Hi all, been off the radar for a while....

Anyone know if this recent rash of cases in central Florida is h5n1, or the newer one, i just scanned down the posts and haven't seen anything on it.
Is anyone tracking the cases?

We have 4 cases, with 3 in ICU, or on ventilators and one dead. This took me by surprise, there was nothing on the news then all this happen this past week.
WFTV local news has it.

Hi Pheasant, it is the H1N1, swine flu here in Florida. We are in SW Florida. We heard about the article that came out of Orlando talking about the swine flu. I'm sure it is everywhere now.
 
There is only the 1 H5N1, bird flu, in Canada as far as we know as of today....woman I believe in her 40's died. Another article said they didn't know what gender or age. She came back from China I believe. She was on a plane so that worries me.
I wonder if she was a business woman or visiting family who had sick chickens?
They said it was not human to human. How can they say that if they don't know how she got it....or maybe they just aren't giving us all the details.

She was a Canadian citizen of Chinese origin visiting family in Beijing. travelling with 2 family members also Canadian citizens. She was in her mid 40's living in a smaller city between Calgary and Edmonton. Rumour has it that she was a HCW in the hospital there.
