Dead duck being tested for bird flu

15 April 2006 11:30

"Tests are being carried out on a dead bird found in the same Fife village where the UK's first case of bird flu was confirmed. Locals in Cellardyke watched as a government scientist was called to the harbour area yesterday afternoon, this time to collect a dead duck. It comes just over a fortnight after the discovery of a dead swan which had the H5N1 strain of avian flu. "
