I think many of you will find this a fascinating essay whether you are a Trump supporter or detractor

well worth a few minutes of your time

Common Sense 2017

bottom line is
the election of Trump marks something  different

whether that ends up being good or bad remains to be seen

the Fourth Turning can easily go either way

Thanks, Satori, that was excellent!!  Clap

I'm trying to keep an open mind....when Ronald Reagan ran for President against Jimmy Carter, I was not supportive of Reagan until the debates, when I started to realize there could be an alternative pathway for the USA.  Perhaps Trump's ascendance is similar?

My problem with the guy is his ego and disdain for everyone not named Trump.  He avoids paying taxes and says this makes him a "genius," he gets into petty squabbles with revered figures that only makes him enemies, and he starts off by aligning himself with a historically adverse nation (Russia) when there is no good reason to do so (except, perhaps, for Trump Inc. business reasons?)

I support much of what could be done....the US Dept of Energy is a cess-pit of excessive spending on research that is better off performed at research universities, who are starved for cash and facilities.  Our military has been commanded into too many wars of adventure, and the price has been drastic.

We shall see, sometimes breaking the mold is a good thing.
