Tens of thousands of immigrants who illegally crossed the Mexico border into Texas are in the process of being released into communities throughout the nation rather than being indefinitely detained or immediately deported, a congressman told Watchdog.org.

Nothing in the posted article that suggests "Many are sick". Thread title is deceiving; perhaps 'deliberately' deceiving..
How is that ok? Can members explain how this kind of deliberate deception is allowed?t

Have you not read the growing mound of articles whos basis is that many (however many that may be) of the enemy infiltrators are in fact sick with a garden variety of pretty much everything contagious and non? I've been reading one after another after another. And yes they are enemy infiltrators intent on stealing this country by sheer numbers or else they'd of gotten in a long line just like everyone else, sick or not. My explanation to your question is there is nothing deceptive in Meds thread heading.

Hi guest

I think it's fairly common knowledge that many of these illegals have health issues..... Here's a few links to bring you up to speed.

CDC CONFIRMS ACTIVATION OF “EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER” IN RESPONSE TO IMMIGRANT INFLUX
After months, federal health agency responsible for “disease control and prevention” breaks silence.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is responding to the public health crisis spurred by the recent surge of illegal immigrants by activating an emergency facility designed to monitor and coordinate “emergency response activities to public health threats,” the agency admitted to Infowars Tuesday.

In a taped phone call, a CDC information hotline representative confirmed that, unbeknownst to the American public, the agency has activated their intelligence arm, the Emergency Operation Center, to deal with various diseases accompanying the surge of illegal aliens currently staging a virtually uncontested U.S. invasion.

“In response to this influx of unaccompanied alien children, CDC’s Emergency Operation Center (EOC) has been activated,” the CDC rep stated, likely reading from a script. “Through this activation the EOC will work closely with the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. CDC staff will consult on health issues and the UAC’s countries of origin, consult on shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene and provide staff for public health support.”

“The CDC Emergency Operations Center is activated during events such as hurricanes or disease outbreaks,” a 2009 CDC video about the EOC states. “When activated, CDC staff work with contacts at the state, local, and international levels 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”

The EOC has responded to dozens of emergencies since 2001, from Hurricane Katrina to H1N1 flu outbreaks to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the World Trade Center attacks.

Until now, the federal government has remained largely silent on increased public health concerns linked to the immigrant influx. As we reported Saturday, the CDC ignored border agents’ pleas for help containing the spread of disease.

Numerous border agents have contracted disease from exposure to afflicted minors, and reports suggest the influx, now hailing from several parts of the world (not just Central America), may potentially bring with it deadly diseases such as dengue and the incurable ebola virus. There are also increased worries immigrants hailing from Honduras could be infected with HIV, the AIDS-causing virus.

Writing for WND.com, Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet questions the government’s shroud of silence in the face of an emerging public health crisis. Labeling the porous southern border “a gateway for disease entry,” Vliet has compiled a running list of questions regarding the CDC’s secrecy:

Why is the CDC, the U.S. agency responsible for identification, tracking and overseeing issues around infectious disease outbreaks, so strangely silent?

Why are there reports of a temporary decontamination center set up in El Paso, Texas, similar to those in use in West Africa? What is it for? What diseases have been found that would require such a facility?

Why is the CDC not on top of – and warning – the public of these increasingly serious situations?

Why are more doctors in the southern border states not already on alert to handle sudden increase in TB, adult chicken pox, measles, H1N1 influenza, dengue, Ebola, plus other unknown but lethal diseases?

As Dr. Vliet highlights, the lack of answers to these questions should concern otherwise healthy Americans. “These diseases are highly contagious, especially in crowded and poor sanitary conditions in the detention and processing centers where thousands of illegals are housed until sent to other areas of America, without full screening for such diseases,” says Vliet.

“Many of the diseases of concern, such as Ebola hemorrhagic fever, have NO effective treatments,” adds Dr. Vliet, noting infectious disease is the leading cause of death worldwide.

The government agency’s superficial response to our inquiry, and their practice of keeping things hidden from the public unfortunately do little to quell anxieties over increased health concerns.

Note from Onefluover: And that is without mention that 80 years ago Hepatitis did not exist in the United States and that ALL hepatitises originated from south of "The Border".

If I had a health-issue and lived in a country with very limited healthcare I would try to get to a place were healthcare is better organized (for me or a relative). The increase in numbers of refugees has to do with inequality in the world. The US, Europe and Australia face the same kind of problems. Refugees ending up in shelters can be monitored, but those ending up in the streets usualy are not monitored. This is not new but the problems are (sharply) increasing. The number of refugees worldwide now is over 50 million and likely to further increase, this is a sad new record absolute number. After World War 2 that absolute number was lower. (In percentage that is different).

Of course refugees have health-issues. After the Haïti-earthquake cholera spread to the U.S. incendently. On the other hand also tourists can bring illnesses from their trips. A third factor is climate-change; malaria is moving north.

In my opinion war and poverty are (organized) crimes. Healthcare (and education, housing etc.) is a human right. Stopping refugees going to rich countries can be done by providing better healthcare(access) in poor countries. But that should have been done a long time ago !

When only 10% of the money spent in wars would be spent constructive the world would not be in this situation.

Look we can't save the world but we can save babies in OUR country from being killed by their mothers. The USA can't take care of these illegals. If they want to come here come legally apply and wait in line.   Let THEIR countries preserve these kids lives we give them enough money to do that already!   Obama and the Dems have made this problem because if they can break this country they can take over our government to make us totally socialist.   They are doing a great job and Hillary will finish the USA off when she is elected.

Yes exactly. It's what I just said about winners and losers. Welcome to the real world. It's like a big football -or, OK, soccer- game. For someone to win, someone HAS to loose. It doesn't mean we hate you for not being us. But we're not going to hate ourselves just to hand it all over to you. The strong take away from the weak, -but the smart take away from the strong. It's human nature. We simply, as a country, outsmarted everyone else. That doesn't make us bad or evil or even maybe right but it is what it is... What's yours?

Then don't spout your moralistic garbage about abortion and saving innocent lives.

The US is in a serious decline and has been for years. Classic rise and fall, rotting from within, crappy education, zero healthcare, etc.

Haven't been the strongest for awhile.... And haven't been the smartest for a long, long while....

God does command us to stand up for Life, the widow & the orphan... but He also commands us to follow the law.  Rewarding others for breaking the law in my own opinion is not right:

Romans 13 1-7

http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/passage.aspx?q=romans+13:1-7 - Submission to the Authorities

1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-1 - for there is no authority except that which God has established. http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-2 - The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-3 - and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-4 - 4 For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-5 - 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-6 - 6 This is also why you pay taxes, http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-7 - for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/13.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-8 - if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Question: "How should a Christian respond to illegal aliens/illegal immigrants?"

Answer:
Illegal immigration has become a volatile issue, especially in the U.S. Many have raised their voices passionately in their condemnation of illegal immigration while others defend it just as fervently. The subject of illegal immigration has not only generated heated debate, but has caused intense division and strife among politicians, educators, co-workers, families, and friends. Sadly enough, its contentiousness has infused itself into the church with Christians drawn into the turbulent fray with supporters on both sides seeking to justify their positions based on their own personal beliefs.

So, what does the Bible say about illegal immigration? What should be the Christian response to those who enter our country illegally as well as to those who condone and support such activity? The first consideration is that those who enter any country illegally violate that nation’s laws as well as the laws of God. Believers are torn between showing compassion and mercy to those who seek help and not wanting to violate God’s will.

Sadly, we have brothers and sisters in Christ fighting over the issue of illegal immigration where the Bible is quite clear on what our Christian response should be: “The LORD detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness” ( http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Proverbs%2015.9 - Proverbs 15:9 ; see also 28:5; http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Psalm%205.4%E2%80%935 - Psalm 5:4–5 ). When we condone criminal activity where people blatantly and habitually violate the laws of our government, we no longer “shine like stars in the universe” ( http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Philippians%202.15 - Philippians 2:15 ). The Bible makes it clear that those who violate the laws of government are in sin, as are those who support or assist them in breaking the laws ( http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Romans%2013.1%E2%80%937 - Romans 13:1–7 ; http://biblia.com/bible/esv/1%20Peter%202.13%E2%80%9314 - 1 Peter 2:13–14 ; http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Titus%203.1%E2%80%932 - Titus 3:1–2 ).

Peter’s reference to “those who do wrong” in http://biblia.com/bible/esv/1%20Peter%202.14 - 1 Peter 2:14 clearly means those who break the laws and who, by doing so, are also guilty of doing wrong to others. These are to be punished by the governing authorities. Paul has made it abundantly clear that the government is in the best position to judge the course of action that should be taken to find solutions to this problem. Our government has the divine authority to do so. Whether or not the government authorities exercise their legal and divine right to enforce the laws doesn’t change the fact that the church cannot knowingly support illegal activity and be in the will of God. To condone or aid and abet people who cross borders illegally is sin, just as the initial act of coming into the country illegally is sin.

At the same time, as Christians, we have to separate our attitude toward the act of entering the country illegally from our attitude toward the illegals themselves. The first obligation of a Christian is to express Christlikeness in all our thoughts and deeds ( http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Romans%208.29 - Romans 8:29 ). There is no room for hatred toward those who come into the country, albeit illegally, desperately seeking work, refuge from danger and persecution, or a better life for themselves and their families. Christian compassion must be shown toward those who would risk their lives in a dangerous, and often fatal, attempt to cross a border. Acts of hatred or violence toward illegal aliens is never to be considered or tolerated by those who name the name of Christ.

You can live by any beliefs you want... I was simply showing you how those who follow the bible explain their stance on illegal immigration, which is what I thought you wanted an explanation on.  Sorry, Rickster58, you are right.. this has gotten a bit OT.

The dangers of illegal aliens bringing in disease & viruses is a real threat to our country.  If an anchor on CNN that I heard with my own ears will use the phrase "... and many are sick & in need of medical treatment..." then you know it's a big enough problem to report here.  end point.

When a discussion is to have some use people have to respect one another. in my opinion no human is 'illegal', when a law declares a person 'illegal' the law-makers has forgotten why laws are made.

The increase in refugees is related with te increase of conflicts. When conflicts were only fought by words there would not be war. On the one hand countries export weapons but when the result of the wars is refugees knocks on the door they get angry.

We all live on one planet, the 'third world' sometimes is only a stretch of water away. Diseases do not respect bordercontrol. That one day the influx of people with healthcare issues would get out of control should not come as a surprise !

Treat others the way you want to be treated yourself should be the rule for nations eventhough it is a big job. In 1914 the Netherlands had 5 milion inhabitants. When the Germans attacked Belgium in World War 1 we had to deal with 1 milion Belgian refugees. (Holland was lucky to stay out of that war, the Germans attacked Belgium wich pulled the UK in the conflict.)

Only a small number of the over 50 milion refugees worldwide make it to the "developed world" most refugees live in other parts from their own country.

If our government didn't give illegals SSI, supplemental security income, food stamps, and free hospitalization after the illegals arrive, then I wouldn't have as much problem with it. However, our country simply cannot afford to give handouts to everyone who walks across the border expecting handouts. To give amnesty once just opened the floodgates in the hopes that amnesty would be given a 2nd time. If we give amnesty a 2nd time, then expect the flood gates to open as if rats were climbing out of the sewers. We simply cannot afford it any longer.

A country without borders isn't a country at all. It's a free for all!

If we don't send these kids back to their home countries, then we send a signal that it is OK to send more!

For healthcare issues I only can stress that we all live on the same small planet. Migration is a part of human history (that also brought Europeans to the America's). What starts as a small healthcare problem in what some people want to call a "third world country" is a healthcare problem just a flight away from (y)our doorstep.

"Am I my brother's keeper" is an acient question and as long as on the long term I share the same interests as my "brother" the answer has to be "yes". We can not longer afford to look the other way and claim that a problem in Port-au-Prince, Kinshassa or South Sudan is not "our" problem. We have been doing that for much to long and one day we will pay the price for our ignorance !

At this moment four million people in South Sudan are close to starvation, wars in East Congo have killed 5.4 million people ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Congo_War - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Congo_War ) and the only reaction is to send weapons ? I think it is time to put health worldwide on top of the agenda before the problems get to big to deal with !

Anyone reading this thread should know that the rest of the world does not distinguish between the American Federal Government and the American people. When they talk about 'America' they are usually referring to the Federal Government and its not fair to include the people in that category.

When America (government and people) was a free collective of states, they invented a capitalist system that led the world in wealth generation. Since America (government) has been socialised, its experienced all the problems socialisation brings.

When a system operates at the lowest common denominator everyone suffers except those at the top. What most people don't get with what has happened in the United States, is its not a capitalist society anymore. Since the market protections imposed by big business, and political entities, the system they have is called Oligarchy where an illusion of choice is offered, but its all comes from the same companies or groups of companies with political connections and protection.

After Obamacare, I think a lot of the American people are beginning to understand they have been sold a pup, a lemon. The sad thing is, once you let socialism in, its takes a good 2 generations to get it out again and the amount of damage it does in that time will probably reduce the once great US into something similar to what Russia became at the end of the cold war. What is really terrible is they will have to fight to get it back, one characteristic of socialists is they will never, NEVER let go.

Personally, I hope the US people can reclaim their country and institutions, I really do. I'm just not expecting it to happen in what remains of my lifetime.

Until that happens, I believe the UK should revaluate its relationship with the US especially in military matters and alliances as the country we made those agreements with doesn't seem to exist anymore and has been replaced with one that has a government with a very strong 'show em who's boss' attitude that's causing conflicts worldwide.

Immigration crisis: Tuberculosis spreading at camps

By Todd Starnes Published July 07, 2014 FoxNews.com 0 0

Are the thousands of illegal immigrant kids housed in detention facilities happy and well fed -- or are they living in disease-infested compounds shrouded in secrecy?

Well, it depends on who you ask.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) seems to think the children coming across the southern border are remarkably healthy. It's a sentiment shared by BCFS -- the Texas-based agency formerly known as Baptist Child & Family Services contracted to run camps at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and Fort Sill in Oklahoma.

My source said there are children showing classic tuberculosis symptoms -- spitting up blood, a constant cough and chest pain.

More than 7,000 children have been processed through the two camps, according to a BCFS official. They allege that only 119 children have been treated for lice, 22 for scabies, and one for the H1N1 Flu. BCFS says the most common illnesses seen at Lackland are fever, headache, upper respiratory cold and ingrown toenails.

However, at least a half dozen anonymous sources, including nurses and health care providers who worked at Lackland, allege that the government is covering up what they believe to be a very serious health threat.

Several of my sources tell me that tuberculosis has become a dangerous issue at both the border and the camps.

"The amount of tuberculosis is astonishing," one health care provider told me. "The nurses are telling us the kids are really sick. The tuberculosis is definitely there."

Texas Department of State Health Services Commissioner David Lakey, M.D. says state health officials have seen only three cases of tuberculosis, the Associated Press

reports. One of my sources with close ties to the Texas HHS tells me all three cases were reported in Austin.

However, nurses at Lackland in San Antonio, said they know of at least four teenagers in their camp who have tuberculosis.

"The nurses are telling us the kids are really sick," the source told me. "The tuberculosis is definitely there."

My source said there are children showing classic tuberculosis symptoms -- spitting up blood, a constant cough and chest pain.

BCFS officials deny that any child at Lackland has been diagnosed with TB and the state health commissoner downplayed the health threat. While confirming their had been three cases of TB, Lakey said it was not unusual, the

Associated Press reported.

Dr. Marc Siegel, a professor of medicine at New York University's Langone Medical Center and a Fox News A Team medical contributor, said tuberculosis appears to be spreading through several counties in southern Texas. He told me that some counties are reporting twice the usual average number of cases.

"Some of the tuberculosis that comes from Central America is drug resistant," he told me. "It's not easier to spread but it is harder to treat. I'm concerned about that."

And while, TB is not that easy to spread, he warned that all those children living in close quarters could be a ticking time bomb.

"It is a disease that needs to be carefully monitored and screened for -- something that is not possible under the current circumstances," Siegel said.

HHS released a statement neither confirming nor denying what the nurses are telling me: "When unaccompanied children come into the Department of Health and Human Services program, they are given a well-child exam and given all needed childhood vaccinations to protect against communicable diseases,” the statement read. “They are also screened for tuberculosis, and receive a mental health exam. If children are determined to have any communicable disease or have been exposed to a communicable disease, they are placed in a program or facility that has the capacity to quarantine."

This is the same HHS that previously denied there were any cases of scabies. They make it sound as if there are very few health problems among the illegals. They even downplay the lice epidemic -- just 119 “officially confirmed” cases.

“They are lying,” one nurse told me. “We treated that many kids with lice on a given day. We would put 20 kids in front of us – 10 in each row. You could see the bugs crawling through their hair.”

Another former staff member told me it was like working in a giant emergency room.

“They had children in the infirmary that had been there several days,” the former staffer told me. “You were on your feet nonstop. They had chicken pox, measles, and there was a concern strep was spreading.”

BCFS denied any of the children had the measles. They said public health authorities “have inspected our facility and had access to freely converse with our medical staff and children.”

Health care providers tell me the Lackland facility is like a giant orphanage. And while lice and scabies abound -- they warn that the bigger problem lurking is tuberculosis.

"Lice and scabies are fixable," a nurse said. "TB is the real problem here."

It's impossible to know the full extent of the communicable diseases that have come and are coming across the border. Nurses and other care givers tell me they've been told to keep their mouths shut. Those caught divulging information are subject to immediate dismissal -- and all my sources said they were told they could also be arrested.

BCFS won't even allow random inspections of their facilities by the media or members of Congress.

Oklahoma Rep. Jim Bridenstein was denied access last week to the HHS facility at Fort Sill – another facility run by BCFS.

“There is no excuse for denying a federal representative from Oklahoma access to a federal facility in Oklahoma where unaccompanied children are being held,” the congressman said in a statement.

Bridenstein said he was told that unannounced visitors are not allowed – even if they are elected officials – and that he would have to make an appointment to visit the facility.

“What are they trying to hide?” he asked. “Do they not want the children to speak with members of Congress?”

He was told to come back for a pre-arranged and heavily scripted dog-and-pony-show tours -- but those events were fact-free fact-finding missions. I’d say the congressman has a better chance of getting into GITMO.

BCFS blames HHS for the shroud of secrecy. Sources within the organization tell me they’ve been ordered not to talk to the media and not to let anyone inside the camps.

In spite of everything my sources are telling, a BCFS representative describes the facility at Lackland as a place where children are happy, well-fed and engaged in daily activities.

Meanwhile, several San Antonio pastors who dropped by unannounced at the Lackland camp, have shared with me a rather unsettling discovery. The ministers told me the facility was under heavy guard from security personnel.

To be honest, we have no idea what's going on at that fenced facility but I have a feeling it's not good.

Wait until these kids with TB show up in you child's or grand child's school and your family member shows up with TB.

Try and live in other countries illegally...you would be shot. NO not in the USA we give them money and places to stay! But let's be sure to kill babies in the womb they are not wanted. Go figure...time to get rid of this Democrat administration!

Sorry but I'm a bit sciolistic. Your comment escapes me. A bit of history about Canada for whatever it may mean. In 1980 when I was 15 I hitch-hiked there from L.A. Like the Mexicans braving the hot dry desert, I braved the coldest night in Seatle history, -50 below zero f. I slept that night in a field-abandoned VW with no windows or even apolstery. Well...I just shook all night and it took 25 years for the numbness to leave my big toes. Anyway, I tried to enter Canada in Blain but was refused entry. So like our southern neighbors I just snuck in. Up in Vancouver I met a beautiful teenage girl named "Starr". She was Michael J Foxes girlfriend and became mine. Christmas Day, 1980 I was arrested for being in the country illegally. Three hours later they drove me to the freeway, gave me my pocket knife back (illegal to have there) and told me to hitch-hike my dumb ass back out of their country and that I should sneak back out as Washington State Troopers would be waiting for me. As soon as he left I hiked north back to Vancouver in search of Starr, found her and we then met and stayed with a Bo Strange Mortil who later fled to Costa Rica over an artificial heart scandal. Bo later drove Starr and I over the border where she and I hitch-hiked south and in southern Oregon she was kidnapped from me by some real adult freeway bums and I never heard from her again. Anyways, the gist of the story is, what is right about what Canada is doing?

Jen147. Couldn't resist...

Question: "How should a Christian respond to illegal aliens/illegal immigrants?"

Answer: As the bible says...  Turn them into slaves!

From Leviticus 25 International Version

I am the Lord your God.

18 “‘Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws, and you will live safely in the land. 19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety........"further on"

44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life.

It is so written. (-As is the story of Ham.)

I suppose it's a good thing the Canadians weren't subscribing to THAT part of the Bible in 1980...

Good for me, anyways.

My interpretation of Leviticus 25 is simply: obey the laws of the land or your butt is going to jail for a long time.

In Mexico they are more literal in that your families can live in the jail with you.

Prison is a form of slavery. When Leviticus was written, prison punishment probably meant to be sold off to a farmer as a prisoner/slave. Private prisons for profit today probably pay the state to receive their prisoner/slaves.

The point is, I agree with Cobbers comment (though it may not be Cobbers personal view), that if they enter illegally then imprison them in work camps AND THEN kick them out. And not a nice bus ride -or PLANE trip back into the interior of Mexico. Bring them to the border and then at gun-point make them walk back home.

It's time to more merciless about this.

Quest and all. About you comment of our good neighbor to the North.I thought that for many years also, but the facts are that most Canadians hate us.Especially in Quebec,it is actually dangerous to be there if you are not French. They burned one of my pickup trucks while we were in a restaurant.-----I have fished and hunted in Canada for years. I never broke a law of any kind and I have no criminal record in this country.------A few years ago,I think it was 2004,I decided to take a few weeks off and go to Canada and probably buy a camp on a lake in Ontario some place. I had been looking at them for a long time on the Internet. I had already transferred a large sum of money to a Canada bank so that I could deal with the real estate people in the same money.(They always know what the exchange rate is and I never do). I liked Canada so much that I considered it a second home.I packed all of my fishing and camping gear and headed north with just my dog.I had a passport and my dogs health records. I was going to fish in Ontario and Manitoba and likely buy a camp some where in between.---- By government agreements at that time,Americans can spend 6 months in Canada with out a passport or Visa and the Canadians could do the same in this country. The Canadians worry about getting some one in their country that can not support them selves and they end up on the Canadian socialist welfare system that they would have to suppot you. I had money in a Canada Bank,I had a larger Certified check with me from my bank to prove I could support myself.------When I crossed into Canada and told them what I wanted  to do and I also showed proof that I could finanicially take care of myself. The customs lady that I was directed to,looked  my pass port over very carefully several times and she made three trips through the back door ,to the offices in the back. She finally came back and told me that she was not going to allow me into Canada,I was totally shocked, I asked why, and she said you are leaving now and I am sending two armed guards with you to make sure that you do. I looked behind me and here come two armed men with level four body armor on. Their guns were .308 cal and they had 20 round magazines and they were loaded. I was really shocked. The customs lady looked at me and told me that they were tired of Americans coming to Canada and running all over the place. I say why,Canadians fill up southern US in the winter time,I thought it was mutal agreement. She said well you are leaving and you are leaving now. I looked  both of the armed guards in the eye and did not see some one who wanted to shoot me, they really looked ashamed.-----But they escorted me to my truck with their guns in my back and when I got in my truck, they said one of us will be on each side of your truck and you drive real slow and we will walk beside you until we reach the US line. I did that, but I was really pissed.I had been in Canada dozens of times. I asked a US Customs official on the US line why this had just happened to me. He just looked north ans said,"I do not know, but we have been seeing more and more of this."There was like a little lawn beside his station and it had a sign that said"keep off the grass" but the US customs agent told me to pull my truck over to the fence around that grass and get my dog out and me and my dog take a rest in the grass and he said go ahead and feed and water your dog and stay on the grass as long as you want.------ I have not tried to go back to Canada since then and my attitude toward the Canadians now is **** the Canadians.I had my truck bed packed with large plastic bags and no one on either side even looked in the bags or my truck. There could have been anything in those bags, but they knew that they was just camping gear,  warm closes and fishing tackle. I still do not know why this happened. Johnray1            P.S. This incident made me really suspicious of if the Canadians are our friends or not, I think not.

No, I think that people want to know exactly where your level of weapons grade stupid comes from.

It gives people perspective of where you're coming from.

Now, you have the singular audacity to say:
Quote The US is in a serious decline and has been for years. Classic rise and fall, rotting from within, crappy education, zero healthcare, etc.

So the United States is in decline. On this point, you'll have no argument from me. We have saddled ourselves with arguably the most corrupt, cowardly, inept, brain dead, foolish, and outright untruthful president in our history because he is a great orator. The laws and issues he has even touched have either outright backfired or been a stunning disaster. Literally, the man is an absolute catastrophe by any and every metric. The man truly believes he is a king and can unilaterally create and change law.

But then you go on to point out that we are rotting from within with our substandard education and zero healthcare.

On the first point, you're absolutely correct. The public school system in this country has been cooped by abject socialists if not outright communists, where there can be no losers, no hurt feelings, and everyone gets a trophy. The schools in underclass areas are as great a failure as 0bama himself, and here is where your weapons grade stupid gets kicked into twelfth gear: you want to push several million more kids who have no idea how to speak English, and are functionally illiterate, they are special needs for all intents and purposes into an already overwhelmed disaster of a system. How much time are teachers going to have for my obviously gifted child when the lion's share of their time is spent trying to overcome a language barrier, in addition to trying to just overcome the sheer number of more special needs kids?

On the second point, our leadership passed comprehensive healthcare a couple years ago, and passed a system which has no choice but fail, but it is healthcare! The system we had prior wasn't perfect, and this was made worse because of government intervention preventing competition. What's particularly cute about this is that you are obviously from a country with an economy substantially smaller than the U.S. and no illegal immigration problem. If you did have an immigration problem, and I threw several tens of millions of non taxpaying, uneducated, leeches of the system into your country, your government and economy would collapse within a matter of weeks.

So go ahead and let us know where you're from so we can laugh at you.

ROFL!

Try to illegally live in Canada. They find out you're illegal and they'll arrest your ass and plant you right across the line in America.

Mexico will arrest you and put you in JAIL for being there illegally! Then deport you right across the border.

Weapons grade stupid.

They are. Many are hard workers and no less decent than anyone else, especially my own self. And their food and cooking is just about my favorite. Their deserts kind of suck. -Just my opinion. But the same things can be said about any people from any country. Most people who immigrated here over the last 200 years or so came through Ellis Island and such. The ones who predate that were our Founding Fathers. Bring us your huddled masses...through Ellis Island. That goes back to a time we needed people here to form this country. It's not that we don't like Mexicans/South Americans, its that the flood of undocumenteds is massive and continuous and disregards the rules set up by our countries originators. By the time I was 24 I spent half my life in a cage for breaking the rules of our founders. (Protecting the honor of two little girls. My sister and my girlfriend.) I am direct descendant of Kilpatrick (as per my Family Tree DNA profile), who wrote the Scottish Constitution from which all constitutions derive from-including ours. I also descend from another Kilpatrick, who was a rare witness to the signing of our Declaration of Independence. Both my mother and fathers lines were here before we were a country and had their hands in our formation. Any Mexican/South American who enters properly is no less an American than myself. And I wish them well. But if this border madness isn't put under control soon, I will call on the suspension of one clause of our constitution, the arrest of Obama and a Declaration of War against Mexico.

Johnray1,

I'd say it is time to go fishing in Alaska instead.

I always thought the Canadians liked us. American's don't seem to have a problem with Canadians, so this is baffling to me.

The feelings of insecurity and inferiority make people dislike other people. Perhaps Canadians feel inferior in some way although they shouldn't. I've read that Canadian's are always comparing their country to ours so that might be the root of the problem.

I believe, though, that some people are simply born snobs.

Elver, I never had any trouble in Canadian either until the time that I wrote about above. The people in Quebec did burn one of my trucks and the local police would not investigate,so I just never did go back to Quebec Provence. This was during one of the  times that the people in Quebec were wanting to succeed from the rest of Canada and the English speaking people told me that was the problem.-----As far as me being snobbish,I was never snobbish because I considered the Canadians the same as us,as equals,I do not any more. Many of the people in Quebec were very snobbish and the further you got away from the major cities, the worse it got. ------I really thought that the Quebec people did NOT speak English,so it made communication very difficult. Then out "Outfitter" walked in one day when were trying to talk to his family. He had 12 son's. He got real mad real quick. He started screaming at his sons and that got their attention. The Outfitter told us that all of his sons spoke and understood English and they were just being smart**** in what they were doing. He told us that almost everyone in Quebec spoke and understood English because it had been taught in the school system for years. ------Even English speaking Canadians had to switch to their maps and names to French, when they were working in Quebec, because the French speaking Quebeckers would not do business with them if they did not.---- He also told us that all 12 of his son's a and the vast majority of the younger Quebec people were ready and wanted to go to war with the English speaking Canadians to get totally independent of the rest of Canadians. I guess that the rest of Canadian wanted to be sure that they were independent of the US. That is O.K. But we should remove all of the factories and take all of the jobs out of Canada that we provide them. They could not even exist as a country, if it was not for the US. Johnray1

Elver,I forgot something. When I would be fishing or hunting in English speaking Canada, there were many people who wanted to succeed from Canada and become part of the US. They did not like their socialist system that was developing and they said that their taxes would be much less if they became Americans. I heard this in many places and from many people,so the Canadian government probably got afraid of this kind of thinking and started ordering their officials to be rude and not helpful with Americans. I have heard no talk like this for years.Johnray1

Guest, how do you see BS in John Rays account? He's one of the very few to list his real name. How much room is there in our accounts for BS? Other than to post as "Guest"? "No way I can prove this 'is not' true, but your account sounds like BS frankly," is grammatically incorrect but doesn't constitute BS to me on your part.

And he didn't say "all Canadians". He said "many".

I lived there a short time in 1980 and I concure with John.

My girlfriend and I met Bo Strange Mortil in Vancouver in 1980. We were both runaways (15). He took us into his posh bayside home for a month before sneaking us over the US border. But before doing so, one thing he told me was he travels infrequently to the US for....medical treatment. Granted, this was a long time ago, 34 years.

An excerpt from a story in today's Vancouver Sun by David Baines, relentless Bodog nemesis.

http://www.canada.com/vancouversun/news/bu...23-aee43f602699

"Right from the beginning, there were signs that this company was going to become a tarbaby for shareholders. One sign was the board, which initially consisted of:

Bo Strange Mortil and Peter Bell, previously involved in two other bio-medical busts, Bicer Medical Systems (artificial heart valves) and Bioject Medical Systems (needleless syringes).

Larry Reaugh, a Vancouver mining promoter who a year earlier had been convicted of illegal insider trading and fined $1,000 in connection with his main VSE endeavour, Rea Gold Corp.

Arthur Dalfen of Bermuda, who helped notorious stock fraudster Irving Kott run First Commerce Securities, an Amsterdam boiler-room operation that was shut down by Dutch authorities in 1986".
---------------------------------------------------------------

Very unusual name, Bo! And in a strange twist, he has earlier ties to BoDog's own Calvin Ayre. And , lo and behold, Bo lives in Costa Rica. Strange! Bo Strange Mortil. What a name.

Saskabush,I do not remember saying that I knew any Cosmetologists or Criminologists. But as far as me knowing the people that I do and that being very strange to you because I live in West Virgina, there is something that you need to know. Once any one learns to read and gets old enough to travel. You can read books from anywhere and you can also travel to any where to meet and talk to people. I do live in West Virginia now and I was born here, but I have lived in many states and taken training in many Ivory Tower hospitals. While I was in training, I made it a point to find out which hospitals were the best in different fields and that is where I would go for that part of my training. ------I was also a helicopter pilot in the US Army and I flew one tour of duty in Vietnam, I volunteered to go to Vietnam. That will probably make most Canadians hate me by itself, but I did a good job for my country.. But believe me or not, what I said is true. I would give you the Cardiologists names but I think that I would be out of line to do that.------ Now back to me being from West Virginia, one reason that I am glad that I am home is that I could quit wearing those damn shoes, they hurt my feet. My wife was also glad to get home and kick her shoes of to. I think that from your name that you use, that you are from an area that is very sparsely populated and I suspect that there are a lot people who live there who are not real smart, but that does not mean that you not real smart. I suspect that you very smart and you have probably had to leave the Provence that you live in to get higher education and probably at more than one place. What is the difference?-------- I do not think that I will ever need to know a Cosmetologist and if I ever need to know a Criminologist, I will find one that is tops in the field and I will learn from them. ----------- I always wanted to train in Forensic Pathology, but I just plane run out of time and I had to go to work to support my family. I wish you the very best and I would advise you to wear wool clothes in the winter time-----There is a saying in the far north country that"cotton kills" and this is true because cotton makes you sweat and then when you stop your activity, the sweat freezes and you die of hypothermia. And yes, believe it or not,I have spent time in the far north of this continent. Johnray1

Well, no... Not many leave here. We have one of the few university campuses on the face of the planet that encompass all of the health sciences - medical, pharmaceutical, dental and veterinarian.
We also are the home of the Canadian Light Beam Source (a synchrotron), one of only a handful worldwide.
Our unemployment rate is the lowest in Canada. Young families are flocking here from all over the world. We embrace and accepted the richness that different cultures and religions bring. It is sooo awesome!!!
My point is that people come here from all over the world to be educated.
I have personally travelled extensively, as have most of my friends and colleagues. Having said that, we are still, prairie folk and try to,live our lives helping out.
We are not a pacifist country, unlike the steryotype held my many Americans. We have always punched above our weight in world conflict. Google Vimy Ridge.
My father was a WW2 vet and I grew up in a neighbourhood devoted to veterans. The stories I could tell about sacrifice would break your heart. As a nation, during the Second World War, we had lost thousands of young men before your country even came to the plate.
Your comments and your grammar indicate to me that you are a poser.... No way you personally know Cardiologists and Climatologists ( the Criminologists and cosmetologist reference was a sarcastic reference!!).

Saskabush,I keep trying to get along with   and you keep calling me a liar. First,I do not know what a poser is? But I am for real and if you diagnosis my grammar as being bad,you are correct because I went to grade school and high school in WV. But every thing that I have said is true and if you insist on not believing me,that is your lose ,not mine.Plus, I have never seen or heard of any University complex That has the best and the top people in every field. It is not possible. I knew that the Cosmetologist and Criminologist names were used to try to trick me and prove to everyone that I did not know what either one was,but that did not work.-----Just like you say that you have traveled extensively but you are still just prairie folk, why can I not have travel extensively and still just be mountain folk, because that is what I am. I would ask that you quit being sarcastic to me. I do not like it and you should be a better person than that. One more thing, what is so unusual about knowing a few Cardiologist. I know several Cardiologist,Radiologist,Internist, Surgeons and any other medical specialty that you want to talk about. So what is so unusual about knowing some Cardiologist? the Climatologist came along with military training and the Air Force sent them in. But I would like to know what a poser is? Johnray1

BORDER CONTROL AGENT: DISEASES COMING IN WE HAVEN'T SEEN IN DECADES

Border-Control-Agent-A-Lot-Of-Our-Guys-Are-Coming-Down-With-Diseases

Breitbart Non-Syndicated

on BREITBART TV 14 Jul 2014, 8:14 AM PDT 817 POST A COMMENT
Monday on Fox News Channel's "America's Newsroom," the VP of the Border Patrol Union, Chris Cabrea told host Martha MacCallum "a lot of our guys" are coming down with diseases.
"Coming off the long journey they have been subjected to and then diseases some agents are contracting. We had one get bacterial pneumonia a couple days ago," Cabrea said. "A lot of our guys are coming down with scabies or lice."
Cabrea added: "The border patrol is trying to play catch up and we're having a lot of diseases coming in and some we haven't seen in decades and we are worried they'll spread throughout the United States especially if they are being released and have the disease."

I agree. There is not and should never be a fight between Canada and the US. We have reletively few differences. We have our own borders and not all issues have been rosey -but none of the border issues of our south. Mexican/South Americans in general do not like us, they are invading our country to first gouge us and then to take over control and then to self-destruct us. If they can destroy the US as we know it then they have won. It's the land they want. Or as they would put it, want back. -Not our system. And I am slightly sorry but they do carry a high per capita of disease. And they are an unjustly violent people. Look at Juarez Mexico for instance. Worlds highest murder rate. Right on our border. In 1980 LA had ~400 murders. NYC ~1000. Vancouver BC....5...! Canada is an admirable country. We would be wise to continue and strengthen our alliance in the face of this southern madness.

WND EXCLUSIVE
COULD EBOLA SNEAK ACROSS U.S. BORDER?
Africans passing through Mexico raise new flags in 'out of control' outbreak
Published: 1 day ago
DREW ZAHN

The Ebola virus presents a particularly nasty way to die.

"Early symptoms of the disease include … sudden fever, chills and muscle aches,” the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, explains. “Around the fifth day after onset of symptoms, a skin rash can occur. Nausea, vomiting, chest pain, a sore throat, abdominal pain and diarrhea may follow. Symptoms become increasingly severe and may include jaundice, severe weight loss, mental confusion, shock and multi-organ failure.”

There is no known cure or vaccine for the virus, and as many as 90 percent of those who contract the disease die from it.

But what are the odds of it infecting the U.S.? And could the porous southern border provide an avenue for Ebola to enter the country?

Though no case of the disease has ever been reported in the U.S., the World Health Organization admits the current outbreak in Western Africa – which has infected at least two Americans working in relief efforts there – is the worst on record. Doctors Without Borders warns the outbreak is “out of control.”

So far, the current outbreak has infected over 1,200 people and killed at least 672 in nearly a dozen countries in Western Africa, where fruit bats are thought to be the natural host of the virus, and the disease spreads through close contact with the infected or their bodily fluids.

But travel authorities and news outlets were alarmed over the weekend when a Liberian man infected with Ebola boarded a plane and brought the disease to Lagos, Nigeria, Africa’s largest city, with 21 million people.

The current outbreak, Reuters reports, is the first time that Ebola has appeared in heavily populated urban areas and international travel hubs.

So far, the CDC is dismissing worries of the disease reaching U.S. shores.

“There is no significant risk in the U.S.,” a CDC statement declared Monday. “While it is unlikely that the disease would spread if imported into the United States, the recent infections in U.S. healthcare workers working abroad highlight the need for vigilance. CDC is reminding U.S. healthcare workers of the importance of testing and isolating sick travelers returning from the affected areas.”

In fact, two U.S. health-care workers – Dr. Kent Brantly, a 32-year-old family practice physician working in Liberia with Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse and Nancy Writebol, a volunteer working out of the same facility with the relief organization SIM – have contracted the disease while working abroad.

What’s more alarming, however, are reports confirmed by the National Border Patrol Council, or NBPC, and United Nations that some of the detainees apprehended attempting to enter the U.S. illegally are from Africa – where the Ebola outbreak is thriving.

After a group of adult males from the three Asian nations was apprehended at the U.S. border over the weekend, Albert Spratte, a spokesman for Local 3307 of the NBPC, reiterated that the Rio Grande is being crossed by more than just Central Americans.

“This should be a reminder to the public that unaccompanied minors and family units are not the only ones crossing into the U.S. illegally,” Spratte told Breitbart News. “On the same day, I also witnessed 3-4 Chinese females at the processing station. The media are concentrating on the Central American families and minors, and they are not covering the fact that we are still getting people, often adult males, who are coming from other nations.”

In 2012, the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime released a report confirming, “Central Americans are not the only ones being smuggled through Mexico to the United States. Irregular migrants from the Horn of Africa (Eritrea, Somalia, and Ethiopia), as well as South Asia (Bangladesh, Nepal, India), China, and other African and Asian states are being smuggled through Central America.”

“Border Patrol agents in our sector have in the past apprehended aliens from Iraq, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Israel and from many other nations,” Spratte continued. “People think this is just about Mexico and Central America, but it isn’t. People from all over the world are trying to sneak into the United States.”

As WND has reported, several health experts are already sounding the alarm over a rash of diseases crossing America’s southern border with the recent flood of illegal immigrants.

Despite Department of Homeland Security assurances that it has “health controls in place to minimize any possible health risks,” including health screenings for detainees, U.S. Border Patrol sources reveal those screenings only come after processing, exposing the agents themselves to any diseases the detainees may be carrying.

Chris Cabrera, a spokesman for the National Border Patrol Council, for example, is concerned about the spread of scabies among both immigrants and those working with them.

“A lot of people [are] coming in with the disease,” Cabrera told a local TV station, “and it seems to be spreading, not just within the McAllen [Texas] station, but throughout the [Rio Grande] Valley and to some of our agents.”

A spokesperson for the CDC told WND the Center isn’t directly involved in patient care for the tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors crossing the border, but referred to WND to the Administration for Children and Families, or ACF, instead.

“If it is determined that children have certain communicable diseases or have been exposed to such communicable diseases, they are placed in a program or facility that has the capacity to quarantine,” ACF spokesman Kenneth Wolfe told WND. “Children with serious health conditions are treated at local hospitals. The cost of this care is fully paid by the federal government.”

“Recently, HHS took additional measures to ensure that children previously screened, vaccinated and medically cleared while in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody had not fallen ill while pending transport to Unaccompanied Alien Children program facilities,” he added. “CBP medical providers already check flight manifests against children who were identified as sick overnight; if there are any concerns, children destined for a DoD installation are pulled from the flight. Under the updated protocol, HHS staff also take the children’s temperatures shortly before flights. Any child with a fever and cough or sore throat is pulled from the flight, isolated from others and seen by a medical professional.”

CDC sources repeatedly insist the U.S. is in no significant danger of an Ebola outbreak.

Dr. Stephan Monroe, deputy director of CDC National Center for Emerging & Zoonotic Diseases, further told reporters Monday even if a case did show up in the U.S., he expects it would be contained by the basic practices of Western medicine.

“We’re confident the standard care of U.S. [hospitals] would prevent much of the transmission would a case show up here,” Monroe said.

Nonetheless, the CDC also maintains an “interim guidance” release on the disease for airlines, the Bureau of Customs and Border Patrol and the Transportation Security Administration, or TSA.

Among the guidelines are for airline personnel to keep people suspected of having the disease from “close contact” with other people.

“Examples of close contact include kissing or embracing, sharing eating or drinking utensils, close conversation (less than 3 feet), physical examination and any other direct physical contact between persons,” the guidelines clarify. “Close contact does not include activities such as walking by a person or briefly sitting across a room.”

The CDC also told reporters Monday that a Level 2 alert was being issued, recommending those traveling to Africa “avoid contact with blood and bodily fluids.”

Illegal immigrant kids exposed federal agents to lice, scabies, tuberculosis and chicken pox, report says

August 01, 2014

Unaccompanied illegal immigrant children with communicable diseases have given or exposed federal agents to lice, scabies, tuberculosis and chicken pox, according to a report issued Thursday by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General.

In two cases, the children of a border patrol agent got chicken pox contracted from their parents’ exposure to unaccompanied children with chicken pox, according to the report on conditions of detention centers and border facilities.

The report, the first in a series, is based on 87 unannounced visits to 63 detention centers being used to house unaccompanied alien children (UAC) in Texas, Arizona and California during July 1-16.

“Many UAC and family units require treatment for communicable diseases, including respiratory illnesses, tuberculosis, chicken pox, and scabies,” said the memorandum summarizing the report.

“UAC and family unit illnesses and unfamiliarity with bathroom facilities resulted in unsanitary conditions and exposure to human waste in some holding facilities.

“DHS employees reported exposure to communicable diseases and becoming sick on duty. For example, during a recent site visit to the Del Rio USBP Station and Del Rio Port of Entry, CBP personnel reported contracting scabies, lice, and chicken pox.

“Two CBP Officers reported that their children were diagnosed with chicken pox within days of the CBP Officers' contact with a UAC who had chicken pox. In addition, USBP personnel at the Clint Station and Santa Teresa Station reported that they were potentially exposed to tuberculosis.”

Sources previously told FoxNews.com of multiple instances in which Border Patrol agents were exposed to tuberculosis—and one instance in which an agent contracted a severe case of tuberculosis from illegal immigrants in his care.

Other sources told FoxNews.com that swine flu has been found at several detention centers in Texas.

According to the OIG report, one of the detention centers being used to house unaccompanied children did not have a trained medical tech on site and four did not provide detainees access to prescription medication.

OIG agents checked the sites for sanitation, availability of medical care, food services and other factors. Sites and their staff were found to be largely in compliance with rules and regulations.

The memo also reveals that DHS OIG is investigating a June 11 complaint to DHS Officer for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and DHS OIG filed by the ACLU on behalf of 116 unaccompanied alien children.

The office currently is investigating 16 of those allegations while separate offices are investigating the others.

During their detention site visits, OIG agents did not observe misconduct or inappropriate conduct by DHS employees nor did they receive new complaints from any of the randomly interviewed unaccompanied children.

The OIG also found that the data system used by CBP to comply with the required documentation of the arrests and care and release of unaccompanied children was unreliable because of frequent system outages causing inconsistent reporting.

CBP’s data system is supposed to be used to track compliance with guidelines including meal times per day, phone usage, detainee medical conditions and detainee arrests and releases from CBP custody.

OIG recommended Immigration and Customs Enforcement  find the resources needed to fix the system.
