Obamacare premiums were stabilizing. Then Trump happened.

The wild card for 2018 rates is the president of the United States.

You have to be civilized first, Carbon.

America is a great country, overall, but, still has the death penalty, only private health insurance and Trump.

Your post has such large fonts and is so huge it is almost unreadable. President Trump is our president - who is Chump - why would anyone relate to this? After a year of Trump slamming it gets old Carbon.

This, like some any items of false news, is not correct. They are working out a deal to continue the subsidies and have made a lot of progress.

Did you even read the news yesterday?
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-17/senator-says-deal-is-reached-on-package-of-fixes-for-obamacare" rel="nofollow -
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-17/senator-says-deal-is-reached-on-package-of-fixes-for-obamacare

Senators in both political parties say they’ve reached agreement on fixes to stabilize Obamacare just two weeks before Americans start signing up for 2018 coverage.

The two-year deal would allow crucial subsidies to health insurers to start flowing again, potentially lowering insurance premiums for those in the program next year. President https://www.bloomberg.com/billionaires/id/1252249" rel="nofollow - Donald Trump ’s administration said last week that it was cutting off the payments. On Tuesday Trump called the agreement a short-term solution.

“This is a small step,” Senator Lamar Alexander said on the agreement, which the Tennessee Republican worked out with Senator Patty Murray, a Washington Democrat. “President Trump has encouraged this.”

The deal still has to make it through both houses of Congress and be signed by Trump. If it becomes law, it could end a chaotic situation for insurers after the White House moved last week to dismantle parts of the Affordable Care Act even as Trump https://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2017-10-16/trump-says-he-had-to-undermine-obamacare-to-force-health-changes" rel="nofollow - took credit for pushing lawmakers to work out the fixes.

Trump has called Obamacare a failure and pushed for full repeal of the law. Asked about the agreement at the White House, he said he had encouraged the effort but wanted to ultimately see states given blocks of money and be allowed to set up their own programs.

If the size of the fonts offends you, Med, shrink the page.  I am a total technophobe but I can do that.  You tell me you were a games designer so surely you are tech-savvy enough for that.

Trump and his cronies can call this fake news for as long as they like.  Statistics can be avoided, omitted but not changed.  You yourself commented in a thread fairly recently that your doctor's surgery had lost its queues.  This is why.

When is the penny going to drop?  Trump Lies, consistently, persistently and unconscionably.  Alexander seems to be a reasonably straight guy, but as a Republican under Trump he has no real option but to tow the party line.  Those who do not are fired or forced to resign pretty damn quick.

I agree with Trump that Obamacare was a failure.  But,  it needed repairs, not reduction.  For all the hype and the untruths Trump forces upon the world; ask anyone in the health business and they will tell you that Trumps fiddling will cost lives, and many of them at that.

Yes, I do program and can fix the fonts.  I think there is a lot of truth in much of what Trump has said about many things. To be objective, I think he should do a fact check on anything he is about to Tweet before it goes out to 30 million followers.  Even in here, if I post something that is blatantly wrong - i.e. 3 years ago and saying it is current - a very flawed - there is static.

Trump uses a method my father did and worked very well he bluff with accusations. People don't see this and often it works as the party is forced to defend themselves. Unfortunately the media does the same thing with make up reality and the person gets no defense.  People do not trust the media. It is down to like 5% or less.

At the same time when you have your first knock-down (not physical - just rowdy) dragged on fight with your spouse - contrary to current society - you don't get a divorce.

Trump is our president in the U.S. We don't get a Game Over dude and reset button. The more they find out about Hillary the more I am glad she didn't get in.

I used to wish there had been someone else running - anyone else running that was a solid decent person with experience and could do well for the Democrats.  It is their fault they lost . There was no con or tampering or anything else. They picked the wrong person.

Now - Russia has always been Russia - not just the nation - but the political and military foe of the U.S. since the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Things have not changed. They are not our friends, they are not going to be and they only wanted Trump a little for awhile because they thought they could control him. Wrong. Obviously wrong.

As for the premiums - Obamacare was doomed to failure from the beginning. Even the website had little security and leaked information and was terribly slow, what did they expect?

Insuring old people for the treatment of pre-existing conditions no matter how great it sounds to the Democrats is a losing game from square one. When people use up most of their health care in the last 3 years of their life - no premium no matter how high can fix it.

It is the drug companies, the medical establishment who double and triple bill, and the insurance companies that are the cause of high health care. They need to reform. This landed on Trump's lap and he is a businessman and it bad business to offer open ended health care to dying people.

So if I were President, what would I do?  First I would huddle with the companies to work out some sort of plan that would allow them to make enough money and get as good of coverage for as many people as possible. I would not try to convince young workers that they should take care of old people and sacrifice their own health care.

Trump's strength (one of them) is in making deals. We need the best deal. Give them their subsidies for two years and make them pay for them in better care and breaks to the low income families and those who need it.

No one has solved this so far. Obama didn't and would never have. The clock is ticking. 2018 is when it hits the fan. Let's hope there is something for all of us that works by then.

"People do not trust the media. It is down to like 5% or less."
grrrrr,I really hate it when people post FAKE NEWS

and once again Med you are ignoring some important facts

other first world countries can and do take better care of their citizens when it comes to health care
than the US does

if they can do it
why can't we ???????

and did you really say this ?
I would not try to convince young workers that they should take care of old people and sacrifice their own health care.

you do know how insurance works don't you???

of course you pay into the system when your young
because it is almost 100% certain that you will use it when you are old

and why in the hell should we have insurance companies anyway?
you do realize they drain off at least 20% of all the money they take in

eg
you pay $10,000 a year for insurance
$2,000 of that automatically goes to overhead and profit and overpaid executives

what a STUPID,CRUEL FAILED system

Really Med?  So what should they do?  Drop dead apparently.

Healthcare for the elderly?  What a stupid idea!  Good God, anyone would think you remained human after 60!

My country is far poorer than yours but we manage it.

The richest Cubans make the poorest Brits look rich but they manage it

America is almost the richest country in the world but they fail.  Shame on you!  And you think that is ok?  Yet you claim to be a Christian!

Fix those fonts if you want, but I was shouting.  I am more disgusted with that than anything you have ever posted before.  Have you no Humanity?  Which people would you let die first?

I pray you get better treatment than you would grant others.  But, I will never see you in a favorable light again.  That reply is inhuman.  Now I know why you love Trump so.
