illegal aliens, so they'll be able to file for SSI, supplemental security income. I think this is the democratic way, don't you? |

I've never been employed by poor people.
And if you cut taxes to the poor and middle class, exactly how much money do you think they're going to be sending back to them?
Furthermore, if you really want the super rich to "Pay Their Fair Share" why don't the lefties get behind a flat tax system that doesn't let people claim anything off their taxes. Pay ten percent off the top, in check form, to the .gov on April 15th?
Oh, that's right, the Democrat Leadership might actually have to pay taxes for a change, and especially people will see exactly how much they're paying in taxes and they're sure not going to vote Democrat after that. Ever. They'll have to invent new people to vote Democrat instead of having every felon, illegal alien, and dead person vote for them.

What you FAIL TO REALIZE is that even if the government stole 100% of the assets of all the truly wealthy people in this country & continued to tax their incomes at 100%, it wouldn't come close to paying off the debt, much of which your buddy Obama created in the last 3.5 years. Obama and the Fed ran this debt up more in 3.5 years than GWB did in all 8 of his years.
The real problem is that our country has spent more than they've taken in for years and we now have an exponential debt problem. So, get off your "tax the rich" scenario, because it will do NOTHING to save us.
There are only 2 choices.
1) Spend, spend, spend, & print, print print, which will postpone the inevitable collapse, but not indefinitely. This is the path we are currently on and will create huge inflation in the meantime until we have a deflationary collapse because people won't be able to afford anything.
2) Cut spending on entitlements, raise taxes, and quit printing money. We just might have a chance to get out of this, but it will be truly painful for everyone.
Either way, I think WE'RE GOING DOWN, so quit trying to blame the Republicans and the wealthy.
In either case, you had better quit blaming and start worrying big time how you are going to protect your home and your family when the SHTF.

(And BOY did it backfire) How about a President that's gave massive sums of money to political backers that literally stole billions of taxpayer dollars when they declared bankruptcy? Oh that happened too you say? How about a President that takes credit for killing a terrorist leader that used the tools and programs he himself decried for years, and only under direct threat from military leaders that they would leak the fact that the President knew where that terrorist leader was? This same killing was in direct opposition to his original intent which was to take him alive and try him in a civilian court in New York, but ordered him killed specifically to save face? Oh...
