A new study by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) discovered that the older adults in http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/351703-aarp-older-americans-to-pay-16k-more-under-gop-obamacare-repeal" rel="nofollow - America will take a hit of approximately $16,200 per year due to loss of health coverage as Trump’s administration repeals the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or what is better known as ObamaCare.

I can see where it is going and I am older - but considering the current generation - many are tired of working and getting little health care while the elderly consume the massive share and are dragging the system into bankruptcy.

The new system targets working families trying to get health care. Obamacare is dead. In some states there is only one provider left and in some areas there are none that will take it.

I know there will be many waving shoes in the air and swearing and saying "I paid into Social Security my whole life and I worked hard and now it is my turn."

Well, no. Probably one of the biggest things that keeps any of it is that older people vote whereas many of the younger do not.

It is a basic foundation of insurance, my dad was an insurance broker, that people who are greater risks wind up with higher premiums.  You could not find greater risks than some who are terminal and use up more health care in their last few years than their entire lives.

None of wants to die. None of us who need a a bypass or life-saving surgery want to be told - buddy you aren't worth $500,000 compared to some working guy who is trying to raise a family and still is going to pay into the system for the next 20 years.

Weren't the 80s great?  Prosperity and good music. Well, now it's almost 40 years later. The party is over.  Looking at the health care system, it is a classic massive cost increase.

Looks like it's time to work even harder and forget about retirement.

NUMEROUS other countries make single payer work (every other first world country)
perfectly?
NO
but so what?
its a hell of a lot better than what AMuriKa has

this country is falling further and further behind in almost every metric

its disgraceful

we're running around yelling "we're #1"
but when you look closely you find that is NOT the case in much of anything anymore

Obamacare and Trumpcare are both half hearted cons.  If America had a proper federal healthcare system, there would be no question of who was eligible/entitled/paid-up AND IT WOULD BE CHEAPER.  If it is not free at the point of need, you should all be ashamed of putting cash before saving lives and reducing misery.

You are all so worried you are paying for someone else, you do not see the massive con foisted on you all.

Take the final step and become fully civilized.  Even a country as poor as Cuba can manage it for Gods sake!

Yep, quit trying to make money from illness and go single payer. It covers far more people, and it's cheaper. If the system in the States - pre and post Obamacare -  is so great, makes you wonder why nobody tries to copy it.

I don't get why the GOP - the supposed Party of God - fight so hard to make sure as few people as possible get access to doctors. Someone please explain to me how that works? Why would anyone think that is something Jesus would condone?

I've heard the argument about people not wanting to work if they get everything for free, and that makes no sense to me. Sure, there will always be those who would rather scrounge than work, but is it worth denying healthcare to the people who genuinely need it in order to block a much smaller group? It seems so spiteful and vindictive. I don't mind paying extra if it means a child I don't know gets chemo. It's what we should be doing - looking after each other.

And the irony is that the people who are trying to save us from free government healthcare all receive...free government healthcare.
