Basically no amount of protesting, petitions, or unhappiness is going to change the result of the U.S. presidential election. It is over.  Huge protests when the president is sworn to office is yet another nail when America needs to unify and start addressing the horror stories of 8 years of bad health care, poor economy, and broken promises.

Add to this a complete shameful abuse of journalism who waged war on a candidate and tried to influence the election. Their polls were wrong. They did not focus on the important issues and now the The New York times, a major offender has apologized.

Ah, there’s the rub. Had the paper actually been fair to both candidates, it wouldn’t need to rededicate itself to honest reporting. And it wouldn’t have been totally blindsided by Trump’s victory.

Instead, because it demonized Trump from start to finish, it failed to realize he was onto something. And because the paper decided that Trump’s supporters were a rabble of racist rednecks and homophobes, it didn’t have a clue about what was happening in the lives of the Americans who elected the new president.

Sulzberger’s letter alludes to this, promising that the paper will “striv[e] always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you.”

But bad or sloppy journalism doesn’t fully capture the Times sins. Not after it announced that it was breaking it rules of coverage because Trump didn’t deserve fairness.

It has been a long nasty election and honestly I was hoping it would be over and we could go back to our lives.  The protests are not being started by the people. They are run by professionals who have an agenda and are afraid that there will finally be an effort to control people flooding into America, try and give big business a break so they can create jobs and compete, and introduce a new option for health care.

The election is over but the criminal investigation on Hillary is not.

Wherever the data came from, it is still a violation of national security using a private server.

Hillary Clinton will still face investigations into both her use of a private email server and the “pay-to-play” nature of the Clinton Foundation, according to chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Jason Chaffetz.

Chaffetz told Maria Bartiromo on Fox’s ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ the investigation “absolutely” continues.

"This is the largest breach of security, perhaps, in the history of the State Department," he said. “There are dozens of people in that inner circle that we are looking at.”

https://www.rt.com/usa/366697-clinton-calls-fbi-comey-resign/" rel="nofollow - READ MORE: Calls for FBI director Comey to resign as Clinton camp assigns blame

“We have perjury issues that we still want the Department of Justice to look at. We have allegations of a quid-pro-quo, we don’t know where they’re [FBI] at in terms of their investigation into the Clinton Foundation, and the FBI director, we still have some questions.”

"It’s this huge, massive mess that has to be cleaned up. So we would be remiss if we just dismissed it and moved on," Chaffetz said. "We have a lot of things that we have to fix, so it never ever happens again."

comment: The leftwing extremist will continue to try and protest what was a fair election overlooking the incredible media bias and false reporting of public opinion. CNN and Fox and especially the New York Times have lost a huge amount of credibility.

There was enough data on Hillary for me to put up a very long video from Anonymous tracking blatant lies which are on video and easy to see.

Really, there are so many issues and problems we need to address, the wars overseas, the terrible health care plan, wide open borders, and possible terrorist attacks in New York, Florida, California, and Texas.

It's time to move on.

As I stated before, Hillary Clinton did not win the popular election. This is a myth.  It is likely in more than a dozen states who do not require ID, over 3,000,000 non-citizens votes were counted for Hillary.

  Photo ID required (Strict)  red
  Photo ID requested (Non-strict) orange
Non-photo ID required (Strict) dark blue
Non-photo ID requested (Non-strict) light blue
No ID required to vote gray

Look at the gray states - and look where Hillary was the strongest.

The reason that Trump won not only the popular vote but the electoral vote as well is because people are fed up and finally the silent majority -especially the phantom voters in the midwest were heard.

Who are the groups worried that Hillary won't be able to somehow overturn a the results of the election by protests, changing the electoral college?

Illegal immigrants - it is illegal to be in the United States without having become a U.S. citizen except to visit. It is a felony to assist someone to do so.  The mayors of huge illegal population areas get huge amounts of money for programs to take care of these people. In fact, the actually electoral count in not based on citizens, it is based on population. Many states would lose votes if they only counted citizens.  In states like California where I live, New York and other large cities as well - citizens are in real problems because the resources for education, medicine, and food are being wiped out.

The fear is - that a stronger more logical system will screen immigrants and send criminals home.

Minorities and alternative life styles. Somewhere along the way it became a focus to create special programs to specically hire people by race, sex, or it is looking soon to be - sexual preference. It has already happened in the entertainment industry.

The fear is the favortism will stop. It isn't a matter of being Nazis - it is a matter of being color and gender blind. Hiring people by ability and qualifications and not lowering educational standards and bring in a half dozen other languages into our basic government operation.

The incredible loss of jobs and factories to other countries is a sign of bad economic programs and betrayal of U.S. manufacturing and businesses.

The fear is prices will go up despite the fact the car industry was destroyed, coal, oil, and the workers voted from Trump because Hillary did not support them. She was too busy supporting the people on programs and taking money as opposed to those who would pay for it.

As far as Russia goes, I personally am much more concerned about a no fly zone in Syria starting a nuclear war as opposed to doing business with Russia and working out agreements to limit nuclear weapons and make peace.

While some are concerned about being allies with Russia, being allies with the Middle East and betrayal of Christians in the U.S. who make up 70% of the population seems to be a sell out. Paying for hostages - ransom money and hiring terrorists to fight in Syria is a bad deal. Iran is amused at the weak American leaders. If Lawrence of Arabia were back he would be making better deals and being tough.  No Arabian respects a leader not able to push for a good deal or will to accept anything to get an "agreement".

Are we afraid of a Secretary of Defense or new head of the CIA that will crack down on Muslim terrorists?

The United States is a business - not a courtroom drama. We are worried about racism or violence as groups chant kill whites or anarchy as people hunt down and ambush law enforcement?

When you can't win fairly change the rules.  Right?  Why can't Obama tell the protestors to accept the election?  He said he would help and support Trump make a smooth transition.

They aren't going to vote out the electoral college. Do we want America to start the new adminstration with people trying to kill the president? It is not the people organizing these protest. In LA it was the financial interest group from Mexico.  They dont' want to see the borders put back up and enforced.

We were talking and it isn't necessary to ship anyone anywhere. It's like having ants in the kitchen. Take away the sugar, cookies, honey, or what attracts them and they will leave. Honest people will stay and work and earn their right part of America and be part of it legally.

If they manage to kill Trump - the social justice warriors - then there will be a revolution. The very worst of the bad guys will come out and there will be blood in the streets.

Despite a media that lied and the reality is that there is no real love for the minorities and poor by the democrats - it has been smoke and mirrorss. They don't are about people. They care about votes and power.  They mobilized the illegals to vote and if not - Trump would have had the popular vote as well.

People are going to die. The military is not going to support groups burning the American flag and calling for revolution. And all those organizers will vanish and stop trying to hurt and destroy America. Do you really think it is people who care about the United States who financed by a billonaire are paying people to lead these protestors?

It's over. Any further discussion of the election in the U.S. is just rehashing what has already been more than adequately covered as we suffered through the miserable campaign.

Tweet:

https://twitter.com/Rich91754" rel="nofollow -

https://twitter.com/hashtag/Trump306?src=hash" rel="nofollow - comment: Stein missed the deadline. Even President Obama says we should move on and it was the will of the people.

People can fear all they want or wait and see what really happens versus what Fox and CNN have brainwashed millions to believe.

Yes, we will have tighter borders. Yes, the workers may finally get a break and there will be more equality when organizations and programs are not biased and on race, gender, or sexual preference - just Americans.

No, people who have been taking advantage of America tradewise or not going to be happy. They may get rid of the disasterous Obamacare and work out a reasonable healthcare system people can afford.

How very sad that would be.

The Green Party made a killing in donations and it was a scam. There was no proof or evidence of voting tampering or even hacking. It was the last puff of a dying Fox and CNN towards any semblance of credibility to the world.

Time to move on. It is time for Independent News to shine more than ever and bring you - The Real News. CWN - GIM

The http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/pennsylvania-state-department-says-stein-missed-recount-deadline/article/2608305" rel="nofollow - Washington Examiner reports that Green Party Candidate Jill Stein has blown the filing deadline to force a voter-initiated recount in Pennsylvania which controls 20 electoral college votes.  This means that even if Stein can successfully challenge both Wisconsin’s and Michigan’s vote tallies, Trump will nevertheless retain the 270 electoral votes necessary to avoid invocation of House rules to decide the 2016 presidential election.

On November 8th Trump informally won the presidential election with 306 electoral votes.  States have specified deadlines to formally confirm their results.  On December 19, electors will formally file votes to confirm these results.  To successfully throw the 2016 presidential election to the House, Stein would have had to formally challenge Wisconsin’s 10, Michigan’s 16 and Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral college votes.  Even if Stein’s efforts to deny Trump the electoral votes in Wisconsin and Michigan succeed, Pennsylvania will carry the day for Trump.

Two separate sources with links to the counter-intelligence community have confirmed to Heat Street that the FBI sought, and was granted, a FISA court warrant in October, giving counter-intelligence permission to examine the activities of ‘U.S. persons’ in Donald Trump’s campaign with ties to Russia

Two separate sources with links to the counter-intelligence community have confirmed... What a joke this statement alone says this is NOT true.

These sources could be Hillary and Bill Clinton...don't believe everything you read on the net!

The writing on the wall is something will be done to address the primary financial issues of our country by someone who is not a lawyer.  The United States is probably the largest and most complex business in the world and that spends far more than we make.

Hillary - wanted to open the physical and trade barriers wide open. Do you realize what that would mean to the American worker?  As company after company goes offshore to betray our nation to make cheaper goods and bring them back here, what happens to our job market?

Tax and spend does not work when less then 1 in 3 people are working despite all the glowing numbers. There were those in our forefathers ( and mothers) who really feared a true democracy. People would simply pass laws to pay them money and quit working.

The answer is not to create more special interest programs with no idea where the money is coming from. A great leader surrounds themselves with the best advisors. Someone who is trying to take on terrorists and fight a war, appoints generals  - not lawyers. Despite a present from the current administration of a 20 trillion dollar debt, things can get better. It is time to move on. Overt lying - there is no reason for these recounts and no proof of any voter fraud. - is not a reason to try and take the electoral votes from the people of a whole state because their candidate lost.

The sooner we get to the business of building the sooner things will be better.

The price of health care insurance has skyrocketed.
Racial tensions at an all time high.
IRS targeted Obama's enemies which is criminal behavior.
Lack of solidarity with Israel.
More American's on food stamps and Medicaid than ever before.
Releasing Gitmo detainees who went right back on their killing spree.

I almost didn't vote at all in this election, but I couldn't stand the thought of Hillary becoming our president. I voted for what I thought was the lesser of 2 evils.

The election is over. It is time to move on.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/07/federal-judge-halts-recount-sealing-trumps-michigan-win.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/07/federal-judge-halts-recount-sealing-trumps-michigan-win.html

U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith agreed with Republicans who argued that the three-day recountmust end a day after the state appeals court dealt a blow to the effort. The court said Stein, who finished fourth in Michigan on Nov. 8, didn't have a chance of winning even after a recount and therefore isn't an "aggrieved" candidate.

"Because there is no basis for this court to ignore the Michigan court's ruling and make an independent judgment regarding what the Michigan Legislature intended by the term 'aggrieved,' plaintiffs have not shown an entitlement to a recount," Goldsmith said.

It was the judge's midnight ruling Monday that started the recount in Michigan. But Goldsmith's order dealt with timing — not whether a recount was appropriate. More than 20 of 83 counties already were counting ballots again. They reported minor changes in vote totals, although many precincts couldn't be examined for a second time for a variety of reasons.

Earlier Wednesday, the Michigan elections board voted, 3-1, to end the recount if Goldsmith extinguished his earlier order.

comment: Things have become so corrupt in the U.S. government in the highest and lowest of places, despite many Trump haters, not counting the illegal immigrants votes, he won both the popular and electoral votes.

No amount of hand-wringing, refusal to accept what will be a postive change for America and will bring a growing respect and better America is going to change that. The reality is that the corporations and special interest groups control a congress which needs a deep house-cleaning and the swamp needs to be drained.  We cannot build America by focusing on the rights of illegal immigrants and criminals and drug dealers and terrorists coming into America. We need stronger borders, stricter filters, and better trade agreements.

The Iran agreement to lift the sanctions has been a disaster and current trade arrangements with other nations which have taken jobs, companies to other countries to build things cheaper are hurting the U.S.

None of this would have been helped by Hillary Clinton and the open borders policy.  We now have the opportunity to turn the economy around and Wall Street is aware of that. The stocks are going up, the price of oil is getting healthier so nations dependent on oil can pay their debts to the U.
S.

While everyone deserves equal treatment, they do deserve any special treatment because of gender, race, or religion. People should not be hired first based on race or gender.

In a few days the electoral college will vote. It is doubtful, even if recounted in any state, the difference would change the election for president. There are a lot of huge issues on a global scale that need to be addressed. It is time to move on in America and begin building instead of sowing division and chaos in the streets.

sorry ParanoidMom
that is really not very helpful
not a lot of substance there
how do we "get over it'?
what dead horse are we beating?
continue forward?
what is being rehashed?

Trump is the President elect
no one denies that
a lot of people DON'T LIKE HIM
and they're not gonna keep quiet about it
just like Obama haters didn't keep quiet

that is just something Trump supporters are going to have to "get over "

I'm going to take the same attitude towards Trump
that the Republicans took towards Obama
before he was even in the White House Mitch McConnell said they were going to oppose him on EVERYTHING,and they pretty much did
if it was ok for them to do,its ok for me to do

he's already made some very bad Cabinet choices
he's only attended TWO of the DAILY security briefings / REALLY ??? just TWO
and he stays up till all  hours of the night sending out STUPID Tweets
maybe he is too tired in the morning to attend DAILY SECURITY BRIEFINGS

PLENTY to criticize on
like shooting fish in a barrel

and I just have to laugh whenever I hear someone WHINING about how bad the Obama years supposedly were
me and my family have done EXTREMELY well the last 8 years
I make more money than I ever have before
most of the older people in my family retired early because they have done so well
I could retire today if I wanted to but I have such a great, well paying job that I'm going to continue to work
my  health insurance is kick butt, only minimal increases in my cost but an expansion of benefits
life has been good
I just hope Trump doesn't screw it up
and my prediction?
he is going to preside over another massive economic downturn just like Bush did

Move on means that after 8 years of lies and corruption and failed campaign promises, Trump is making an effort, before he is even in office, to do something.

Through a lifetime I have watched presidents make all these promises and after a single briefing on "how things really are" (Clinton in particular), back down and not follow through.

Wall is street is booming. I must say, I was the primary prognosticator of doom for years and it is soaring towards 20,000. Why is that? Because financial insiders know that what we needed was a man who could get in there with nations who have been tearing us up in trade and immigration, and start cancelling deals which are ruining us.

NAFTA was a disaster. Obamacare was a joke. Sorry - but that is the bottom line. It didn't work. And many major health insurance people are not going to accept it and costs are going up. It needs to die and we need a workable realistic program that will give Americans decent health care.

This is not Jerry Springer. This is political reality. Only a few American presidents were even faithful to their wives with some having their liasons arranged by staff. We are adults. We didn't elect a pope, we elected a president.

We were on the verge of a global nuclear war with Clinton about to declare a no-fly zone in Syria which most of the generals said would lead to a conflict.

Russia spies on us and they hack. So do we. How many elections do you think the U.S. was in the middle of or contras were supported with guns and cocaine money to try and topple governments?

They are Russia, for God's sake. They are not our pals. We have been at cyber war for decades.

If you are in a room with Putin, Iran, and really intense people, you need a strong leader - not a lawyer to be at the table making a deal.

Now because the special interest groups for race, gender, and especially minorities were trying to take over and run the government lost, they are looking for a way to reverse a legal mandate of the people.

What would be the effect on America of reversing the election at this point? Hillary is still going to be investigated. What was done was criminal.

Democrats - if you are so unhappy - why didn't you choose another candidate?  There are qualified intelligent liberals who could have done a lot of good for America without accepting money from foreign governments for pay for play?

Tell you what. Reaility is reality. We work with what we have. Phantoms did not elect Trump. No one tampered with the voting machines and if most of the nastiness about Clinton was unfair to know - does not make it untrue.

It is time to move on.

Anyone in here ever gone through a divorce or split up with a lover or lost a child? It is bad. But there is a time to stop complaining and start building - and that time is now.

However, I do NOT like how Trump is playing footsie with the Russians.  We at AFT are concerned with preparedness issues....the Russians helped both Sadaam and Bashaar Assad to build their chemical weapons capabilities.  Assad was caught red-handed with tons (yep, TONS) of Russian engineered nerve agents like Sarin and V-X, and it only takes a drop to kill you.

The election results are pretty much an old story with most people (although the recent CIA assessment of Russia's involvement will likely make it an issue again). Most of the current criticisms seem to center around Trump's cabinet choices, or his behavior on Twitter, the only channel he sees fit to use when communicating with us. As with every incoming president, people are just exercising their right to voice an opinion on the way an administration plans on doing business.

Personally, I'm just worried about post-inauguration Trump. His notoriously thin hide is being protected right now because either he or his team have effectively cut most of his physical ties with the outside world. That will undoubtedly change when he takes office and has to prove he's capable of thinking on his feet and demonstrating a grasp of the issues at hand, without advisers or teleprompters to back him up. Then we'll see if he can step back from his business persona and not expect to berate or litigate his way through a conflict, be it with an adversarial reporter at a White House press conference, or a world leader that won't back down.

Hedge fund manager 'takes glee' over how Donald Trump conned his voters

I have to admit I was a little skeptical when I read the title of this story
after all DKOS is quite liberal
so maybe they slanted this just a tad

HOWEVER
it does include a DIRECT QUOTE

"

Hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson was feeling happy Wednesday morning.

After Donald Trump ridiculed Wall Street on the campaign trail, the President-elect tapped former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. executive Steven Mnuchin to be his Treasury secretary and billionaire investor Wilbur Ross to lead the Commerce Department. Trump even met with Goldman Sachs President Gary Cohn inside Trump Tower.

It would suit Tilson just fine if voters who backed Trump because he promised to rein in Wall Street are furious now that he’s surrounding himself with bankers and billionaires.

“I can take glee in that -- I think Donald Trump conned them,” said Tilson, who runs Kase Capital Management. “I worried that he was going to do crazy things that would blow the system up. So the fact that he’s appointing people from within the system is a good thing.”

what was that one part again?

I definitely do read what I write many times to be sure it makes sense, is accurate, and is spelled right.  My cousin and I, who is die-hard Republican and also a wealthy computer CEO in Silicon Valley have had some fierce discussions about Trump.

Early on I was saying this was a gaslight ruse which cloaks some deeply wrong things.
http://counsellingresource.com/features/2011/11/08/gaslighting/" rel="nofollow -
http://counsellingresource.com/features/2011/11/08/gaslighting/

Effective gaslighting can be accomplished in several different ways. Sometimes, a person can assert something with such an apparent intensity of conviction that the other person begins to doubt their own perspective. Other times, vigorous and unwavering denial coupled with a display of righteous indignation can accomplish the same task. Bringing up historical facts that seem largely accurate but contain minute, hard-to-prove distortions and using them to “prove” the correctness of one’s position is another method. Gaslighting is particularly effective when coupled with other tactics such as shaming and guilting. Anything that aids in getting another person to doubt their judgment and back down will work.

Gaslighting is just one of the many weapons in the arsenal of personalities hell-bent on having their way, even if it means doing so by subtle and covert means of conning others. One of the most important points I make in all my articles, books, and other writings about the narcissistic and most especially, the aggressive personalities, is that they will do whatever it takes to secure and maintain a position of advantage over others. And some of the most effective means at their disposal are tactics that conceal their malevolent intent while simultaneously prompting their “target” to accede to their desires. I outline the most common ones covertly aggressive folks use to manipulate others in my book In Sheep’s Clothing [ http://crjump.com/direct/jump.php?ref=shus" rel="nofollow - Amazon-US | http://crjump.com/direct/jump.php?ref=shuk" rel="nofollow - Amazon-UK ]. But it would be virtually impossible to fully list all of the various tactics expert manipulators use.

Deception is often the key ingredient in manipulation. Deception can be accomplished by outright denial, distortion of key aspects of events, and a variety of other methods, especially the more sophisticated lying techniques. And, as I have mentioned in a prior post (see “ http://counsellingresource.com/features/2009/03/04/lying-ultimate-manipulation-tactic/" rel="nofollow - Lying: The Ultimate Manipulation Tactic ”), a really accomplished liar can deceive another person by merely reciting a litany of absolutely true things — while deliberately and cleverly leaving out one or two crucial elements that would change the entire character of what they’re trying to make you believe. But a common element among all the tactics manipulators use is that they cause the person being targeted to doubt their gut instincts about what’s going on. Their gut tells them they’re under attack or that someone is trying to get the better of them, and they intuitively go on the defensive. But because they often can’t find any clear, direct, objective evidence that the other person is merely trying to disadvantage them, they start doubting and questioning themselves. This is the real secret of effective manipulation. If the “target” were solidly convinced they were in the process of being done in, they’d more likely put up more resistance instead of capitulating. Manipulators know this. They win by getting the other person to back down or give in.

comment: The problem in a complex political environment with huge numbers of candidates using mind-control Uzis through the mainstream media is second-guessing who is lying and about how much.

The U.S. is no longer the mega-hitter they once were against a world where there are third-world nations sitting with a CARE box on their lap and hoping the U.S. will loan them money.

In fact, one of the basics of an economy changing or money shifting to different people is to get those in power - out.  To replace those  who have everything so locked up and controlled, the voice of the worker and those who have lost control has been silenced.

Short of an all out revolution we have elections. And this time the media lied and tried to convince everyone it was a done deal and everyone hated Trump. Not so.

Yet citing Lawrence of Arabia ("nothing is written") expect those in a room trying to make a deal to cheat. No one in a warzone as the enemy is hidden in the bushes and fires on them, gains anything by yelling "That wasn't fair!"  Well - guess what?   War is not fair. And the U.S. is at war by proxy with some pretty heavy hittters and as long as we continue to slink around with our tail between our legs being sorry, we are going to lose.

We don't need a Nazi or a genocide leader, but we do need a Commander-in-Chief who is a general and tough. Some of the greatest battles have been won not by pure logic, but by someone with a few not-so-sharp tacks in their box.

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see what is being done in our economy, the health care system, and especially our foreign policy that is not working. If you want to change things, you don't put people in who are in bed with the policies and those who voted for them in Congress,  that have failed for decades.

How much is gaslight and smoke and mirrors? Most of the Clinton campaign was. I posted 30 minute clips of lying constantly and 180 degree turns on vital issues.

We have a fierce and vocal public. Yet, we do need to unite as a nation - for that is the only way we can show any strength to the world. All this bickering after an election is hurting us.

Every morning when I get up before dawn, I look out at the sky and I think - Med - it's time to move on. Whatever mistakes you have made - wrong choices - terrible disasters you have walked into - it's a new day and you are alive and you can now make better choices.

What is a good choice for the U.S. president? One which will bring about positive change in our economy, our credibility with the world and respect of us from  leaders around the world. As I see it - the stocks are going up - leaders are now willing to negotiate rather than just demand and there is low of level of fear in our enemies about Trump  as to "what in the hell will this person do"?

In any battle - and we are in one with many groups and nations in the world- that must exist. No one is going to negotiate if they are not just a little afraid of what might happen - if they don't.

Great post, JD!  I'm also worried that his rookie status at world diplomacy will trigger some conflagration somewhere, he seems totally fixated on "making the deal" (as you might expect from a real estate guy), but there's a lot more to diplomacy than deal making.

This is an excellent article about China and Taiwan, and how Trump could goof it up:

It would appear that the Green Party's recount efforts are basically fizzling.

Pennsylvania recount

A federal judge dealt another blow Monday to the Green Party-backed push for a presidential election recount in key battleground states, rejecting a request to recount paper ballots in Pennsylvania and scan some county systems for signs of hacking.

The Green Party has made similar attempts at recounts in Wisconsin and Michigan, all states won by President-elect Donald Trump. But while the Wisconsin count is almost done, a federal judge halted Michigan's recount last week – the decision Monday in Pennsylvania amounts to another setback for Jill Stein and her allies.

In his 31-page decision, U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond said there were at least six grounds that required him to reject the Green Party's lawsuit, which had been opposed by Trump, the Pennsylvania Republican Party and the Pennsylvania attorney general's office.

Suspicion of a hacked Pennsylvania election "borders on the irrational," wrote Diamond, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, a Republican.

"Most importantly, there is no credible evidence that any `hack' occurred, and compelling evidence that Pennsylvania's voting system was not in any way compromised," Diamond wrote. He also said the lawsuit suffered from a lack of standing, potentially the lack of federal jurisdiction and an "unexplained, highly prejudicial" wait before filing last week's lawsuit, four weeks after the Nov. 8 election.

comment: There are of course humanitarian concerns around the world as per "deal making". Moving people in the Cabinet - who are profounding averse to the stances in the Obama administration is a way to change what is far from a legacy. It is hard to establish any possible good of Obamacare - aggressive anti-business policies which focus more on shutting down the coal and oil industry in the U.S. and bringing in foreign workers and supporting immigrants on the backs of U.S. tax payers.

Despite grumbling against Christians and their profound part as well as the God they believe in, in the establishing of our Democracy, replacing a tradition and history of one nation, under God - with  country torn by division and growing anarchy in the streets, was not something for anyone to be proud of.

The increase in reverse discrimination and a revolution against law enforcement in a time when the inner cities are in sometimes critical states, helped no one.

It would appear most of the world is regrouping to try and deal with a Trump reality. Perhaps he is not a Teddy Roosevelt with his rough riders thundering south of the border in Cuba,
http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/roughriders.htm" rel="nofollow - http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/roughriders.htm
but why not risk securing the borders, sending illegal immigrant criminals back, and increasing or monitoring of those coming into the U.S. who hate us and would attack America?
How long has it been since we have had a president that might be willing to fight for the American people to fix what is wrong?

Obama is not going to leave behind a glowing legacy of accomplishment or wise decisions no matter how hard they try to spin it that way. It was a disaster for the American people for 8 years and no real gains were made in any significant areas. That is a rather sweeping statement, but over all it is accurate.

China has expressed "serious concern" following US President-elect Donald Trump's comment United States did not necessarily have to stick to its long-held stance that Taiwan is part of "one China", calling it the basis for relations.

Trump's comments on Fox News Sunday, questioning nearly four decades of US policy, came after he prompted a diplomatic protest from China over his decision to accept a telephone call from Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on December 2.

China's Foreign Ministry said cooperation was "out of the question" if Washington could not recognise Beijing's core interest on Taiwan, indicating it would reject any effort by Trump to use the issue as a bargaining chip in a long list of commercial and security problems facing the two countries.

"China has noted the report and expresses serious concern about it. I want to stress that the Taiwan issue concerns China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and involves China's core interests," said ministry spokesman Geng Shuang.

"Upholding the 'one China' principle is the political basis for developing China-US ties. If this basis is interfered with or damaged then the healthy development of China-US relations and bilateral cooperation in important areas is out of the question," Geng told a daily news briefing.

In a separate statement, the ministry cited Foreign Minister Wang Yi as warning during a trip to Switzerland against moves to damage the "one China" principle, having been asked by a reporter about Trump's call with Tsai.

"China is paying close attention to developments," Wang said. "I can clearly say that no matter whether the Tsai Ing-wen authority, any other person in the world, or any other force, if they try and damage the one China principle and harm China's core interests, in the end they are lifting a rock only to drop it on their feet."

Despite China's discontent, it has reached out to Trump.

Spokesman Geng said China's top diplomat Yang Jiechi, who outranks the foreign minister, had met with Trump advisers, including his pick for national security adviser, retired Army Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, during a transit in New York on his way to Latin America in recent days.

"Both sides exchanged views on China-US ties and important issues both are concerned with," Geng said, without elaborating.

He did not give a precise date for the meeting, and it was unclear if it occurred before or after Trump's latest remarks on Taiwan, which Beijing considers a renegade province.

Geng urged the incoming Trump administration to fully recognise the sensitivity of the Taiwan issue and uphold a 'one China' policy to "avoid the broader picture of China-US ties being seriously interfered with or damaged".

Trump plans to nominate a long-standing friend of Beijing, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, as the next US ambassador to China.

Med - eight years ago, many of us were discussing the very real possibility of having to prep for a global depression rather than a pandemic. The domestic auto industry was in danger of sinking without trace, foreclosures were running at record levels, and the stock market was dead in the water. Obama certainly didn't do all he promised while he was in office, but considering that house Republicans like Mitch McConnell pledged from the beginning of his presidency to block everything he tried to do, it was remarkable that anything was acheived.

As long as the Federal Reserve Bank controls the currency, presidential elections are nothing more than political theatrics. Ask yourselves a question, since the first time you first cast a ballot in a presidential election, name one thing that has ever truly changed, except for higher taxation, regulations, and more laws. The wars on poverty, homelessness, hunger, illiteracy, drugs, terrorism, and ....... still rages on! For all of the trillions of dollars that have been pissed away, you would think we would have reached Nirvana by now.

This is a very interesting comment and I thank you for posting it. One thing that has truly changed is we have never had a billionaire for president. Politicians throughout the history of the United States could be bought in one way or another, if only by the money to help them get elected.

I have never seen any president take on both Boeing and Lockheed Missiles and Space. I worked at Lockheed and during the time of nuclear missile production and other contracts, no one dared to say - you are charging too much.

Rarely has a president balked at using much less financing with taxpayer money Air Force One. Few have stood up to China and most recently Iran for that matter.

Perhaps a few - as in Bush - stood up and sent troops into Iraq after they invaded Kuwait and kicked some butt for the first time in decades anywhere. Kennedy in my lifetime told Russia to backoff and they did. We all felt we were on the verge of a nuclear war.

Presidents have come and gone with their mistresses and shady encounters where perhaps less than you can count on the fingers of your two hands have been faithful to their wives.

If Wall Street is so powerful then they must know something about Trump that most don't - look at the market.

The Democrats still won't quit and accept the Hillary lost.

President-elect Donald Trump's victories in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania were certified Monday, further affirming his win over Democrat Hillary Clinton in last month's presidential election.

Wisconsin finalized its recount, which showed Trump beating Clinton by more than 22,000 votes, on the same day that a federal judge issued a stinging rejection of a Green Party-backed request to recount paper ballots in Pennsylvania's presidential election and scan some counties' election systems for signs of hacking.

Later Monday, Pennsylvania certified the state's results in the Nov. 8 election, which saw Trump defeat Clinton by more than 44,000 votes.

comment: Yet, now we have a new strategy. Say the vote was invalid because of Russian hacking emails and having them published.

And once again - the same song. No, we aren't trying to invalidate the election, we just want to know the truth i.e. President Obama.

Since when do the NSA, the FBI, or the CIA start making public their private intelligence?  This is not the FBI, CIA, or NSA I know. Secrecy is important to protect agents,  contacts, and lives, and people in place and investigations. Since when do they publically tell what is going on with hackers from Russia?

If the government hadn't blown it by announcing plans to invade Mosul, we would have probably gotten the head of ISIS. Trump said this was dumb and criticized them for it.

At the same time, Clinton was a huge security risk and even gave away the protocol for the U.S. president to respond to a nuclear threat and specifics on it which were a violation of national security.

The Democrats were in power and helped to form ISIS just as they did the Mujahadeen.  Arming terrorists and sending them to training camps is not the way to deal with the Middle East. The rebels in Syria were for the most part terrorists who were attacking us in other areas.

Nothing is more degrading to women than to betray your own wife and having sex in the White House and then be impeached for it. Not the sex - for lying about it.

Trump is bringing not only people of color into the Cabinet, but women to powerful positions and continues to break the glass ceiling in many ways.  He did not use this as a campaign circus to get votes and the people he is picking to make things better for the blacks and minorities are significant intelligent voices who will help clean up the inner cities.

Who has done this in 30 years? No one.

Up until now money has ruled most of Congress and even the Presidency. Not any more. This president doesn't need their money. He has his own. Yet, he is sensitive to and trying to help the working class, businesses, and bring jobs back.

There will be change and it's about time isn't it?  Time to move on and build a better America. I am tired of being ashamed of our policies and actions around the world. I want to be proud of my country, our armed forces, our law enforcement, and the salt of the earth people who break their backs working to support the majority who don't. I already am and now we have someone who respects these people as well.

My previous post was dealing with domestic issues that Americans face on a daily basis. Politicians live in a different reality than the vast majority of Americans. They don't truly represent their constituents, they're in the back pockets of the Central Bank, Wall Street, Big Pharma, Military Industrial Complex, Big Oil, and whom ever else grease their treads with campaign contributions. And, all the while we struggle to keep roofs over our heads and food in our stomachs. Every election cycle it's always the same BS, about how we need change, but what ever charges for the better on a micro economic level for the everyday American? Yeah, the Central Bank has kept the interest rate artificially low to off set the value of the dollar, but aside from that energy prices are up, college tuition is way up, food prices are up. So, if Hillary would have won I really don't see how she would have improved the everyday situation for most working class Americans either.

Here's an example of something that could have changed the lives of Americans. When President Obama first took office in 2008, he ran on a platform of Hope and Change. There's hardly a day that goes by that we don't hear about climate change, and how the administration was going to usher in a new era of shovel ready jobs in the technology sector to help combat carbon emissions. Well, we all know what happened with Solyndra, and all of that money that went down that rabbit hole! Imagine if our tax dollars weren't squandered away on this, that, and the other, and instead that money invested in powering most homes in America with solar systems. But, we all know that if Americans cut the cord with their utility companies that would cut into profits, and cities would lose tax revenues. How would they tax the sunlight?

Wrong.

This is infighting of the Democrats over the betrayal of Bernie Sanders by an aggressive Hillary Clinton and revenge for stealing the nomination. It has nothng to do with the Russians at all.  The entire circus was so corrupt with hired people to sabatoge the Republican rallys and start violence. Fox and CNN are hurting and are now resorting to creating news versus reporting it.

Personally, I haven't seen Bernie stir up so much excitement in a very long time! In my area there were Bernie signs everywhere, and people canvassing neighborhoods during the primary urging anyone and everyone who would listen to vote for Bernie. My wife worked the polls during the primary, and she said people were tremendously excited about Bernie. I know a lot of die hard Bernie supporters, and they felt robbed by the Hillary' campaign. I noticed an interesting observation after the primary, I saw only a handful of Hillary yard signs out, and absolutely no enthusiasm for her at all. I'm a member of one of the largest labor unions in the country, and there was no overwhelming excitement for her at all compared to Bernie. The Democrats shot themselves in the foot by stealing the nomination away from Bernie because I think he could have beat Trump. I got the sense that Hillary felt she was entitled to the democratic nomination and presidency.

This isn't spin. This is basically the source of where the emails came from that were up on Wiki. No evidence has been posted of actual Russian hacking except for one attempt on one email.

This a clear and pure effort to ruin the electorial vote without any proof or evidence.

It is incredible how both Fox and CNN are once again trying to change the election.  The liberals are now so desperate they are trying to create such a furor that the no one will get a majority and the president won't even be elected by the people. Clinton won't get it. And if they put in someone who is not elected really - there will be anarchy in the streets.

We suffered through countless polls generated by the mainstream that were totally non-representative of how people felt.  Then we endured people hired by a billionaire working with Mexico hiring people to demonstrate and chant "not our president".

There are indeed some powerful people, and many of them part of the huge corrupted infrastructure in place that has been selling pay for play to foreign countries for years.

I do not have a personal spin nor do I have anything to gain or lose by this election. I am Independant wish we had had better candidates.

Yet we cannot let huge press based on "rumors" that are not even substantiated control peoples minds and also generate fake news.

As I stated and know, the FBI, CIA, and NSA have an obligation to keep things secret and not available to anyone without a need to know for national security - not the fodder of another attempt to invalidate the election.

If they knew about these attempts to hack - and let's face it - we have been at cyberwar for years - why not act sooner.  Wherever the emails came from and it highly unlikely it was Russia, what about the content. That has been forgotten. They clearly show criminal activity at the highest levels that anyone else not in the system would go to jail for.

Can you imagine an agent working for FBI or CIA found involved with foreign government taking money and building an empire greater than 100 million dollars while working in a capacity and running an organization which fronted all these transactions?

The Democratic party continues to try and divide America as well as an outgoing president who did no good in 8 years and lied to the people on many occassions.  This is reality. The real issues - that are crucial to our survival as an economic and military power in the world are at stake here. This is no Jerry Springer drama we can watch and eat popcorn and find amusing.

America is in danger and we need a strong leader as well new courses of action to build our economy and become great once more.

one more thing: The true unemployment rate is up in the 30%s which is greater than the worst year of the Great Depression.  Huge numbers have left the work force and are not even counted and our current numbers are based on that. This method of putting out positive numbers when actually huge numbers of people are losing their jobs and are in real trouble, is worse than ever.

And this is so typical of mainstream to take this kind of thing and run with it days before the electoral college votes to try ONCE AGAIN to control the election.

No doubt, these are Ninja type attacks holding American in suspense with "this investigation will take weeks" when we don't have weeks can do a lot of damage.

We Avian Flu Talk people should really go back our roots of questioning conspiracy theories (Tin Hats) with no proof.

Google does not equal truth nor does Youtube - both which are heavily controlled. One does have to go outside of America in terms of data and information to get the real news in many instances. It has been that way for years. When I stopped using Google as my main search engine, I began find things other people weren't finding. That includes Bing and other tracker machines that log everything you do. Never in history has information been so controlled and often more falsely reported than in the present day mainstream media which is rapidly losing total credibility to growing number of people who want "the real news".

Obama certainly didn't do all he promised while he was in office, but considering that house Republicans like Mitch McConnell pledged from the beginning of his presidency to block everything he tried to do, it was remarkable that anything was acheived.

We still need to prep for a global depression. Since stocks are highly overvalued and long overdue for a major correction and also our debt in American and other nations is at an all time high, it has to hit the fan eventually.  Those with the money - in control of the Congress and the economy have become so powerful they keep blocking attempts to drain the swamp - eventually with all the flawed reports and lies - unless we really get someone in there to get us on the right path - it will happen.

The banks - over 300 of them will fail and the intant tellers will either shut down or limit withdrawals so badly, no one can even pay their rent or buy food.  Much like a power grid failure when you flick a switch and the lights go out - it will be a bloodless crash and no one in government will take responsibility and many will not even be in the U.S. Most of their money and manufacturing will be offshore and if America sinks - there will be no tears shed.

Common sense is to be ready for this and that has been a major focus of AFT for many the many years a lot of us have been here. Prepare.

It still should be.

Can someone answer this question, how would a Trump presidency benefit the Russians over a Clinton Presidency? The Russians seemed like they had a pretty cozy relationship with the Obama Administration when Obama and medvedev had their little hot mike chat. And, Hillary didn't seem to think the Russians were all that bad when she made the uranium deal, and gave a speech in Moscow. So, why would Putin sabotage the Hillary campaign when they seemed to be buddy-buddy?

Trump did not lose the popular vote. It is likely many illegal immigrants votes were counted and in numerous states more votes were cast than there were registered voters.

These news releases, and one might noted the bias escalates as we move from Fox, to CNN, to Washington Post and finally the New York times, still have no supporting evidence which has been released in any form to justify them.  The New York times is the most biased of all.

The Real News as oppossed to the fake news which is actually coming from the mainstream which is trying to suppress and silence the independents, is that all of the material used in the Wiki Leaks came from a person who was unhappy that Cllinton had taken the nomination away from Bernie Sanders.

In the background Hillary Clinton was planning an expanded role for intelligence agencies while behind the scenes involved in illegal activities of pay for play.

http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2016/12/14/how-come-no-one-involved-in-the-russian-hacking-conspiracy-talked/" rel="nofollow - http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2016/12/14/how-come-no-one-involved-in-the-russian-hacking-conspiracy-talked/

The claims that the Russian government hacked US voting machines are absurd. Voting machines are not connected to the Internet. To hack a voting machine you have to be physically in proximity to the machine and use a hand held device. The machines can be programmed to throw the vote count to one candidate or the other, and there are other ways to interfere with elections. Possibly if a foreign power had server presence in the US, some precinct reports of results could be intercepted and altered, although a voice check over the telephone is an easy way to verify the electronic transmission. What is clear is that Russia cannot hack the voting machines.

What about the claims that Russia hacked Hillary’s emails and used a network of 200 Internet websites to convince the American people to vote for Trump? Wikileaks, which released the emails, said they were a leak, not a hack, and that they did not come from Russians. The FBI and the Director of National Intelligence do not support the CIA’s claims. Or should we say claims attributed to the CIA as apparently the source of the claims, like the source of PropOrNot, is unknown.

And look at the size of the alleged conspiracy—the Kremlin and 200 websites. Surely someone would have talked!

John McCain says he is sure Russia did something and we need a congressional investigation to find out what.

Why not start with an investigation of PropOrNot and what they are up to? We also need an investigation why Americans living in big cities on the NE and West coasts were immune to Russian fake news, whereas the geographical bulk of the country succumbed to the Russian fake news instead of to the presstitute fake news that conquered the NE and West coasts.

The FBI says that the claims attributed to the CIA would not stand up in court. So what are the claims all about? Who is behind them? Are there elements within the CIA committing treason by working against president-elect Trump? Are there elements in the US Congress committing treason by trying to sway electors with fake news resting on unattributed claims that the Russians, not the American people, elected Trump? Why these claims in the absence of proof?

What we are experiencing in the delegitimization of Donald Trump is an extraordinary rejection of democracy by elements in the government and by the presstitutes.

comment: So it boils down to it would be very difficult to massively infiltrate and change the votes on the voting machines because they are not networked. The moles in place and number of people involved would be in the thousands and in the one recount Trump actually gained votes, not lost them.

The battleground for President is not done until Monday. And through their own leaks with no real proof the Democrats are still trying to control the U.S. election. They failed with false polls, they failed with paid protestors, and they failed inciting people to kill policeman and hiring handicapped people to stir up violence at Trump rallies.

If they finally do mess up the electoral vote it will plunge America into chaos when China is beginning to test limits and Obama is growling about potential cyber retribution when they committed an act of war taking the U.S. military property - the drone - and once more it is a weak foregin policy with a lot of threats and no action.

Eventually we independents will see a vast army of news reporters bring you what is happening beyond the political control and special interest group supported corrupoted mainstream media.

This is what happened with Wikileaks. If there was other information it was known months ago and during the period of the election when it was most useful to the Democrats versus the backdown on the criminal activity of Hillary Clinton, it should have been brought out.  Not now, 3 days before the electroal college votes.

This is the likely way it went down - in the real world.

I agree!  I first became involved in bioterrorism during the Jimmy Carter/Leonid Brezhnev years, and Pres. Ronald Reagan really took it to the USSR.

This is absolutely pathetic, Russia will eat our lunch.

Also, they did hack stuff from the RNC, and they are keeping the good bits for blackmail later.  Old KGB trick.  Probably lots of stuff about Denny Hastert assaulting young boys etc.

I have not seen where they said voting machines were hacked

Assange involved up to his eyeballs
he released damaging info in a manner designed to do the most damage
funny he had nothing on the Republicans ?
hmm
what was his agenda ?

and if millions of illegal votes were cast
lets see the PROOF ? repeating the same lie over and over doesnt make it so except in the mind of Trump supporters
I notice the Donald is not pressing for an investigation of what would have to be
the biggest voter fraud in the history of the freaking country?
whats with that ?

the electoral college decision will not be overturned
and I'm glad
that way the coming financial collapse will get blamed on Trump
it was coming anyway
he will speed things up from 50mph to 150mph

its gonna be over the cliff Thelma and  Louise style

anyone can see that

I did see where he agreed to attend daily  security briefings 3x a week instead on only once
apparently he doenst understand the meaning of the word DAILY
apparently we are on our own the other 4 days
but then he said he is so smart he knows more than the generals
maybe he should be briefing them ?

What influenced the outcome of the election was that Hillary was a terrible candidate. Let's just say for the sake of argument that the Russians were behind the hacking of the DNC and John Podesta's emails, what about the level of corruption that those emails exposed? Not to mention the level of arrogance that Hillary had towards the Bernie supporters and the rest of the deplorables. And, the Russians didn't tell Hillary to set up a private server, and email classified State Department material through it!

Please show me on this cite where there is any formal mention that Russia hacked the U.S. elections.

http://www.cia.gov/index.html" rel="nofollow - https://www.cia.gov/index.html

or this site

http://www.fbi.gov/" rel="nofollow - https://www.fbi.gov/

I searched both sites for any articles mentioning that Russia sabotaged the elections and could not find one. If you can find one, please post it. I rely on others to help me keep up.

A secret report alledgedly handed to media is not secet and would be a breach of national security. Fox Network, CNN, and Washingpost are reaching the point where they are little more credible than National Enquirer where there is at least some truth in some of the articles.

The current blasts from the mainstream are a last ditch attempt to reverse an election where the Democrats lost.  Even in todays headlines they haven't quit. In fact, they are even talking about trying to sabatoge the count of the electoral votes by challenging them.

CNN goes off on the fact the Trump had he 44th-largest share of the electoral vote out of 54 presidential elections since the modern system started in 1804.

John F. Kennedy in 1960 was the 45th in a hotly contested election with rumors of fixed polls in Texas and other states.

The United States is now divided right down the middle and those promising (Hillary Clinton who conceded and President Obama who promised to help in a smooth transition) both have joined efforts to either discredit the President Elect or invalidate the win.

As I continued to research the possible number of votes by illegal immigrants who were not required to show ID, it could be as little as a million or as great as 7 million votes. This is not fixing the machines, it is allowing people, illegal, dead, or multiple cast votes to be counted.

One of the prime reasons we have an electoral college is prevent the large population centers from controlling the leadership and keeping any candidate not supported by New England and West Coast high population centers from being elected from happening.

High population centers have evolved to equal places of high immigration.

As for proof the Russians hacked the voting machines, it is not possible. As for them being responsible for the Wikileaks emails that devastated Hillary, it is unlikely and there still is no proof that they handed them to anyone to put up.

This is pure fabrication of the mainstream media who has chosen to ignore the fact the emails were terrible and showed criminal acts, bad things about the Clintons and a web of lies that extends back for decades.

Keeping up on things is not being aware of myths being pumped out there by the mainstream of secret documents and inside sources who could very well be made up.

There is no doubt this drama will be stretched out to the last day and we will lucky if someone about to be kicked out of the swamp doesn't hire someone to make sure it is never cleaned up.

We do not need our country thrown into chaos when both China and Russia loom up and as far as putting in leaders who are puppets - America wrote the book. We have been backing insurgencies and revolts since Afghanistan when we trained the Mujahdeen who later became the Al Queda.

Now we are fighting ISIS another group trained and armed by the U.S. who went rogue.

It is time for a change and it is also time to move on.  Had the Republicans done this type of thing - hiring protestors to march in the streets and declaring Hillary "not my president" the liberal press would have cried foul and outrage.

We have a bi-partisan system for a reason. We don't need a king in who ignores Congress and with excecutive orders declares things.  I have a feeling this president will work with Congress and world leaders to make better deals and give America prestige and respect which they have not had for the last 8 years.

It is time to move on.

Surprised that Fox is finally smelling the coffee.

President Elect Donald Trump secures victory in Electoral College

Clinton snubbed by more 'faithless electors' than Trump

The much-hyped rebellion of GOP 'faithless electors' fell flat Monday, when only two Republicans electors voted for someone other than Donald Trump. Far more Democratic electors defected from Hillary Clinton in the end.

In Texas, one elector voted for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, while another voted for libertarian Ron Paul. But that was the only disruption on the Republican side but protest votes popped up on the Democratic side in several state capitals.

In Minnesota, an elector tried to vote for Bernie Sanders and was replaced for a Clinton voter per state law. Meanwhile in Maine an elector tried to cast a vote for Sanders but was rebuked and voted for Clinton when he was told he could not for someone else. A Colorado elector who tried to back Ohio Gov. John Kasich was replaced, just as in Minnesota.

However, in Washington State there was a legitimate rebellion against Clinton, where she received only 8 of the 12 electoral votes. Three electors voted for former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell, while another voted for Native American activist Faith Spotted Eagle.

The Washington State incident marked the first time in four decades the state's electors broke from the popular vote. Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman vowed to work with the state attorney general and charge the four unfaithful electors with a violation of Washington state civil law. Such violations carry a fine up to $1,000.

What Drumpf and the GOP need to realize is that the Russian knife cuts both ways....sure, they released tons of hacked emails about Hillary.  How much juicy stuff do you think Putin has on Trump?

Tons, I'd say.  They probably have his tax returns, and who knows how much dirt on Republicans who like to chase young boys etc. around their desk?

The old Soviet tricks still work, they used the "honey trap" all the time for blackmail.

Greetings to my friends of both parties…….

To All Of My Democrat Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, expressed or implied, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with full respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2017, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures. This is, of course, neither to suggest nor imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country; also, this is not to imply that "America," as noted herein, is the only America in the Western Hemisphere.

I sincerely hope that you are not offended by or feel uncomfortable with these heartfelt wishes, or feel the need to retire to a safe space to contemplate the true intent of these wishes, and that they be received by you with equal intensity regardless of distribution of individual wealth, documented carbon footprint, or perceived social privilege among the wishes addressed herein.

These wishes are genuinely being offered to you without regard to race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference, and even if you secretly voted for Trump.

To All Of My Republican Friends:

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Blessed New Year!!

Driverless trucks threaten jobs in 'Trumpland'

By freelance contributor Elle Hardy in Texas

Truck driver John Jacques has a lot on his mind as he hauls his 33,000-litre petrol tanker over 18 hours a day, six days a week, travelling the length and breadth of America.

"I'm trying to decide if I should give up," says the 56-year-old during a break at the Petro Truckstop in east Texas.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/john-jacques-contemplates-retirement/8136586" rel="nofollow">John Jacques contemplates retirement. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/john-jacques-contemplates-retirement/8136586" rel="nofollow -

Worn down by a tough industry that's getting tougher, he's wondering if it's time get out and go fishing.

Barrelling down the technology highway towards this iconic industry looms the spectre of driverless trucks.

The technology, now undergoing trials, is being touted as a way of reducing a massive road toll. There are nearly half a million accidents involving trucks each year, with 4,000 fatalities, or about 11 deaths a day.

"Driver behaviours such as speeding and texting continue to challenge efforts to reduce accidents," said Chris Spear, head of the trucking industry association.

"Automation could be the solution for bringing the number of highway fatalities where it should be — zero."

Despite test snafus in California, where driverless cars ran red lights and failed to respect bike lanes, ride-sharing upstart Uber says it's just a process of product improvement.

The Teamsters union disagrees, with spokeswoman Kara Deniz saying: "We believe trained, professional drivers will continue to be necessary for the safe operation of vehicles."

For all the talk of safety, the economics are clear. Trucks carrying themselves around the highways will save an estimated $US168 billion annually.

In late October, Uber off-shoot Otto delivered beer in Colorado using a remotely operated truck, the first driverless shipment ever.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/ubers-self-driving-truck-startup-otto/8136602" rel="nofollow">Ubers first self-driving truck, Otto on the road. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/ubers-self-driving-truck-startup-otto/8136602" rel="nofollow -

Software developers are working on one remote driver overseeing multiple vehicles at once, and ultimately removing the need for significant human involvement.

Otto has made two further successful truck deliveries in ordinary traffic in Ohio. State Governor John Kasich champions the technology, despite his state having one of the nation's highest numbers of truck drivers.

Otto is selling the technology as an aid to drivers, not a replacement.

"Truck drivers will have the opportunity to rest during long stretches of highway while the truck continues to drive," the company claims.

"It's highly unlikely to get into a collision, drive aggressively, or waste a single drop of fuel."

But the nation's 3.5 million truck drivers know their future is on the line.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/trucker-magazines-advertise-jobs/8136640" rel="nofollow">Trucker magazines advertise jobs http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/trucker-magazines-advertise-jobs/8136640" rel="nofollow -

A human industry at risk

Trucking is the single biggest occupation in 29 states in America, and one of the biggest in the country.

President-elect Donald Trump has so far been silent on the impact of automation on jobs, but his campaigning on employment has raised expectations he'll protect them.

"I think Mr Trump will help the truckers," said Trump voter Robert Smith, 59.

"We just don't know what's going on with jobs, so many things are changing."

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/robert-smith-eats-at-the-iron-skillet-at-petro-truckstop/8136612" rel="nofollow">Robert Smith eats at the Iron Skillet at the Beaumont Petro truckstop. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/robert-smith-eats-at-the-iron-skillet-at-petro-truckstop/8136612" rel="nofollow -

However, Mr Trump's choice for labour secretary, fast-food executive Andy Puzder, has long been a proponent of automation of low-skilled jobs.

"[Machines are] always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, there's never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case," Mr Puzder said.

Trump won by a 30 percentage point margin in counties that have the highest number of "routine" jobs like manufacturing, retailing, and truck driving — work that is vulnerable to offshoring and automation. Automation will become a hot-button political issue pretty quickly.

Professor Frank Levy, labour economist at MIT, says technology has similar effects to trade.

"People have to adjust, but it's very hard to adjust when things come at you at such a rapid speed," he said.

"Your identity is wrapped up in what you do."

Driverless trucks are yet to be tested in conditions like ice and inner cities, but if successful, government regulation will be the final hurdle to wide-scale adoption.

Uber has already snubbed regulators, defying a Californian requirement for testing permits for driverless cars, in what it argues is an "important issue of principle".

Former treasury secretary Lawrence Summers recently said he expects one-third of men aged between 25 and 54 will be out of work by 2050.

Underemployment, addiction, decreasing life expectancy, and income inequality are on the rise since the global financial crisis of 2007. Dramatic changes to major industry sectors will further destabilise the social fabric.

'You need the human in everything'

Caroline, a driver for 18 years, loves her job, but it is the social interaction between the long stints on the road that sustains her.

She sees Uber's vision of driverless technology working in tandem with drivers for non-stop trips as horrific.

"I like the meeting people, I like running my mouth," the 67-year-old said on a break.

Having driven long-haul trucks since he was 18, nothing will convince John Jacques that a truck without a driver could be safer.

"Driverless trucks are not safe," he said.

"If something goes wrong, they'll cause a lot of damage."

Next door to the diner, the Beaumont Truckstop Ministry offers a place of respite, where people pray for safe travels.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/gavin-bellomy-prepares-to-give-his-sermon/8136620" rel="nofollow">Gavin Bellomy prepares to give his sermon at Beaumont Truckstop Ministry. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-21/gavin-bellomy-prepares-to-give-his-sermon/8136620" rel="nofollow -

Former trucker Gavin Bellomy preaches once a month, after finding God at a roadside stop 10 years ago.

He finds automated truck driving "scary", and says everyone is watching the new President-elect.

"I'm not sure about Trump, but I hope he puts in some of the program he promised, because we need it," he says.

Caroline says there's a widespread feeling changes are being imposed by people who don't understand what it's like on the road.

"As long as there are necessities in life, you need truck drivers," Caroline said preparing to set off on her next stretch.

"You need the human in everything."

great article
it certainly reveals how scared and very NAIVE people can be
they're going to be sadly disappointed when Trump doesn't bring back their jobs
its just NOT going to happen
Trump played on their fears quite effectively
Trump supporters just don't get it
technology is going to cover them like a tsunami
it's really quite sad
the blacksmith jobs aren't coming back
the buggy whip maker jobs aren't coming back
the whaling jobs aren't coming back

Living in California, A.K.A. The People's Republic of California, Trump's victory at least offers us law abiding gun owners some hope in the United States Supreme Court. California is a one party state with a extremely anti second amendment legislature and governor. They go out of their way to pass the most asinine anti gun laws, and look down on gun owners as deplorables.

Thanks, Satori!  You are correct, many or most of these jobs are gone for good.

I work in industry, and automation is like a tsunami for employment.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/21/upshot/the-long-term-jobs-killer-is-not-china-its-automation.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/21/upshot/the-long-term-jobs-killer-is-not-china-its-automation.html

I visited a paper mill in Minnesota a while back, and was amazed to see almost no workers.   I saw a few teams of mechanics and a few technicians in lab coats, operating the PLC (process logic controller) computer systems from the floor.

When I asked about it, I was told that the old plant was heavily unionized, and they were always a big pain to management.  Management shut down the old mill, tore it down, and built a new one using the most modern automation tools available.

This has been happening in factories and assembly lines across the USA.  I don't have an answer for those who lost their jobs to the automation wave, except that they shouldn't trust anything Trump says about it.

Perhaps the tide flows both ways in this case. Daily briefings are a way to keep track of the President every day and what he is thinking. Whether mainstream is aware of it or not, the three agencies, FBI, CIA, and NSA do not always get along as well as Homeland Security with them as well.

It has been said that the FBI is old school and dated at one time Homeland was trying to put more of all of it under their control.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/the_best_policy/2002/10/spooks_vs_suits.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/the_best_policy/2002/10/spooks_vs_suits.html

While geography represents an obvious difference between the FBI and the CIA—the Bureau takes the homeland, the Agency the rest—it is far from the most important. The FBI is a law enforcement organization that was designed to track down and arrest the crooks that local cops can't. The CIA is an intelligence agency that was designed to tell policy-makers what's really going on in the world. One measures its accomplishment by successful convictions, the other by successful predictions. Both use intelligence to do their jobs, but catching the kidnapper of the Lindbergh baby and determining whether Gen. Badenov still has influence with Khrushchev are two very different goals. And because the work is so different, the two agencies differ in how they collect, analyze, act upon, and share intelligence.

comment: Now there was talk that Hillary might get the FBI bigger contracts and possibly a piece of the International Pie.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/fbi-director-james-comey-on-threat-of-isis-cybercrime/" rel="nofollow - http://www.cbsnews.com/news/fbi-director-james-comey-on-threat-of-isis-cybercrime/

It is hard to believe that Comey had some huge wave of regret that they did not pursue the criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton. Yet the search warrant was for a criminal investigation though that was denied by the Hillary Camp.

We have already had an idiot despoiling the White House - an individual who lied to the American people over and over and failed to fulfill campaign promises for 8 years.  In regards to our military (the weakest we have been since World War 2), foreign policy (brought up with the idea we should not interefere in the Middle East), and a person who basically ignored Congress, passed numerous Executive Orders and then said Trump shouldn't.

Obama basically relied on Americans to forget things in a few months on his worst blunders and the mainstream would generate polls saying how well he was doing. At one point he was down to 28% and I documented this.

A key point of Trump's rhetoric was sometimes almost any change is better than none and putting someone in who is businessman versus a lawyer changes the playing field. We have had enough lawyers and we don't need another one for 4 more years.

Let's see how he does. We do not need another administration of entitlements, people living off the government and open borders with immigrants getting more help and concern than our own citizens.

It is time for a level playing field, not looking at gender, sexual preference, or race. It is time to end all the special programs and give everyone equal opportunity.

Just wait a few short weeks and you'll see the genuine article in action. And get ready for the blame he'll heap on everyone else when things don't go right.

The Republicans vowed to block everything Obama tried to do from day one, whether it hurt the American people or not. Mitch McConnell and his cronies wasted two terms acting like spoiled children and openly boasting about it. Blanket obstructionism is an appalling way to govern, but it was used to full effect against the Obama administration.

It is time for a level playing field, not looking at gender, sexual preference, or race. It is time to end all the special programs and give everyone equal opportunity."

This is becoming surreal! If these two encountered some drugged out Hollywood Star on that flight, they'd probably fall over themselves trying to get an autograph!

This is insane.

"U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said: "Let it be an arms race," when asked for clarification of his Thursday Twitter post calling for an expansion of U.S. nuclear weapon capabilities, MSNBC said on Friday.

"We will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all," Trump said in an interview with MSNBC, the network reported one day after the tweet that alarmed non-proliferation experts".

Basically no amount of protesting, petitions, or unhappiness is going to change the result of the U.S. presidential election. It is over.  Huge protests when the president is sworn to office is yet another nail on the coffin of a failed effort, when America needs to unify and start addressing the horror stories of 8 years of bad health care, poor economy, and broken promises.

Add to this a complete shameful abuse of journalism who waged war on a candidate and tried to influence the election. It wasn't the Russians and their hacking. It was the mainstream media trying to influence the election. Their polls were wrong. They did not focus on the important issues and now the The New York times, a major offender has apologized.

comment: this is what I posted on this thread more than a month ago and after a circus of attempts to change or prevent Trump from taking office, nothing has changed except the need for the American people to move on.

Obama's last gasp measures to somehow ensure him some form of legacy made no more sense than his 8 years of lying to the American people and failing in all major programs he tried to create - especially health care.  Despite a hope that somehow there will be anarchy in the streets and he can somehow hold on to the office and declare the elections invalid and an effort to completely disrupt the change of power, it isn't going to happen.

Expelling a lot of diplomats, creating a huge park for Native Americans (which by the way was a good idea in some ways), will have no effect on the gathering of cyber information by either side, both which have been doing it for decades.

The release of information showing how corrupt and criminal Hillary Clinton was by emails unlikely to have been hacked and even if they were taken from the wide open server, simply told the truth to the American people.

Personally, I did not want to see a situation with a no-fly zone declared by Hillary, who said she would and a nuclear war.  Right now, they are about to have peace in Syria for the first time in many years.

The stock markets are up - and perhaps finally there will be some control over immigration and a host of programs targeting minorities, gender and gender preferences, and other special interest groups. It is time where all are treated equality and our work and education measured by a standard which is equal to all - not lowering the bar so some could pass.

It is very likely America will do extremely well. Despte dire predictions of the liberals who are finally out of power after losing thousands of seats and positions by the democratic vote of the American people, it is time to give the "other side" one more conservative and the reason we have a Democracy - two parties.

CNN, Fox, and New York Times are scrambling to print some liberal declaration of horror everyday despite the fact Trump will take office. Depsite more sweeping statements of Russian hacking, there was no evidence printed or posted in any of the news stories giving proof.  Both Fox and CNN blustered and fumed once more without a shred of real evidence to support their accusations.

The best so far was that some organizations "in the style of Russian hackers" and without direct orders from the Kremlin had been gathering information. This is not news. They have been gathering information for decades.

Each day as I look at the news I think - what next? Are we going to have a day to day countdown with Trump slamming until he takes office?

The democrats failed. And as much as he wishes and declcares he could have won, Obama cannot run again in a repeat election and beat Trump. This is so unreal to watch this refusal to accept the reality they have lost.

It is time to move on. I find it interesting that Trump went to a church service on Christmas Eve and it seems no one was interested in that. That our next president is a Christian - and perhaps might stop persecuting the religion and those who follow it instead of trying  to advance Satanists, atheists, transgneders and gays (who still have a right to worship as they choose) more than hard working salt of the earth people who support the vast array of programs of those who don't or cannot. What you do in the privacy of your own home or in a church or mosque is your right as an American.

Russia has enough nuclear bombs to end life on the planet as does America. God help us the day they actually (after 20 years of scare tactics and straw men tactics to create fear so we can be the largest arms dealer on the planet) might ease up. It is possible we can reduce those weapons and were doing so before. It is possible we can do something to change the image of the cowboy riding a nuke (Jimmy Carter) and blowing up Moscow.

The same type of fear mentality exists in Russia about the U.S. that has existed here about Russia. The intelligence community feeds on the fear of 9-11 to spy on and completely take away our privacy on our home computers and in our lives.

I would like to get up and read that news about going to Mars in 2020, how many new jobs we have in America - how the economy is booming and we who are starting small businesses will get a break to do so.

It is a shame the mainstream media has turned into National Enquirer and Reality television. I want to see more car ads - American car ads of cars made in America. I would like to see West Virginia's coal industry and other state's jobs brought back to life as well as all of the industrial states have a job boom and new hope for 2017.

Perhaps that rust belt can become a steel belt and people who work and sweat to make a wage can be proud and be shown the respect they deserve- and America can truly be great again. Why not?

It's time to move on.
