OK--I am letting you know.  He planned, executed, and won the war in Afghanistan.  Remember?  Oh, and please don't tell me the Taliban are back in power--yes, they keep popping up their dirty little heads, and we keep taking them out.

" yes, they keep popping up their dirty little heads, and we keep taking them out. "

They and their warlord allies actually control about 75% of the country. A
battle was won,  but not the war.

MAYBE that is why the Bible says,

"Better to trust in the LORD than to trust in man" Psalms188:8....NO one can be a 100% perfect leader and we shouldn't put all of our trust in a human...after all we all screw up.

Perhaps God stuck it right in the very center of the bible so we wouldn't miss it??????Tongue

Godddddddd I love this forum.  We are allowed to talk about other things that are important in our world today(like this crisis between Israel and Hezbollah)!...Thanksss Albert!...that being said...my opinion on this is that Israel was justified in retiliating.  I have heard it said on the news many times so far that perhaps that two soldiers doesn't justify a war.  I tend to think that Israel is right because it must send a firm message that consequences will be in order for misconduct.  And what I truly don't get is why in the world Lebanon allowing these "thugs"(Hezbollah) to reside and do such things!!!!!!!!!!!!!....why isn't the Lebanon gov. rounding them up and jailing them?.....As far as Iran is concerned, this leader they have is truly "evil" and he seems to be looking for a way to "start up something"...just imagine this thug having a nuclear bomb...that for sure will be the start of the third world war.  And let me not go into N. Korea.....my God what a quack their leader is.  This is truly dangerous times...prep on all!!!!!!!

Nice site. Very bright and airy, like an outdoor cafe. This site is more like a coffee house...more secluded and comfortable. Both with distinct personalities. Maybe I'm nuts...does anyone else think that forums have personalities? moods? an atmosphere?

Do forum administrators/designers ever consider this type of thing when planning a site? What type of feel they want the forum to have?

Definately feel that forums have own  personalities, moods, atmospheres. One thing that makes it feel coffee shop atmosphere is the black background.

In some forums I feel like I am sitting in a stadium with EVERYONE listening to every word waiting and wanting to "pounce on what you say".

The way Albert keeps all the "goofies" off the board  and gently manages people amazes me.

Why Diode,........ I'm surprised with you!

Of course Pres. Bush has waged a war and won.

Unfortunately,...... it was with American working class taxpayers.

I dont support Israel at all. They have lied to us,stolen from us,attacked us and bought our representatives lock stock and barrel...Aipac is a huge scandal. Now they are  having thousands of their citizens cruising forums and chatrooms all over the net spreading their propagands as legitimate discussion.I see their butchery in Lebanon..another land grab by a country with NO stated borders..and the poor Lebanese get called terrorists for trying to defend themselves.I am sick of this atrocoty played out in our name...we are supposed to be the country who stands for what is right with the world. That has been stolen from us...I suggest a lot of the rabid Israel supporters read some real history and shut off the steady propaganda for Israels benefit...Just take a good hard look at how many people with dual Israeli and American citizenship hold the top offices in this country.I never thought a dual citizen could even hold a top security position.Seems like a conflict of interest to me.Just like Dov Zackheim..(another dual israeli citizen)...the comptroller of the pentagon budget who was in charge when 2.7 trillion dollars went missing...it was announced the day before 911 and quietly allowed to die. Then he promptly schooched off to Israel and is free as a bird.Think of that next time you cant afford to pay your bills and eat in the same week!A trillion dollars is a dollar a second for 36,500 years.Your great great grandbabies will be doing without to pay for that alone.Wake up people and smell the deception..theres a whole world of real truth on the internet for those willing to turn off the tv and do some real research.I may have made an easy target of myself for saying what I believe is the truth...but saying nothing would be worse.

Of course, it's too late now, but I had the answer to the entire problem.  if I had been president when 9/11 hit, here's what I would have done.

My first call would have been to Putin in Russia, letting him know that bombs were going to be sent to the middle east. I would advise him to stay out of the mess.

I would have wipped out absolutely all of the areas where Islam is present. I've read the real Coran and translated it into English. I'm not talking about that "watered down version" that you buy in the bookstores, I'm talking about the real McCoy.  If you read that book, even if you were not a Christian, you would understand why I would have done what I would have done if I'd been president.

Sure, I'd been impreached, probably tried for war crimes and hung, but I assure you, the problem would have been solved once and for all.  It would have been a small price for me to pay.

Valkyrie:  ..and the poor Lebanese get called terrorists for trying to defend themselves

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lebanese people are not being called terrorists,  it's Hezbollah terrorists, whose leader is a puppet of Iran, that started the war.  Lebanon has Hezbollah in it's leadership and for years have allowed the terrorists to arm themselves at their southern border.

Israel has the right to defend itself. Israel took time to try to warn civillians to leave southern Lebanon before attacking.  It would be a much easier war to fight if they didn't care about killing innocents.  Have you considered how disgusting it is that Hezbollah is using innocent people as shields, imbedding their evil in people's homes?

Israel does not want to "land grab" as you say.  It is trying create a buffer zone free of terrorists, so they can not target Israeli cities. Israel has been giving up land trying to negotiate peace, which can never happen with Islam.  Islam will not allow it.

Try reading the history of Islam.

Western civilization just does not understand basic Islamic thinking.  They truly believe they are commanded by Allah to wipe Jews and Chrisitians off of the face of the earth.  You can not negotiate peace with them.  As Mohammad said, "War is Deception."  He set the example for negotiating peace with an enemy until you are strong enough to annihilate him.  It is called "the Quraysh Model."  This was the ten-year peace treaty Mohammad signed with the Quraysh trib of Mecca, which within a year he broke by destroying them.  This is how he conquered Mecca and made it the holiest site in Islam - through treachery.

It is obviously the model that Hezbohlah, and other Islamic terrorist use to this day.  It's exactly what they have done in Lebannon and Gaza.  Agree to peace only to buy time to build weapons, gain strategic land, and attack Israel.  Confess Islam or face the sword is all they know.  It's their only purpose as taught in the Koran.

The combination of their irrational, blind hatred and teaching of jihad  with the Western cultures ignorance of Islamic roots and history is what I fear most.

Sounds like you need to do some futher research and don't just let some internet propaganda sight brainwash you.

A good book to try is  Everlasting Hatred:  The Roots of Jihad by Hal Lindsey

Anybody who doesnt agree with the agenda of the US or Israel is automatically labled a terrorist. The Lebanese people are being slaughtered as if they were terrorists.  Their entire infrastructure is being destroyed so they have nowhere to come home to if it ever was allowed by Israel. The entire world is outraged by the neverending outrages commited  by Israel and our own government. What they do is EXACTLY what they accuse their enemies of doing..its a great technique to massage opinion. The evidence is overwhelming and everywhere....thoroughly researched, documented and reported from all over the the world. We just dont get to see it here on the news... ever.I have not been brainwashed by an internet site.I dont agree with what Islam teaches either.I am a Christian. To insinuate I am not aware of the horrors in the history of all positions is insulting.I have seen way to much evidence of the deceptions to ever go back to being easily lied to.The credibility of anyone or anything will have to be proven to me from now on.I call them as I see them. The REAL history of Israels beginning and the middle east since is a real eye opener to what is happening today.Remember....those who win the wars write the history books.

Valkyrie,

You sound mighty angry.  I don't know about you but when I find something that makes me as incensed as you are I sometimes find myself looking at the forest but not seeing the trees.  Anger like that can consume you and can also cause one to make bad decisions.  I hope that doesn't happen to you.  There generally are two sides to every coin and I am certain that this country (America) has done things that are morally wrong.  They also do a lot of good.  Is it possible that your intense anger is preventing you from seeing some of the good this country does or do you really believe we are just rotten to the core?

I believe with all my heart that the American people are good and great people.I also know we have been lied to and terrible things have been done in our name. The proof is everywhere one cares to look if you try to see all sides. Our constitution has been shredded in the name of fighting terrorism.Yes,injustice and evil make me very angry. And I pray every day to my maker to lead me to the truth and for the courage to stand up for it.When I am proven wrong by facts I admit it...the truth shall set you free.

I'm neutral on this issue, consider me "Switzerland".
I built three houses for Palestinians in the mid 80's.  They had come over from Libya after Tripoli had been bombed.  They paid for everything in cash, they didn't trust banks, banks are run by Jews.  If you meet Palestinians in a regular setting, they're just like anybody else.  The Media are operated by their sworn enemies, what do you expect to see in the News?  Do some homework, people, Israel didn't even exist prior to 1948.  I remember being a little boy looking at the Atlas in my Grandparent's Library.  There it was, clear as day, the nation of "Palestine" on the  eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea.  How would you react if  a large  wealthy  fanatical group swindled you out of YOUR home?

other arabs rightly think of them as scum.

From what I've been told it is the KUWAITI's who are considered as scum by the rest of the Arab World.  That's why they didn't rush to their rescue in 1991.
