We have 80 acres on a private lake about 30 minutes from where we live.  I want to drive a sand point well, and wonder if any of you folks have done so, and could offer any tips.  My wifes folks (my mom-in-law grew up out there) and my dad-in-law filled in a dug well on the property about 20 years ago.  He said the well was about 10-12 feet deep at that time, and the property appears to be all sand.  The water is supposedly high in iron, and tastes that way.  I figure if I can get a producing well, I will invest in  a Berkey or something to filter it.

Looks like I have to drive it 10-12 feet.

Any advice??
