To all, I have a recommendation that many of you will find disgusting and some will think that it is to cruel but it is real and it will make your preps go a lot further by providing fresh meat on a regular basis.
I am talking about learning to trap wild animals.I would recommend a book called "Trapping North American Fur Bearers" and/or a monthly magazine called "Predator calling and Trapping". This book will give you the basics of learning how to trap most animals in this country and other countries. The magazine always has good articles on Trapping different animals and sources of supplying your trap needs.Of course you will not be trapping for fur,but it could come in handy. But the meat is always useful is you are in a survival situation. If you think this is to cruel or to distasteful, wait until your belly has been empty for a few days and your kids have been hunger for a few days, then decide again if animal trapping is to cruel or disgusting. One or two dozen number one long spring steel traps and the stakes and the wire to hold them in place should be in every survivalist gear.
