Yikes!  I've had the exact same fear, dating back to about the same era ("China Syndrome")!  

An atomic attack by boat is one way that chubby Kim Jong Un could lash out at the USA, striking one of the West Coast Harbor cities, Hawaii etc.  Lots of targets out there.
