Looks like we might have lower prices for awhile!

I know my state, OK, is feeling the repercussions from the lower gas prices in a lot of job loss for oil field workers, state budget cuts to schools, etc. For everyday people like myself, it allows me to travel more, eat out more, go to the movies, purchase more items that I would normally not be purchasing because I have a lot more money in my pocket to spend. When I was paying close to $4 a gallon of gas, I was doing nothing and spending nothing, just going to work.

OKC is usually cheaper than where I live by about .10 a gallon just because there is more competition. Gas is dropping so fast it's unreal. I paid $1.38 a gallon in OKC on Sunday, it was $1.48 here where I live which is 60 miles south of OKC. Yesterday I paid $1.38 where I live. Today a friend of mine paid $1.32 a gallon here where we live. This is getting crazy.

Be careful what you wish for cheap oil is going to cost many jobs and businesses going out of business. There is already a loss of 100,000 jobs with more to come.

What makes me mad is OPEC is doing this to put our oil companies out of business because OPEC is greedy and want to make sure we do not become oil independent.

This headline says it all: Defiant Saudi Arabia says it can handle low oil prices 'for a long, long time'

Always Be Prepared

Yes, it has already cost a lot of people jobs here in Oklahoma, we have a huge oil and gas industry. It is also starting to affect the State government in the way of a shortfall of taxes, which is having a trickle down effect, less money to schools, prisons, ect. budget cuts all around. So the cheap gas is not a good thing for our State economy.

Crazy weather down here too, Hachi. Flooding, trees down and a lot of people without power. Not us fortunately - although we'd be okay Thumbs Up

We had a lot of wind here with random downpours and some local flooding. My power was off for almost six hours, and was supposed to be on at 4. Two of my neighbors that have garage apartments were using generators until the power came on. I wonder if I could have a small one on my balcony.Lamp

You guys keep that weather there, lol. I have been watching a friend on Facebook in Colorado, they have a 3 day snow storm where they are. It's been in the 60's and 70's for the past 10 days here, but it's supposed to get cold tomorrow.
