I'm not sure if more people would die from the superbug, or from starvation. I think starvation is a major issue. Lets face it. How many people will have enough food to last 18 months? The Superbug wil take 15% of the pop. Another 15% will die from starvation, or from related causes. And then about another 5% - 10% because they are unable to get refills on prescriptions. I actually feel that these numbers are conservative. You don't want to know what I really think. I will sum it up by saying that I personally believe that if this virus goes h2h, it would in fact be the "big one". Okay. Scary time over now. |

| You know, until you mentionned it, Albert, I hadn't really thought about the deaths due to peripheral problems like lack of needed meds, starvation, etc. I think I had been mentally downgrading those as problem, like "it could never really happen in america." But people died in Katrina from those very things, just lack of water, the heat, lack of meds, while stuck in their attics by flood water or at the superdome. Let's all try hard to prepare so that it doesn't happen to our families. |

after 18 -24 months of food running out...... if things go that far don't expect things to be back to normal and the stores full again or jobs to make $ to buy food etc. after 24 months would be the beginning of the final starvation or back to some type of communist society of co ops to survive there after. we would have to form communities together instead of riding things out on your own by yourself. |

People today are not self reliant as they were in 1918, few have the skills a few of us corn fed country boys still have.
A human should have many areas and levels of skills to survive. I read somewhere, a human should have the abiltity to butcher a hog, plan an invasion, defend himself, build a fire, conn a ship and some others I forgot. I can do it all but the ship business, don't have a clue as to what that means. But we ain't got no ocean in east TN anyway. we can skin a buck, we can run a trotline, country boys can survive!!!!!!!!!!!! |

with all of what's happening I'm afraid meat will be a thing of the past. If Joe's Suscian Sheet gets around all animals will be infected or carriers. including humans. According to Phyrefly insects are also suspect. That leaves vegetables..... If something comes of plants we're done for. |
