I had been waiting for at least a second outbreak so as to not be posting re. only a fluke, but now we unfortunately have this.  Two American colleges now have student flu outbreaks and are commencing vaccinations, in early September.  See http://www.kgun9.com/news/local-news/flu-season-makes-early-appearance-on-ua-campus and also http://www.hattiesburgamerican.com/story/news/education/usm/2017/09/01/southern-miss-health-officials-urge-campus-flu-vaccinations-sudden-outbreak-reported/625073001/
No, I do not recommend getting flu vaccine this early unless you live near an outbreak.  But if these keep up, I may move my November injection into early October.  The severe Australian outbreak could mean we in the U.S may get it early!  Or these could be flukes.

Flu shots start here in Orange County Kaiser Permanente on September 27th. There's already been a spike in cases in Orange County, starting last month. I will most likely get mine in early October too. I've already been sick, but I think I had a summer cold, not the flu.
Be prepared! It may be time....^_^v

Walgreens called and said they had the new flu vaccine three weeks ago. I got my shot last Sat. Sept 2. so I have one more week until I am "protected". I know a lot of people do not believe in the flu shot especially my friends at work but I do it just in case.

When the southern hemisphere is in a bad flu season I always get my shot early.
