Hi,
Has anyone ever used "waterless" or "no rinse" shampoos or body washes? I had a friend who cared for her elderly grandmother and I remembered her mentioning that product a couple of years ago. I never asked if it was effective. I thought it might be an interesting alternative to not washing my hair daily or using up my water to wash my hair. I just wonder if it leaves any kind of residue or if the hair feels greasy or sticky in any way?? Let me know if you or anyone you know has ever heard of it/used it! Millie A. Jackson |

We had some for camping, but don't think we ever used it. However, this morning I didn't have time to wash my hair before attending a convention and I sprinkled baby powder in it and then brushed it out. The baby powder absorbed some oil and made my hair "last" longer... Libby

These products were used on me when I was bed ridden...they aren't something I would recommend beyond one, in-between, normal shampoo. BTW, baby powder is as effective IMO. IF pandemic hits I am going to shave my head. No joke. I have already planned it and I have long hair. No worries about keeping it up or clean. No worry about virus parking itself on my hair. No worry about maintaining it if I am one of the unlucky ones infected. It just seems like the best solution to me. I am not a vain person & don't plan on being out in public anyway so what's the dif? |

I heard that waterless soap is highly recommended for this situation, although I don't have any.

Millie....the
baby powder does work. My husband was in traction in the
hospital for three months years ago and that is what I used on his
hair.
I bought a large bag of baby wipes today....they will come in handy if you can't bathe. I saw a camping shower at KMart that I am considering buying. I think it was around $16.00. I could never go days without showing. UGH! |

I totally agree! I can't imagine not showing for days at a time. I may
have to look into getting a camping shower. Baby wipes are a good
idea too.

Ooh Rah Master Chief! While I certainly don't look like Demi I did my stint in a "man's world". It takes steel in the back bone, clear vision, & the determination to do what has to be done. The very things I plan to use to tackle AI with no intent to fail. |

Sophie! What about going with a full mohawK? I like the way you think. I might go with full war paint like on Predator. |

I have used the baby powder trick but it only last for a day or so then you really neded to wash your hair. I plan on a baby wipes daily plus rain water for washing my hair. I will use a large tarpe for water collection over a large garbage can |

I have gotten 5 cases of babywipes. I have a 17 month old little girl and we use them for everything. Babywipes will store better then TP and they always stay wet if they are closed up good. So, I could use them to wash off, wash hands, clean up spills and even in the bathroom.

Don't spend $$ on baby wipes. Do this instead. Cut a roll of paper towels in half. Put the half roll in a zip-lock plastic bag. Add a little baby shampoo (or baby wash) and a little baby oil. It's the same as baby wipes but whole lot cheaper.

I better stock up on some more baby wipes. I can't rely on rain water here in OK, we have had rain once (not a measureable amount even) in the past 100+ days.
