There has been a major hepatitis outbreak ongoing in San Diego county which has totaled over 400 cases so far.  Officials were worried that it would spread to more of California.

Sadly, it has, Los Angeles.  There are only a few cases so far, but it is spreading.

This will get worse especially if people are not tested if they work in food service. We have many "homeless" work at large venues in food service at large events in Colorado. People need to be tested and pass a health test before they can work in food service.

I eat out less and less because I am never sure about food handling and the health of the food workers. Chipotle had problems with this a year ago noro virus and spreading it to the public. Hurt their business still today.

I'm with you FluMom, at home I only eat at restaurants where I know the owner and the training regimen. My problem is I have to travel so when away from home I pray a lot, LOL! I'm a hospitality consultant so I've seen some real horror stories! The problem is the front of the restaurant can look great but the kitchen is a disaster! It only takes one cook or Chef with poor habits or a waiter that doesn't wash his/her hands to spread some very nasty stuff!

The outbreak is predicted to spread to Arizona next and to continue for years.
