This is an interesting (older) documentary on TB around the world but especially in India.   Anyone have any updates on what is happening with this as far as - is the mutated 'totally resistant' form spreading, is the new drug they mentioned at end working etc????

It's about 25mins long

Go on the net...India is still in big trouble. Most of the patients who have the drug resistant strain I would bet can't afford to get on a plane and go anywhere. But that does not mean it will not spread. Too many people in India.

Sorry to say it but we really do need a virus that will do away with a few billion people. I and my family may die but it really needs to happen.

FluMom,

The doing away with a few billion people, is not the solution to the worlds problem's.

Be careful, and do not join into the propagandized popular party line in this matter.

More later.

Who's party? I have always thought that. We have way too many people just a fact. Please do not bring politics into what I have said. Go back to 2006 I have always said there are too many people.

We do not have too many people on our planet, Earth.

For a fact sheet on TB try WHO http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs104/en/" rel="nofollow - http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs104/en/

There is a link on the page for country profiles, for example the page for India is here: http://https://extranet.who.int/sree/Reports?op=Replet&name=%2FWHO_HQ_Reports%2FG2%2FPROD%2FEXT%2FTBCountryProfile&ISO2=IN&LAN=EN&outtype=html" rel="nofollow - http://https://extranet.who.int/sree/Reports?op=Replet&name=%2FWHO_HQ_Reports%2FG2%2FPROD%2FEXT%2FTBCountryProfile&ISO2=IN&LAN=EN&outtype=html

I agree Flumom,we have added 6 billion people to this planet since 1850,200 years ago not a car on the road,a plane in the sky,all ships were wind driven, climate change is real, take a look at Cape Town,South Africa, the sign of things to come....... Bring on the "slate wiper"

Sadly, very sadly, I have to agree.

I wish we had had more foresight as a species.  Limiting our breeding would have been so much better and kinder.  We could have avoided it all.  But no, we have to trade actual lives for potential ones.  We are profligate, selfish and greedy.  We are blind to our damage, expert at lying to ourselves and even make a science out of lying to each other (adverts, propaganda, fundamentalism).

Now I share the belief that a slate-wiper is all that can save the planet.  It might even be too late for that.

This is tragic.  For all those terrible faults, we still have science art and love.
