Anyone else having crazy weather? We had been having weather in the 70's and 80's until this past weekend when we had 3 days of upper 30's lower 40's and horrible wind, so it felt much colder. Today it's back in the 70's, so I'm happy. I got my jalapeno, habanero, and tomato plants plated a couple of weeks ago and they are doing well. The plums and peaches continue to grow. The apple trees, not so good, only one out of 3 I planted last year looks like it's still alive. So what's everyone else working on?

Different part of the world, but we were supposed to have the coldest May Day in 30 years. My planting of potatoes and onion sets and carrots have been delayed by the cold.
I have seedlings for an unheated greenhouse, but we are still getting night frosts so those will also have to wait (hoping they don't shoot up too much before replanting).

A friend was clearing out her garden, so now I have two more damson plum saplings. The area where they are now is a bit rocky, but so was the garden they came from and they seemed to be thriving there. These, together with some sea-buckthorn I planted last month represent a very long term investment of time before I expect any decent amount of fruit.
I sometimes wonder if I will see the results of this sort of prepping. That is because my wife is not well and the house will be too big for just one person if she needs to go into care. But if I don't benefit, then someone else will!

I need to plant a couple more fruit trees this year. I need to do some more research though because I have been trying to pick fruit trees that will ripen in different months and then of course I have to like them. And it's a plus if more than one person in the family likes them, lol. The goal is to have ripe fruit all summer so I don't have to buy any, lol.

Bought a folding stove and some can fuel. Need to work on my garden too.
